Osswald

One of three stores in Manhattan to get Francis Kurkdjian. They carry lots of exclusive fragrances and know them well.
We had a product issue and it was dealt with professionally, and it was most likely not their fault to begin with.
One minor minus is that their return policy is not as good as the major retailers on 5^th, but this is understandable since they are not as big either (sometimes be empathetic toward small businesses?).
So nothing serious to complain and probably some credits implies 5 stars.

Daisy and Josie were extremely helpful and friendly. They were so knowledgeable about every fragrance house I inquired about. I was quite pleased with the customer service I received and I can’t wait to return!

I found this shop through another reviewers mention of it here on Unilocal.I was searching for Molecule one fragrance and did not want to return to the dead beat vibe in the Christopher Street shop where I am use to purchasing it. On the reviewers recommendation I found my way here to Osswald. What a fantastic find. The place was lovely and bright — but it was the customer service that was really remarkable. Josie assisted me and was knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I have since recommended this place to clients and friends. What a pleasure.

We went to Osswald based on their Unilocal reviews. I really wanted a unique perfume that wasn’t being worn by every other woman. Let me say — I have worn perfume forever, but it’s always been perfumes offered at department stores. When I looked at the reviews for Osswald, it centered around the wonderful, knowledgeable staff. I now get it. I was helped by Josie and got second opinions from Dustin (who also helped my husband find an amazing shaving product) who were sincerely interested in finding the fragrance that worked for me. Although I don’t know much about fragrances, they were patient, unpretentious and genuinely had a passion for helping us.
As I was checking out, Josie even asked if I wanted to try any samples. So I chose some scents that might be in the running for next time. I would recommend Osswald to anyone looking for an amazing, non-​mainstream fragrance. I know I’ll go back!

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, especially manager. Really interesting selection of European perfumes. Store has a very nice modern, boutiquey feel.

Sometimes it feels like customer service is a dying art. It is so rare to go into a shop with sales reps who are both extremely knowledgable and down to earth. Such was my experience today with Josie. She really knows her perfumes and has a delightful personality. I am terrible about mispronouncing brand names and whereas in some places salespeople can treat you snobbishly for that, she and I just had a quick giggle about it and moved on to the business at hand– sampling amazing perfumes. She helped me figure out the best order for testing the fragrances and truly seemed excited to see how things smelled on me. With her help I was able to find a wonderful new fragrance. I can’t wait to come back!

The antithesis of MinNY in terms of décor; it’s bright, warm, elegant, and inviting.
My sales rep, Josie, was extremely friendly and knowledgable. Upon entering the store, she greeted me and gave me suggestions to the perfume house of a fragrance that I wanted to pick up. Which led the fragrance discussions and her giving me scents from other houses to try out.
I was going to pick up a bottle of Rhaedon Tabac Rouge. Instead, I walked out with a Rhaedon Oriental Mint and Parfums de Nicolai New York. Along with a few bottles of samples I will test on my skin before my inevitable return to buy more bottles.
Wonderful experience and awesome sales rep, can’t wait to go back!

Osswald is one of those special perfume shops, along with MiN, that carry a line of men’s and women’s fragrances that you can only get in two or three places in the United States.
I was helped by Clement, who was not only helpful but also very knowledgeable about the fragrances I wanted to sample. In the end I got a bottle of Parfumerie Generale Iris Oriental, but I so enjoyed smelling the Roja Dove and MDCI perfumes. Osswald is pretty new so I hope that they are successful because it is quite a special store.

This boutique is pure luxury.
