I love the idea of supporting a smaller business but sometimes its difficult. I purchased their coffee beans to try at home, I am usually a starbucks or Whole Foods consumer of whole beans. While it was good, I don’t think it was better than what I usually buy and the prices here are outrageous.

Convenient, friendly, and its not Starbuck’s. Have tried espresso drinks as well as the brewed coffee of the day. EZ in-EZ out. With a chain coffee store every few thousand feet, its nice to go to a «neighborhood» stand alone for a change.

For the price? Not worth it. I’ve been a long-time patron of this location. Two years ago it would have gotten 5 stars from me, but lately I just choose Starbucks instead. All in all, drink quality is far too inconsistent for me to give it any more than 3 stars. Sometimes the drinks are good, but usually they’re not. Once time I ordered a «tall» accidentally — and the barista caught an attitude and asked me if i «meant a small». I’m tired, it’s late, you know what I meant.

Pretty good espresso drinks. Yummy mochas. Humorous and Kitschy mug gifts. Good rugelach, other pastries seem hit or miss. What I really love here is the chocolate covered espresso beans!

Cute shop with lots of mugs and coffee too choose from, but honestly, too expensive. Coffee has just gotten out of control lately.

Got a pomegranate iced tea here and it was done quickly and tasted very good. I also got the salted chocolate chip cookie which was very good. The salt really added to it. Great place if u just want to grab something to go.

Great shop, great coffee! Oren’s is a great place to buy whole coffee beans or to get your espresso or latte fix. They have a store in Grand Central so I’ve long been familiar with them but for some reason I only tried them recently. Will be buying beans from them in the future.

Found this interesting coffee shop on our way to a breakfast place, which also happens to be a few blocks away from the Metropolitan Museum. No seating area but little various items(adorable dog mugs) and healthy snacks for you to look at while you wait. Their small cappuccino($ 4.50) and small latte($ 3.50) tasted almost similar, if not identical to each other. Caps are usually lighter in weight and stronger in taste than the latte but at this place, we were only able to differentiate it by the weight. Either way, their coffee beans are smooth in taste(neither bitter, sour nor sweet), which fooled us from thinking that they’re not that strong. The coffee ended up being way stronger than we initially thought. Great! If you’re close to the Met and looking for a strong coffee shop nearby, I would suggest walking a few blocks out to check out this place. Friendly people too.

The best beans. The best roast. Really – the best in the City. Maybe none better in the region – but I haven’t sampled EVERYthing. If you haven’t left Starbucks yet, at least give Oren’s a try. Suggest you buy beans(go with what smells best to you, in the big glass jars) and either get them ground for how you make coffee at home, or grind them at home. You’ll thank yourself. You’ll thank Oren.

I have a soft spot for Oren’s. I used to frequent the store near where my office used to be. It was very early on in my career and a very happy time. They have good coffee and teas — ready made and beans. The service is good and they have cute mugs and coffee paraphernalia.

Perfect lattes excellent lattes… prefer them over starbucks and the line isn’t as long. They sell the butterfield market chocolate chip cookies in case you are craving a snack. They don’t accept larger bills, btw. today I was here getting coffee with my stroller and heard a «rat tat tat on the floor !!!» Someone needed us to move so they could climb up through the trap door! So NYC

The drip coffee was disappointing. My mother and I each got a cup around 10AM but it tasted hours old. I try to give my business to places other than Starbucks but it’s just not worth it sometimes.

It seems like every week i have a new coffee/tea place that i fall in love with. This week, it’s Oren’s on lex! I can’t believe ive never been to this cozy café before, the staff is friendly and very speedy even when the place is packed with people looking for their morning fix. The prices are way better than some of the sourrounding coffee places. A medium coffee will only drain your wallet of $ 2.30 and the flavor is smooth and bold with no burnt after taste. My kinda coffee! I haven’t tried their lattes yet but a small caramel latte seems reasonable at $ 3.80 when you could compare dropping almost 5 bucks for one at Joe’s or daisy’s nearby. I wish they had more seating. They only have a few stools up against the glass window where you might have to squish yourself up against an angry little old lady giving you the evil eye. Grab your coffee and move along quickly little ladies & gentlemen.

Upper East Side is a tad bit different from Upper West Side. For one, the clientele. Think old money v. new money. Oren’s Daily Roast services that clientele. You know, the fabulous 65 year old woman with her small rat(I mean, dog), who’s fitted to a «T”– and needs her specialty coffee grounded for Sunday brunches. The baristas were so nice. I ordered a black coffee because I needed a «pick me up» as I was heading down to the lower East, and the flavor was alright. Did the trick. Not as strong as SBux, but definitely had a unique flavor. Cool place.

CUTESHOP… but i may have made a mistake by not trying their coffee! i was in the mood for thirst quenching action. ICEDGINGERBLACKTEA to the rescue!.. nothing amazing, not super flavorful, but it got the job done! this is really a for TO-go orders only, the place is TINY

It was one of those mornings, I knew what I «needed»… I asked for STRONGCOFFEE and that is just what I got. The coffee shoppe is small and quaint; the décor is simple and comfortable; and the smell is intoxicating. You don’t even have to walk in to smell it; you’ll smell it as you approach. Oren’s has plenty of coffee bean choices but not overboard like other coffee shoppes that offer way to many decisions for me to make. Prices were fair and the coffee is worth recommending. Super friendly staff(welcoming and make great suggestions)
