I FINALLY found somewhere in NY that makes a «carnival style» sausage & pepper sandwich — you know? with JUST sausage, peppers and onions? No sauce? Sandwich was not just tasty but also great bang for the buck. I’ll be back!

Best deli in midtown, bar none. Recommend the chicken parm. Prosciutto and sopressata are outstanding as well.

Chicken Parmesan was good just maybe a little on the simple side. I guess I am a jaded American that upon tasting legitimate Italian food expects more salt and garlic. These guys are great I am looking forward to exploring the menu further. I love the old school Italian vibe. You can tell these guys are passionate about food.

You have GOT to check out this place. Sandwiches towards the front of the place, and a selection of hot items in the back. Top items are the Italian Sub, the Meatball Sub, and the Chicken Parm. Great atmosphere in the back if you have time to sit and eat. FAST service, great selection, cash only. I go here every week.

OMG… I want to life here. Great food, cheap and a bustling atmosphere, which I Love !!! The cold cuts WOW and the hot food bar with ravioli and pasta like Nonna used to make. Thank you. I took the bus down from Harlem and will do it again tomorrow… and lots of times in the future… This is nirvana for a foodie… I am so happy. and I love Francesco. He’s a standup guy.

A throwback to when real deli’s existed and not these corporate chains and cafes charging an arm and a leg for fancy cheese with fig jelly on flatbread. Workers behind the counter that know how to make a dang good sandwich and not some kid yelling out«Can I serve the next guest?» Quality food instead of some bland cardboard that tastes like the«environmentally responsible» packaging its served in. My suggestion, don’t stand at the counter like a deer in the headlights because it isn’t exactly 10 page Diner menu. Order then sit down and enjoy because places like this are disappearing quicker than a knife fight in a phone booth.

Amazing, a cold cut lovers paradise. All the meats are laid out shaved paper thin, you call it on your sub they put the deliciousness together. So great, then there is a hot section of the most authentic drool worthy Italian dishes. I wish I lived next door. If you want a «real» deli this is it.

I am across the street and down the road from this place. and its a solid italian sandwich or any kind of sandwich you want for lunch! The customers consist mostly of men… I am usually the only if not one of few women on line for a sandwich. I havent ventured into hot foods yet but my friend has and shes been satisfied.

I beg for forgiveness for my previous rating… only 4 stars? What was I thinking? I can’t get enough of this place… great food, great prices, fast service. A true gem in the heart of midtown. I’ve come to love the days when I forget to bring lunch to the office… gives me an excuse to run over and grab an Italian Hero!

zero stars if I could give it that. totally horrible experience today so I am going to downgrade this place entirely. I have been noticing for a while that this place likes to nickel and dime its customers and the whole situation boils down to honesty. the same item would cost $ 8 one day and $ 9 the next. I have been here more than a dozen times so I would know since I order the same few items each time out. I ask the owner why the cold cut sandwich is a higher price today and he proceeds to cuss me out about why I am concerned about the see-sawing prices. He says the price is as marked and that’s it’s a black and white situation where I can buy it or not. Well, you should mark your prices on your outdated menu so everything is clear as day so I don’t have to play the price game and wait for the server to mark the price on the bag. Everyday it’s something different. The servers eye you and then mark down a random price. There is no price transparency. As a customer, I am entitled to ask and I did so politely. He sarcastically says that the prices are like the stock market. Really? Why did he get all worked up over this seemingly benign question? I have asked it before and let’s just say the outcome was better the first time around. This place is a joke. I told him point blank that I didn’t appreciate his attitude towards a customer and said that he doesn’t care. Expletive deleted here. Great guy this owner. So why does he comment on Unilocal posts? He must not care. Oh, well. Leave it for him to answer but my money is on him providing some snide response. That’s just what Park Italian stands for. And for the record, employees are also a reflection of the owner. If you have watched the Seinfeld episode about the soup nazi, here’s your real life example.

