Our Lady of Pompeii School

From Prek-​4 to 8^th grade, Our Lady of Pompeii was my school. Pre-​K 4 was a great educational program for 4 year olds which greatly helped prepare for kindergarten. As for an elementary school, it was great. I learned many basics skills to prep me for middle school. In middle school, I was hit with some of the strictest teachers I ever encountered. One teacher in particular would call us students «pathetic» and the «future bullies of the world». It definitely was damaging to a child’s self esteem. Besides this nasty teacher, OLP offered a VERY difficult curriculum (too hard in my opinion) with creative (but usually unnecessary or too over the top) projects. As for applying for high school, the 8^th graders are left on their own. I had to learn how to apply and prep for the TACHS exam.
On a more personal side, the school has many SEVERE bullying problems which teachers and administration turn their cheek to. The principal, Sister Veronica should be removed for her lack of control over the school.
If I had to recommend a teacher, it would be Mr. Gregory Lubert, the librarian and AP 7^th and 8^th grade English teacher for his kindness and knowledge.
