New location, but same good food. The Jok Bal here is the best in the city. The spicy jok bal is also a great choice if you love spicy food; I’m pretty tolerant of spices but this was definitely on the spicier side! BoSaam is also superb. You don’t get that porky taste in your mouth which makes it a great option! I haven’t tried their ramen/noodle dishes at the new location, but am hesitant to try as it was sub par at their old location. Tasted like msg and artificial seasoning…

Came here randomly one night for dinner with my friend, we got the kimchi porkstew, golbaengee jjim and a seafood pancake. The pancake wasn’t good at all and I could count the pieces of seafood with my hand. They should really change the name to just pancake. As for the golbaengee jjim, it was flavorless. Maybe it was an off night but I probably won’t be going back anytime soon.

Haven’t been here since their move from K-town. Glad to find that the food is just as good as it use to be. The menu seems to have gotten quite a bit smaller. It was surprisingly empty when we went at 7PM. However, it quickly filled up. Lucky we were able to snatch up seats for 10 while there was space. The thing to order here is the jokbal. So tender and fatty. I will say that the prices here are higher than other Korean restaurants and definitely above average for this neck of the woods. The haemul pajun was alright. Too much scallion, if you ask me, and not crispy enough. The beer may have been a little watered down but that was up for debate. Will be back if I’m fancying Korean food in the EV.

Highly disappointed in this place only because they forgot one of our orders. We ordered the seafood dukbokki and the bulgogi. The seafood dukbokki took awhile to come out, and then we never got our bulgogi. We did not want to be rude and make them feel rushed by asking them where our bulgogi was, but we were on a time constraint so we finally questioned them after about an hour. The kitchen never even got the order, but our server had even repeated our order to us and it did include the bulgogi. Especially for a place that opened up relatively recent, I would have expected them to offer something to us so that we would want to come back next time, but none was offered. So I wouldn’t advise coming here if you’re trying to get a «quick bite.» If you’re just looking to get some cheap happy hour drinks, this is definitely the spot.

This is an unique little Korean place because although its technically a bar, its interior is almost like a spacious coffee shop/study place. It has large tables and everything looks very clean and modern. The service is great! They are very friendly, and the waiter even tried to teach us Korean, and we laughed about how bad our pronunciation was, hehe. And they always give us complimentary things, so nice of them, and they are really tasty as well! The price is not bad, and there is a big variety. Although their food is not mind-blowing, that might be because they opted for variety over speciality. My favorite to this point is the ddukbokki with added cheese! I’d say this place is a perfect place to wind down after a hectic day/week. It’s a lovely place with great Korean comfort food and soju!

Delicious! This was my first time since its relocation from the K-town location, but I was glad that it still carried the same simple, clean, and«chic» interior. We ordered many small things off the menu, but the best one was the pork feet dish– so tender and delicious! EtOH was reasonably priced and they have daily HH specials! Would definitely go back!

3.5 stars I’ve been here twice, and both times left full and satisfied. I’ve probably had better food in K-Town, but they do a decent enough job so I’ll give them 3.5 stars. Some of the highlights for me were: 1) free yogurt soju shots when you check in 2) the budae chigae(my personal favorite Korean comfort food) 3) pork belly 4) pig feet, sooo muchhh meattt, and quite tasty. Don’t knock it til you try it! Seating is a little cramped and I hate those heavy wooden block-type seats, and it’s a little dark and musty inside, but you’re probably not coming here for the ambiance. Solid choice for Korean food in East Village!

The only good thing about this place: $ 8 pitchers of beer during happy hour. While wandering St. Mark’s, my friends and I decided to try this new joint out. Upon entering, it seemed promising. The food menu sounded delicious and the happy hour was so cheap! We ordered two pitchers of beer, the seafood ddukbokki, bulgogi, and the wild berry soju. The beers… are beers.(nothing more to say). The ddukbokki took forever to come out, but they gave us a mini appetizer since it took so long. When it finally arrived, it was good, but nothing special. The portion was also smaller than expected. The bulgogi never arrived… The waitress apparently forgot to order it for us, even though she wrote it down and repeated our order back to us. The wild berry soju tasted like cough medicine. Just stick with the beers(they’re cheaper and taste better). Needless to say, we left hungry and disappointed.

