Paris Sandwich

These days I am trying different Vietnamese restaurant for my particular favorite one, due to I miss my hometown where near Vietnam. I have tried this restaurant’s dessert, I have to say, in the lower price partition, this restaurant’dessert very authentic, reminds me the days of I live in Vietnam and this is few restaurant has Vietnam style’dessert in NYC. However, I found their food very similar with another restaurant which cross the street, I am thinking they have the same factory that to make the same food？

It seems like all of my favorite Chinatown banh mi places are shutting down. I guess it’s hard to make rent and maintain a constant stream of customers when you keep having to raise sandwich prices. It’s sad, really.
Anyway, Paris Sandwich is one of the few ones that are still around. Their classic banh mi is good, but nothing special. All the right meats are in there, and you can get it nice and toasty.
Their bags and signage say their bread is baked fresh hourly. Not sure if I believe that, but if true, that’s not a bad gimmick. And yes, the sandwiches are quite large, as to be expected. Maybe if these banh mi spots didn’t use such large baguettes, they could stay in business longer…

Food sucks and service is even worse.
Too many Vietnamese sandwich places in New York for you to be patronizing this establishment.

Friendly service from friendly staff. Great bread, freshly baked.

With so many good foods to try in Chinatown, this place can fly under the radar, but it’s worth checking out because it’s delicious. Their Vietnamese sandwiches are great. If you are too full after eating at different places in Chinatown, I recommend you buy a sandwich and bring it home for tomorrow. Once you heat it up a little, it’s still amazing.

The chicken baguette here was dry and crusty. :(I kept drinking water so everything could slip down my throat. I prefer the sandwiches from banh mi saigon. The pork and spring rolls with vermicelli was decent tasting and better than the banh mi.

Sandwiches here are ok. Wish they came with a little more filling.
My baseline is the classic with pâté and ham. Saigon on Broome is better in my opinion.

This place is pretty authentic and is a very bustling hole in the wall.
The banh mi was great! I got a BBQ pork sandwich. The pork melted in my mouth; the veggies were fresh and flavorful; and the bread was great. The price was okay, too, given the size and quality of the sandwich and the location.
One star off for a weird customer service instance. I was at the front of the line when the cashier arrived and she immediately skipped me and one other person to take someone else’s order who had just arrived, event though I was very clearly at the front. I had to interrupt them to get the cashier to take my order.

Note this location is 215 Grand St. My review is solely for their baguettes. Their sandwiches are typically off in taste, but if you want the freshest baguettes, this is the place. Their bread is baked fresh daily, sold in stocks during the day and any day old bread are discounted for purchase. They sell French baguettes (plus smaller size) and ones adorned with onion/​garlic. Either way the fresh bread can be eaten alone or accessorized yourself to enjoy:) Service is also pleasant.

I went into this establishment after I tried to go to the Saigon Banh Mi across the street and was gravely disappointed. The taste wasn’t terrible but they were very minimal in the sandwich fillings. This made the sandwich dry and very bland.
But if you’ve never had Bahn Mi before, try it. Then go across the street. You’ll have a comparably great experience there.

Paris used to be my go to banh mi spot. Before I knew better. Before Unilocal.I was craving one today and went to Banh mi Saigon first but they were sold out (as always) so I decided to try this Paris down the block. First time at this location.
Their menu boards are nice and orderly. They have tons of appetizers, drinks and bread for grabs in addition to the banh mi. There’s a handful of tables as well plus a bathroom.
I ordered the grilled chicken banh mi, which was prepared pretty quickly. Well, this banh mi sucked. Like, I could have made it myself at home sucked — with leftover dry chicken. Old, crusty bread. The last strands of the radish from the jar in the back of the fridge. Yeah, that bad.
No more!

As I was visiting Pretty Polished for my appointment, I noticed they were serving Vietnamese sandwiches. Viet sandwiches are one of my weaknesses therefore I had to try it. I asked where they got the sandwiches and they told me Paris Sandwich DELIVERED to them. I always pass by and never thought to stop by to try it but now I definitely will! There was a variety of the grilled chicken sandwich, the Paris special sandwich, and the sliced pork sandwich. My favorite is the sliced pork sandwich which is like sliced ham with vinegar carrots and cilantro. My friend that has never tried viet sandwiches and spring rolls kept going for seconds. She also bugged me to take her there next time haha.
The bread was toasted perfectly and was not stale like some restaurants I’ve tried before. There was also a tray of spring rolls. It was fried to the perfect crisp served with fish sauce. There is no way someone can just eat one!
It is really nice of Paris Sandwich to cater such a large amount of orders and have it delivered. I will definitely be visiting Paris Sandwich more often.

