Tried to live this place, it’s right by my office. After a couple attempts,(having $ 15 «medium well» burgers served raw, bartenders not knowing what«up» means) I’ll have to move on. The search continues!

Went for lunch today with four coworker friends. They’ve changed the menu, jacking up prices and significantly dropping quality. Paid $ 36 for a burger, fries and coke that was at best marginally better than white castle. Friend ordered the shrimp salad and they placed just 2 shrimp on it. Will now avoid for lunch, after work drinks and advise all to do the same.

Average. Overpriced. Usually a ton of functions going on so difficult to sit outside if you’re dining in a small group. Skirt steak is really good and so is tomato soup. I’ve heard burgers are pretty good but again for the price they’re only average. Lobster roll is not good. Fishy. First time I got it, ice cold. Second it was hot and still fishy. Nothing special. Better than the other two restaurants next to it with same view.

We went for a team lunch on Friday afternoon to PJ Clarke’s, looking forward to getting some sunshine and a meal. Unfortunately there was a 40min wait for outdoor seating, so we had to settle for indoor service. I’m not sure if we just had an inexperienced waiter, but it took an awfully long time for our order to be taken and drinks to be served. Once we finally placed our orders, there was a gargantuan wait for the food to come out. My main issue with this place is the price of the food relative to what you receive. Three people in my party had the turkey burger, which was the saddest looking sandwich I’ve seen in NY and required an extra $ 7 to come with a side of fries. That in my opinion is an absolute rort, although I understand prices may be somewhat inflated due to the restaurant’s location on the water. My lobster roll was passable, while unspectacular — the accompanying potato crisps were unfortunately soggy. Overall, I definitely wouldn’t return to this venue unless it was just for a drink in the sun. The food definitely isn’t worth the price you pay and the service was lacking.

I am writing today to report an incident that I experienced on Memorial Day at 4 Financial Center at 3:30pm this afternoon May 30. I chose to spend a beautiful afternoon at PJ Clarks by the pier at Brookfield Place today with my girlfriend. We eat out frequently and I pride myself in my calm exterior and professional reputation with a special appreciation for the many NY restaurant choices we have available to us. When we arrived at PJC at Brookfield we were told the wait for an outdoor table was a half hour but we were welcome to sit at one of the available outdoor«hightop» tables immediately. We happily agreed and soon found a table all the way toward the right and proceeded to wait for service. But this is not a complaint about slow wait staff. It is my experience with a hostile PJC waiter that day. Today was a beautiful day and time passed quickly before we realized we had waited about 20 minutes for waitstaff to approach. I got up from my seat in a particularly good mood, and found 2 male waiters on the opposite side of the column, leaning on their table speaking to one another at very close proximity. The music was very loud so I interrupted nicely and requested a menu. I saw neither waiter acknowledge me in any way, either by looking up or speaking, so I repeated myself to be sure they heard me. The tall blond haired 35-something waiter immediately accused me of shouting and reminded me that«you get what you give» and«we are not here to bark orders at». I was taken by surprise and considering I never heard nor saw any acknowledgment, I reminded him I heard no reply and that is why I repeated myself. He said HE «heard his friend the first time when he answered me» but what he fails to understand is despite his hearing his partner, the important person to communicate with was me. He was inches from his partners head and I was 5 feet away with very loud music playing. Then he approached our table intent on lecturing me on how to speak to waitstaff. Nothing could have been more offensive. I have never ever spoken rudely or insensitively to waitstaff as my chef friends have taught me well. I made only a reasonable request spoken so I might be heard by these two waiters whose conversation may have been temporarily interrupted. I am a food professional who has been to this particular restaurant quite a few times in my 8 years in TriBeca and must remind management that this waiters behavior can never be tolerated in any legitimate restaurant. My girlfriend and I were so upset by his hostile patronizing behavior we bolted as fast as possible and moved across the plaza to Le District where we were welcomed with open arms and sympathetic ears. I will never return with my friends or clients to P.J. Clarks again. I have never felt so compelled to complain this way before but feel it is my duty to report such boorish rude and threatening behavior. This waiters employment should be immediately terminated.

I’m going to miss working in this area. The seaport has some of the best views. The starter wings and sweet potato fries were bomb and they have fresh oysters to feast on as well!

Decent hamburger… that’s about it. Not worth the price. Fries are an extra $ 7 and aren’t event hand cut. Cool atmosphere. Don’t know if I’ll eat here again.

I’ve come to PJ Clarks a few times now, but mostly because of its view of the Hudson. Although the food is not terrible, it is quite pricey for certain items in relation to what you are getting. I think what irks me the most is the idea that this place can charge a burger for over $ 10 with no accompaniment of fries! I’ve had the calamari before which I found to be on par with an average to good calamari dish. Plenty to share and nicely fried. I have also had their tater tots, which I will never order again because these tater tots to not meet my definition of taters! The tots are too big in size and mushy. It is as if they were trying to make it a fancy tater tot but eliminating what makes a tater great: the crunch, the potato pieces, the signature taste of a tot. As for the food, I’ve only ordered their burgers. I’ve tried both the classic and the Cadillac. Their burgers are definitely sizeable and very juicy. The bun and additional toppings are plain and simple: lettuce, tomato, raw onion, pickles on the side, cheese. It was good but for over $ 12 – 15 with no fries… not worth it to me. And because it came with no fries, we ordered a side of their«shoestring» fries. WARNING: they are not shoestring! They are literally just regular fries so if you were looking for regular fries, you got it. They were hot and crunchy, but it wasn’t what we were expecting so it left a disappointing impression. As for their cocktails, just skip it. I got the jalapeño cucumber margarita and it just tasted like watered down vodka with cucumber(yea vodka, not tequila!). My friend got this St Germaine crazy sweet drink. Very unappealing. Overall, a great location with average food that is well over-priced.