Great spot, unlike k-town korean restaurant, this place is pretty chill. they dim the light so it is not too bright and make you feel like you need to finish eating and go right away. They serve beer and shochu and the large OB lager is a pretty good deal $ 7.50 for a 750ml bottle. Food is great, the portion is bit on the smaller size, but it is definitely a great place for drink and snacks.

Came here for dinner on Saturday night bc every other restaurant on the block had a wait except for this one. Was it because we got lucky or because it’s empty for a reason? It was the latter. The food here is mediocre and the service is terrible. I will not be back, except for maybe their Happy hour which includes $ 8 pitchers of beer. Btw, they charge extra for rice. What Korean restaurant does that?

Another new-ish korean place to invade St. Marks. Their signature dish is the pork feet which was really good, it comes plain or spicy and regular or large sized. Obviously I ordered the spicy regular size. Portion was good for the small, adequately spiced. They also have decent happy hour beer specials, and i cant think of anything that goes better with beer then the pigs feet. Their noodle dishes are just meh, nothing special. The money is the pigs feet. Will be back. You also get a shot if you check in on Unilocal, being that i ate a weekday early lunch, i chose to save that for later.

From the other reviews, drinks at PAN seem like a better bet than the food. We stopped in late one night to try something new in St. Marks but we were sadly disappointed. PAN doesn’t offer banchan(little free appetizers) but the prices seem more reasonable than K-town. The pancakes(jeon) were very oily and on the burned side. We also tried a rice cake dish that had good flavor but the rice cakes were wayy overcooked. I’d hold out for K-town if you want good Korean food.

I realize it’s a gastropub, but I didn’t try any of the drinks(I was already getting something to eat from one of the neighboring restaurants, and decided to check out the kitchen skills at Pan on a whim). Staff were friendly taking my order, but initially brought the wrong thing, even after I’d pointed to and spoken the names of what I wanted. Tried the signature braised pork feet and a pork belly dish. The tender pork feet, served with lightly sour flavoring, were ok for a snack. The other dish was well-seasoned, but suffered from meat that was ridiculously tough. Neither of these dishes was anything to get excited about. Portion sizes were tiny, whether considered in terms of price or in terms of how filling the portions were with each dish. Maybe they expect you to take in most of the calories from your drinks. There are better(non-Korean) restaurant choices on St. Marks, and much better Korean restaurant choices elsewhere in Manhattan.

This is a solid offering among the various Korean establishments scattered along St. Mark’s. It’s not upscale in the least but not a dive either — just a great no-frills pub for a drinks and food after work or after a late night partying. It’s bench style seating and the inside is just big enough to prevent the feeling of being over-crowded. Service is typical which is to say not overly friendly but definitely accommodating. Also, they unfortunately don’t offer the appetizer dishes but food and drinks are priced appropriately and they have an ample yet not overwhelming selection to choose from. I wouldn’t think of it as my go-to but I certainly wouldn’t say no to return visits.

What up swim team. I went here late Monday night and found the crowd inside noticeably young and Korean. Koreans eating at a Korean spot is always a good sign, right? The place had the same design of a usual asian eatery, with a modern twist. The benches had some kind of carpeting and the tables were metallic or wooden. I forget. They were definitely solid. My food didn’t fall through and I couldn’t bend it. Not that I tried. More than once anyway. The waiter was cool, asked if it was our first time there(could he tell by the way I tried to bend the table?) and offered his sage wisdom of the menu items if we needed it. I like to try different foods and my girlfriend really likes spoiled cabbage so we got kimchi pancake, kimchi jigae and cattle intestine. We also got Korean friend chicken cause KFC! Almost everything was good. Maybe it was the late night, maybe the flowery description, maybe the low lighting or maybe I was lying to myself but cattle intestine sounded good at the time when I ordered it. I’m sure if you like liver and gizzards and other organ meats this would have been right up your alley, but I don’t like liver and other organ meats, and now that includes intestine. Lesson learned! There was a lack of rice and side dishes that I’m used to from a Korean restaurant and they also don’t sell kalbi or jabchae since I would’ve ordered those over guts(unless they do and they just spelled it different, whoops!). I can’t hate on them for not being like a Korean restaurant, since they sell themselves as a Korean pub. Although they also don’t have a bar, but I’ve never been to an actual pub in Korea. For all I know pub in Korean means«No rice, no side dishes, no bar». It doesn’t? How do you know? Oh, you’re Korean? Anyong! Anyhow, in a crowded St. Marks, this place doesn’t stand out, but it doesn’t suck.