The idiots who write bad reviews are probably twits from the suburbs or outer boroughs, or ppl who merely had someone piss in their mothers. True italian deli. I’m not big on the salty meats, so I just pig out on the chicken parm(although I’m not entirely sure if that’s traditional italian?). I understand the cash only too, banks and CC companies are parasites. Not sure why every dingbat in NYC with a 6 figure salary needs to put a $ 9 sandwich on a CC either. The modest décor and atmosphere reminds me of a lot of the better places I ate lunch at in Paris. Often fancier décor means«tourist trap».

I am having a hard time giving the place 2 stars. It is a small deli tucked away on 45th, close to the offices on 6th. The food was so so at best, being a vegetarian, my options were really restricted, but my non vegetarian colleagues mentioned the food was just ok. It came out to roughly $ 15+ a piece for lunch. The service was quick, but with $ 15 you can get better in the area.

Bella magnifico dolce! The delectable Italian cuisine found at Park Italian Deli is second to none. Nestled in a small space with an inconspicuous sign on 45th St., this deli is truly a hidden gem. I come here very often and am never disappointed. All of the food, from the cold sandwiches to the savory chicken parmigiana with pasta, is made fresh daily. Everyone in my office regards Park Italian as one of the best, if not the best, midtown NYC lunch spot, and we have made a weekly event of «ID Fridays». I just finished my third chicken parm sandwich of the month(#YOLO) and I have to say, it is simply amazing! I don’t typically fancy myself a poet, but if I may be so bold: the wonderful gentlemen who work there are Michelangelo and their sandwich is the brush which so immaculately paints my Sistine Chapel(mouth…lol) with the most enchanting flavors. The master craft in which their cuisine is created can only be compared to L’Architetto Andrea Pirlo’s mastery in the center of midfield for club and country(Forza Italia!). I can keep going on for hours, but I shall end here and let the food do the rest of the talking. I can’t wait to come back next week… Ciao!

Have had MUCH better at Primo’s in Philly — — — — — - We were in town for July 4th weekend, and had a sudden craving for an Italian hoagie. I know, midtown, what are you thinking? Well, we figured we would give this place a shot, short of traveling to Little Italy. Judging from the 4 star average across 98 reviews, I am sure this place has some diehard fans, but sadly, we are not among them. Décor Seems like they haven’t remodeled this place in 20 – 30 years. No matter, if the food is good — we thought. Service Somewhat brusque. Ran out of certain cheeses. Cash only. Food This is the real«meat» of the review — or in this case, lack thereof. We split an Italian hoagie to try. Standard ingredients, including capicola, pepperoni, salami, provolone. The meat was a bit on the skimpy side. The bread, dry. What happened to mayo, oil, vinegar, and oregano? We didn’t taste any of that. No complexity to the sandwich. Definitely not a 4 star experience, in our opinion. We still haven’t found a suitable replacement for Primo’s in Philly. Boo.

$ 7.50 gets you a really good chicken parm sandwich on a delicious fresh foot-long hero. I was worried because it took about 30 seconds to get my sandwich. Boy was I wrong. Even ordering close to 3PM in the afternoon and the bread was still perfect. Ask for extra shredded cheese and sauce and you’re good to go. Extra Mozzerella on top is $ 1 extra. If you get it to-go, watch out, because when you open your sub you can bet that $ 1 of cheese is going to be sticking to the foil instead of your sandwich. The meatball sub is alright, and the cold sandwiches are just-ok. Not worth the hype They use a different here bread for the cold sandwiches that are very hard on the outside. Not a fan. Cold sandwiches are $ 8 now, $ 1 extra for mozzarella. Honestly, their cold sandwiches aren’t nearly as good as Cranberry Deli across the street which are $ 7 and pack way more meat. CASHONLY

The interior is beat up, but this place is great. They use great bread and the ingredients are top notch. Fast and affordable isn’t always easy to find in midtown.