It’s the very spot where I fell in love with Banh Mi, so it deserved one more star.
Food is okay here, but this place can get pretty packed. So after I found Banh Mi Saigon, I just stopped by to grab coffee and headed the eatery across the street.

WTF they charge for a cup of water. F$&k this place, the food is ok but come on is a cup water don’t charge me for water.

Today’s the second time I came here for a sandwich and I love it! Both times I got sandwich #1, the original banh mi. The sign outside says that the store bakes their own bread. Everything was fresh including the meats and veggies. Very flavorful and crisp. The sandwich are made while you wait which is even more fresh not to mention the service was pretty quick as well. For five bucks I’m full and it was worth it. I also came for the Vietnamese desserts on the counter. But my favorite one seems to be sold out all the time the flat green dessert with yellow stripes will definitely come back for more sandwich and to check.

Slightly higher in price it’s competitor’s sandwiches in Chinatown but the difference is that they offer combos such as a Sandwich+Coffee/Tea+Waffle for around $ 6 which is not bad and that makes a pretty descent inexpensive lunch or dinner.
My only complaint is that the sandwiches don’t necessarily come out descent as much as I would iike for it to. Sometimes it taste funny (sour, stale) while at other times the bread and/​or meat is just too hard to bite into and sometimes they get the order wrong altogether though I don’t blame them. All in all I would recommend working on consistent quality.

I came here late on a Sunday because I wanted to take a banh mi on my flight back home, and every other place was sold out at 6:30 p.m. The location had a fluorescent-​lit cafeteria feel. The prices were average for NYC but expensive for this Houstonian accustomed to her cheap and delicious banh mi. I got the grilled pork (recommended by the counter attendant) and it was aight. Meat was a bit chewy and tough, the fixins were nothing to write home about, and the bread was, well, the 6:30 p.m. bread. (srsly what did I expect, yeahhhh)
Anyway, I wouldn’t recommend hitting this place up unless you were desperate like I was.

Bangin ass banh mi sandwiches! I like Paris much more than JoJu in Queens. Some people complain about the prices here but I don’t think it’s that bad. They give a fair amount of beef in their sandwiches and the bread is good. People are asking for too much when they want the bread to be fluffy but yet crunchy. It makes no sense. Anyone who had banh mi sandwiches know that their bread isn’t fluffy like a loaf of Wonder bread. I usually get their bulgogi sandwiches to go and load it up with sriracha sauce at home. The sandwich is full of flavor and its not drenched in grease.
Verdict — I’m certainly a fan of their sandwiches. The bulgogi beef is always nice and tender and their pork sandwiches aren’t bad either. I don’t always eat banh mi sandwiches but when I do, I prefer Paris.

A charismatic review.
Came here to get a roast beef sandwich and it totally didn’t look the same. They forgot the vegetables.
However, in honesty did tasted good. Crispy bread, fresh flavorful meat, and was a good size. For under $ 8 I guess it’s not bad.
Really crowded, best to grab and go unless it’s not rush hour.
Go enjoy your viet sandwich and demand veggies!

My feeling is it is never to early in the day for a nice Banh Mi as it was only 9 30 am and I was hungry.
I looked at the menu and the loaves of bread in the window with my mind racing what to get, what to get. Will it be terrible, oohh Martin I told myself don’t make a mistake.
Well I almost ordered the Euro Asian Sandwich which to us Americans is just called a hero with meat and lettuce and tomato’s.
My first thought was the roast beef but I ordered the #1 Banh Mi spicy because as soon as I saw tomatoes on a Roast Beef Banh Mi, my mind said mistake. Banh Mi’s never have tomatoes period.
The numbering system made me feel like I was in Motor Vehicles as the screen lit up my number and called out loud 26.
The sandwich was ok tasted fine very skimpy on the fillings. The bread was light and flavorful. But overall not bad and definitely not great.
Now the Caphe Sua Da (Vietnamese Iced Coffee) was very very flavorful and good. If I ever return it would be for the coffee and some other dish or pastry.