I know it’s a pub but tofu kimchi with no side of rice?! No. Just no. Also the service was lacking. The hostess/waitress sat me and proceeded to forget about me. The rest of the staff walked about completely ignoring me until I had to flag one if them down. Also this is considered a pub but seems to greatly lack the pub atmosphere with there room full of benches and tables and nothing else. Not even a bar.

I went with a bunch of friends on a Friday night. Unlike K-town, they didn’t provide free appetizer dishes. It didn’t really matter; their portions were very generous that we almost ordered too much food! Some of my friends tried«somak» for the very first time and loved it. Everyone in the group was full and satisfied, and the bill was under $ 20 per person after tip. I will definitely bring my friends there again!

3.5 stars The food we ordered was about 3 stars but they have an unbeatable hh($ 2 drafts and $ 8 pitchers of Blue Moon and Brooklyn Lager) and delicious makgeolli cocktails with freshly made fruit juices which makes it a fun place to come to. 4 of us came here on a day when it was 100 degrees outside. On top of that the AC wasn’t doing its job properly, it was packed inside, and there was more heat coming from the sizzling dishes. Luckily we got a seat deep inside where it seemed a little cooler. Bonus instant gratification: we all got a round of free shots of Calpis slush with our Unilocal check in. Delicious and cooling. FOOD:(3⁄5) Pan Signature Pork Feet — Large — Original flavor: I love pig knuckles but one reason I don’t seek it out too much is because it takes too much effort to eat it cleanly. Here they chop it up for you in friendly, bite size pieces and I appreciated that a lot. However the dish lacked some seasoning(a couple of friends also thought it didn’t have enough flavor) and left us wishing we had ordered the spicy version instead. 3⁄5 Ojinguh Samgyubsal: Stir Fried Squid and Pork Belly with Onion, Scallions, Hot Pepper in Spicy Sauce. I thought this was pretty good as the squid was cooked properly and there were fatty cuts of pork belly that had good flavor. The spicy sauce wasn’t that spicy but I added jalapenos to give it more kick. 3.5÷5 Haemul Cheese Tteokbokki: Spicy Rice Cake with Mixed Seafood topped with Melted Cheese. This was supposed to be an appetizer but was the third dish to arrive and its size had us wondering why it was under the app section. Looked like another entrée but that’s a good thing. The cheese was melted down to the point where it was like string cheese and it was difficult to separate it from the serving spoon but overall it was enjoyable. 3.5÷5 Haemul Pa Jeon: The seafood pancake was a doughy, mushy mess. While the seafood itself was pretty good, I didn’t like it due the complete lack of texture in the pancake. Good pajun should have some bite to it. 2⁄5 DRINKS:(4⁄5) We ordered the fresh pineapple makgeolli and while not strong, it was delicious. We also got a free round of fresh apple makgeolli shots on top of our free Unilocal check-in shots. The green apple flavor was very prominent and I would recommend trying that as well. SERVICE:(3.5÷5) Very slow but not for lack of trying. They had a couple of people running around and doing everything. I felt bad for them as they were all very friendly. A for effort. AMBIANCE/DÉCOR:(4⁄5) I liked the wooden tables, tools and the picnic style setup. They have a long table in the middle which is flanked by tables of 4. It’s loud and hectic inside but it’s a Korean pub so if you come in here expecting a candle lit dinner, it means you haven’t done your research on Unilocal. In which case, shame on you! VALUE:(3.5÷5) Our total came to about $ 31 per person. That’s not too bad considering we got a fair amount of food and liqor. I’d come back here but I’d probably drink more and eat less.

I’ve been here a few times after they reopened(they were around 32nd st. but they moved to this St. Marks location) I love this place! I wouldn’t say the drinks are cheap but they are fairly reasonable, and the food is not too greasy. Service wise, you just don’t get this kind of friendliness very often.
