FALSEADVERTISING!!! Went in for their lunch special, which was written on chalk boards outside the restaurant. 2 Slices and a soda for $ 4.50. Not a bad deal. OFCOURSE when you go in and order your pizza you are informed that the soda fountain is out of order and you cant get that. but you can get a can for the low low price of $ 6.50…really?!? I offered to pay their cost for the can, just in case their fountain was legit broken, they shouldn’t have to lose out, but they insisted on making their markup. To make matters worse the staff was rude and uncompromising. I actually felt the need to join Unilocal just so I could vent. The saddest part was their pizza was actually ok, but now I won’t ever go there again because its run by crooks.

Like another person befor me, I cant comment on the pizza, but i can comment on the Salad. The salad bar is great. They always have fresh toppings and they do not skimp on the portions. For 7 bux you get a salad that will really fill you up and give you something to eat later. you also get a bread stick and a drink with that… you cant go wrong.

Papou’s is close to my classes, so it’s location is convenient when I’m on the go. The pizza is certainly nothing to speak about, it’s just an average slice of pizza. I don’t have any complaints about it, but I’m not wowed by it either. The staff here is a little awkward.

Worst Slice I’ve had in the city so far! Had a broc and mushroom. It was over 4 bucks and who knows how many hours it was sitting there. It wasn’t burnt, but crust on the bottom just crumbled. The top part of the pizza was kind of soggy and the flavor was just awful. They also had a moldy green pepper sitting next to the pizzas which was an interesting display choice. Tough to be so harsh on a place just for eating one slice, but that is probably what they sell the most of. If I ever have a worse slice somewhere else, I’ll up them to 2 stars, but lets hope that doesn’t happen. For a quick, cheap splice on the run go to Mike’s Pizza for a slice that never sits too long for a Buck. Mozzarelli’s is OK if you feel like more variety, but I’m really not a fan of any pizza place that leaves a bunch of pizzas sitting out for too long.

I can’t make any comments about the pizza here, as I haven’t tried it yet, but the $ 7 special for a large salad with 5 ingredients and a small soda is a great deal. Not only is it cheap, but I can confidently say after trying salads at several other places(i.e. Tossed around the corner) that Papou’s makes the best tasting one. For 2 weeks straight I got lunch and was never disappointed, but I have been a little upset that they were out of avocado the last few times I went. Overall, I would definitely recommend giving them a try. They have a lot of great deals and I’m sure everyone could find something to enjoy there.

Come in and enjoy the long, long dining room at Papou’s and then the pizza. Papou’s is hit or miss. If you’re eating a pizza that was sitting on the serving tray for more than 20 minutes and reheated, it’s a miss, mainly because Papou’s tends to bake their pizzas nice and brown and reheating doesn’t do it any justice. However, If you have a slice that just comes out of the oven, this pizza is top notch. Unfortunately, the chances of getting a slice that was sitting is higher than one that is just out of the oven. That being said, I think I know the reason why Papou’s makes their pizzas well-done and that is because their crusts are supremely thin, which is rare in pizza land these days. For the record, I like thin. My advice here is «enjoy a FRESH, thin slice!»

I waltzed into Papou’s on my lunch break because I was looking for someplace quick that had plenty of seating, and the seating area in Papou’s is pretty nice for a pizza-by-the-slice place. I ordered a slice of plain and a slice of what I thought was buffalo chicken pizza, but they told me it was actually chicken parmesan. I decided to give it a shot anyway, which I later realized was a mistake. To be fair the plain slice was fresh out of the oven and very good, but the chicken parm was too hard on the bottom and tasted like it had been out for a while. Frankly, it was terrible. I debated a lot over whether to give this place 2 or 3 stars and the cheese pizza and the plentiful seating were what saved it.

I’ve always laughed at a place that puts their worst dish into it’s name. During the school year I come to Papou’s weekly and it’s never for the pizza. I have tried their other dishes(pastas and such) which are mediocre but good on a student budget and time line(very quick service, I can be in and back to class on lex and 25th within 10 – 15 minutes). What most people don’t know is their great salads! Call me a rabbit but I am a salad lover, and I can pretty much tell you the taste of every ‘make your own’ salad place around Baruch. Taste and quality wise papou’s is unbeatable. The greatest thing is that they aren’t cheap wit their ingredients. There is a base price of $ 7 but you can put in anything they have(including avocado which it costs a minimum of .75cents to add in every other place) and freely ask for extra. Non salad lovers may think it’s crazy but us rabbits know that there is a key to tossing a good salad. and this place definitely has it. The area in back is nice and quiet to eat in(because most people take out). I just really wish they took ‘pizza’ out of their name and focused energy on their burgers and wraps(which are also quiet good).

Meh. Pizza isn’t awful. It’s a bit overpriced. The staff is weird. I feel like I have to have a lot of patience to even go in there during lunch to grab a slice, because everything is so complicated. They always assume everything is «to stay» even when you specifically tell them it’s «to go» so you always always end up having to watch the guy as he takes your stuff out of the oven and starts putting it on a tray and remind him that it’s TOGO!

I was looking for a quiet place to make an hour long phone call late at night and, well, starbucks was closed. Papou’s was open til 11, one of the night owls of the area. Plus, it was quiet and pretty empty. There’s a nice section in the back that’s far enough away from the pizza bar that it feels kinda private. So it was great for what I needed. I grabbed a mushroom and spinach slice which was OK. No complaints, but definitely not special. I was able to get my work done and fill my tummy, so that was good :) And the dudes who work there were very friendly and didn’t care that I sat there on the phone for so long.

I got a pepperoni slice from here a couple of weeks back and I can honestly say it was the worst slice of pizza I have ever had in my life. It was small, overpriced, cold, and unbelievably salty. How the hell do you screw up pizza that badly? The worst part? This is coming from a girl who enjoys Chuck E. Cheeze, frozen and cafeteria pizzas. I will never go back.

Not great pizza but not bad either. Was hungry on the way to a friend’s place at 11pm and decided to get a couple of slices to go. Curbed the hunger but friend who’s a pizza connoiseur definitely gave his recommendation for the pizzeria across the street instead of this. Well, late night, not many options… at least it curbed my hunger /greed.

Wow, their pizza is awful. I ordered a regular cheese slice and it was small, thin, and lacked flavor. The chicken roll was too dry. The food was expensive and I wouldn’t waste my time here again. Why go to Papou’s when Frank’s Pizza is right across the street?

Good place to go if you are coming from the gym across the street. The pizza’s pretty average but the clean, well lit sitting area in the back is a nice plus. The staff is polite and prompt. Good for fast grub if you are in the neighborhood.

Wow, obviously, this place is no Joe’s pizza, but it has a few pretty good slices. Overall, I would rate this place a 3, but I think they have 2 slices in particular that rate a 4. The Buffalo Chicken slice is amazing and one of the best of its kind I have had in the city. The Baked Ziti slice is also above average. Papou’s Pizza is not my «GO-TO» spot for pizza, but it works when I get a craving for either of those two slices.