My wife and I went to PJ Clark’s after a long walk all the way from Midtown and the whole time in my head I had the destination in mind. We made it to PJ Clark’s at about 11:45AM on a Saturday afternoon and they immediately sat us – and you could tell we were going to be rushed for the crowd that would likely come in soon after. Our entire overpriced meal was rushed and they forced us to order it when we were still trying to enjoy our drinks. While the busboys were certainly efficient, they were overbearing & the entire waitstaff hovered over us rushing the experience to be about 20 mins total. Their desire to turn around the table was palpable. I will say that the burger was pretty good and view of the water was nice.

One good experience then one very poor, 15 minutes our group sat with no service no water no nothing. Asked the maitre de for service, another 5 minute wait nothing another 5 minutes nothing so we left. My friends were in from London and it was simply embarrassing.

Sliders were ok, service was slow to begin with and then got a little better, if you order a drink on the rocks you’ll pay $ 2 extra for the ice

This P.J. Clarke’s has really gone downhill since Brookfield Place opened. It used to be pretty good, though expensive. Now it’s just terrible and completely overpriced. Burger is nothing special on a sad supermarket bun. Fries were almost $ 7 for a small portion and they were totally mediocre, and arrived about 5 minutes after the rest of our meal. Crab cake sandwich was greasy and not lump crab meat, mostly filler. The only thing P.J. Clarke’s has going for it now is the view. Go for a drink and then walk a block to Shake Shack for a great and much cheaper burger.

Wasn’t expecting much from this place but food was okay. Nothing special but hey did have large clams and oyster meat though not much of it. I got the lamb shank with couscous. The fatty parts of the lambs was good and the sauce too. Overall, you can get a decent meal here with a nice view of the waters and convenient location in the Brookfield mall.

This is one of those places where you cannot figure out how they stay open. There are such competitively run and managed restaurants all over NYC and you want to pay 20 $ for a soggy burger that doesn’t come with fries? Small soda bottles for 4 $? They might be mistakenly thinking of themselves as a Michelin recommended restaurant with this price range but it is obviously unjustifiable. Food is not even mediocre. You want a good burger? Go to Bareburger or Shakeshack or go to Applebees, you would spend half the money for tastier food without having to bear servers that are either trying so hard to be personable and personal with you or missing and technically incompetent and trust me, you trying to become friends with me doesn’t make up for your missing service skills. Why would I care to tell you where I am coming from if you cannot properly present and serve wine? That should be the manifest function of your job. If you do it well, I will ask you where you are from. Place looks old and not maintained properly, most of them seemed like they do not like their jobs. Poor tourists that flood the are will think this is what we eat in Manhattan. Give it a shot if you want a unique experience, I will not forget mine for a lifetime!

One of the best kale salads I’ve had. So simple yet so tasty with kale, advocating, chicken and lemon dressing. Spacious, good for large groups. Great place to drop in for some drinks with friends. Great outdoor space to overlook the Hudson River and marina.

This is place for quick drinks after work if you work in the area. The place was really busy & loud that evening. I believe there was a cocktail hour for the suits from the building and no room to maneuver. We got a couple of drinks, Mac and Cheese and Oysters(on the house) and then we bounced. They have outdoor seating but on weekends it’s a place for tourists.

The reviews for this restaurant are pretty atrocious, and I don’t disagree with them. But, I didn’t expect much when I came here. I really only came here to sit outside with great views with my dog. This place is comparable to like a Friday’s. Hot wings: Really good, actually. The wings were crispy and covered in Frank’s Red Hot which I really like. Creamed Spinach: Tastes like they took it out of the freezer and microwaved it(could be possible). Doesn’t taste horrible, but definitely not good. Crab Croquettes: They were SOOOSMALL with like a shred of crab in each little tiny ball. Tasted good, but not worth $ 17. Don’t recommend. Home Fries: WOW they literally had no taste and were soggy. Only worth it to come here if you want to sit outside and enjoy the view.

The view here gets the two stars the remainder one star is for everything else. The drinks and is expensive for what it is. They used to have an amazing happy hour…$ 4 beers till closing. The minute it got nice out they cancelled the happy hour. What the @$!# is that? We got there for happy hour the other week and their own staff didn’t know the happy hour ended. To say the least, I was super disappointed especially because the week before I had so much fun at happy hour. The week before my dissapointment, we tried the fried calamari($ 14) and the kale salad($ 10ish). Both were pretty good and we enjoyed them but the $ 4 beers were the highlight. The view here is really something to brag about I can see why they are always packed. I would just sit outside and enjoy the view but probably not come back for the food or the drinks because it is way too expensive.
