Papyrus

The store is fine, but the staff needs to learn how to be nice to customers. I don’t need the cashier barking at me. The staff is consistently unfriendly and occasionally rude. I don’t intend to shop here anymore.

This is the Papyrus I frequent the most because of the convenience. However, it is one of their smaller stores and the layout of it is completely asinine. The register is directly ahead as you walk in the door, so to get to the larger side of the store, where most of the product is, you have to cut through the line of people. The store is cramped and difficult to navigate through because of the layout and narrow aisles. A much more limited selection than my Westchester store.
Sometimes I get an employee who is very quick and efficient. Other times, the cashier is moving like a slow motion video and I’m looking around to see if there is a hidden camera for a TV reality show to check the reactions of shoppers running to catch their trains. It is for this reason only that I haven’t smacked the cashier up-​side the head with one of those thick MAPS of NY books they sell. Seriously, Papyrusians. this is GRAND CENTRAL! Don’t you know we are all running somewhere exceedingly important?!

Great selection of cards and exceptional service. During the end of the holiday season, there are a lot of great steals!

Love this store. This location is tiny– great selection of things though. It’s in Grand Central Terminal and is great spot to pick up a add really quick.
Decent prices, they have a rewards program which you get to save mula! Which is awesome sauce.

I love this place, the card quality is excellent. The designs and craftsmanship of each card is so delicately made with love. I just can’t get enough of going here to pick up cards for the special people in my life. It’s a great place to pick up greeting cards and small treasures. I highly recommend joining the free Perks program to gain there special offers such as buy 1 get 1 free. The store is a little cranked because of the volume of cards verses standing space, but on your way home in Grand central terminal /​station is an easy in and out.

I needed a thank you card to send to a friend’s grandmother, and was delighted to find one here with violets and a pretty purple envelope to match for only $ 1.

Papyrus has beautiful cards that are often very cute and/​or funny where appropriate. I personally love the ones with embellishments such as beads and sequins. I’ve also even purchased a card with goggles which had water encased in the plastic. However, the selection doesn’t seem to change much throughout the years. I often see some of the same Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day cards year upon year, so there is definitely some recycling of the designs going on.
Overall a decent place to find pretty cards for any occasion but chances are if you are going to a large wedding or birthday party, another guest may very well gift the same card as you. I mean it’s also kind of inevitable since they started carrying Papryus cards at just about every Duane Reade store in the city.

All of the cards here are so beautifully crafted! Although you may think paying $ 5+ is expensive for a card, for the quality you’re getting, it’s really worth every cent. This is such a convenient location for when you need to pick up a card to go as you are traveling through the train station or subway.

This particular location of Papyrus is small and has a mixed collection of mostly gift giving items. There are some very pretty frames and fancy cards, as well as some fun and quirky small items. The big drawback is the expensive price, but if you don’t care spending $ 6 on a small card with glitter, than this is your place.

Any place that is open at 7 a.m., thus allowing me to pick up last minute Mother’s Day gifts on my way up to Connecticut way too early on a Friday morning, is worth it.

One of the best places to shop. Each card is like a little work of art– worth the investment because they truly have character that is appreciated by the recipient. Love this place. For some reason, this location seems to have better stock than the other GCT store but both have great selections.

Wow, this shop is amazingly tiny. It actually might cause a fire hazard if there were more than 10 people shopping in here. If I were one of the staffs, I would feel claustrophobic. Nonetheless, it is conveniently located in Grand Central for commuters to drop by to pick up a quick greeting cards/​small gifts. I come here often enough to buy birthday cards especially when I’m on my way home from work but only for those I truly and dearly love because these cards are pricy! However, I give them credit that they are not the generic Hallmark or American Greetings type of cards. Most are handmade with fancy pop-​out decors, glitter and gems. Yes, very feminine I daresay but unique. I also appreciate that their cards don’t have long verses of greetings like the ones that take up the entire card. Their holiday cards are my favorite and every year, they offer a «deal» where you buy 2 boxes and get the 3^rd free. The boxes range from $ 12-​$ 25 a box with only a handful of beautifully crafted cards. Again, it’s pricy but depending on how elaborate you are in card writing, then it may be worth it.

This is a great place to stop for a last minute card if you commute through Grand Central. It’s located near the subway.
They have a buy 3 cards, get 1 free deal happening right now. Not sure if it’s always like that. I took advantage of it the other day. Even with the free card, they still came to over $ 20 — but they are all really nice cards that the recipients loved.
I am really picky but I found perfect cards for each of the people I wanted to celebrate. They have great quality cards here. They’re expensive but worth it.

An upscale card and stationery retail store where this minute location resides inside Grand Central Terminal. I love browsing through the Marcel Schurman stickers and embellishments along their journals and notebook selection. The journals are disappointmently all lined as I am seeking for a blank (unlined) journal for Chinese class.
I rate Papyrus four stars as unlike other retailers, they have a very good return policy clearly stated on the sales receipt of «every product is returnable with sixty (60) days of purchase. Seasonal product is not returnable after the season.» Sixty days waiting period of returning products is more than the typical twenty one or thirty days for the procrastinator or the «busy bee.» Amid Papyrus’s good return policy it does not constitute their over-​priced boxed greeting cards, and other stationery products being private labelled with their name embedded.

This Papyrus location saved my ass many times when I had to buy a last-​minute card.
Their Grand Central Terminal location is smaller than other ones, but if you’re in a rush you are in and out of this store in no time, with a cool or cute (or both!) card in your hands.
Their wrapping paper selection is also pretty solid.

If i’m looking for a birthday card or any special occasion card I head to papyrus. Theyre just very elegant and almost delicate looking if you can call a greeting card delicate. ha! It’s the kind of card you keep for years.
Their stationary is beautiful, but rather expensive. What do you expect, really?
