Patagonia- Upper West Side

This store is just amazing! The customer service is unparalleled. I love Patagonia. They have. Good knowledgable sales staff and they are helpful.

Pricey stuff, but you get what you pay for. Super nice staff. Women’s clothes are on the second floor.

Horrible customer service. I’ve shopped here a couple of times and found the store to be poorly laid out, which cumbersome displays that make it difficult to try on different styles. The sales staff are rude, dismissive, and certainly don’t know the product. I asked one sales clerk for a different size but she was too lazy to grab a ladder and pull one from the top shelf high above the display. Bought in on line, at Amazon, for less and without any of the high falutin stupidity that goes with shopping here.

It’s pretty easy to be happy when doing a little retail therapy. Let’s be honest, if you’re not happy when shopping something is wrong with you.
That said– this store rocks. Great people work here and they are all super knowledge and helpful.

Never shopping here again. I bought a coat from Patagonia online. It was too small. I brought it back to this store and the woman I spoke with was nasty. Can’t return for size. Can’t get store credit. She said I can give it back to them but no money back. Total jerk. Thanks for nothing assholes.

staff won’t lead you wrong. They directed me to EMS after learning that i was looking for something they didn’t have.

This is probably the best place to find your warm apparel for NYC’s freezing winters. The prices may be steep, but trust me, the clothes will last and be worth the ducats you spend. I recently bought a pair of long underwear here and I’ve been quite toasty during the recent blizzard. The staff is great, not your typical «don’t give a rat’s ass» NYC attitude, on the contrary, very helpful and knowledgable about the clothing they sell. Five stars for awesome customer service and five stars for keeping my butt warm all winter.

Love the Patagonia brand and this store just makes it better!

i mean, i’d like to give them four stars because it’s so goddamned expensive. but i can’t! their floor staff is amazing. they know their stuff, are willing to walk you around the store and help you find things even though there are five people waiting to jump on them as soon as they’re done. SUPER friendly! i wish they had a slightly larger selection. parking is tough but i’ll be back!!!

I always thought this location was smaller than their SoHo shop, but there are two floors and this is the first time I went upstairs. I thought it was just women’s clothing, but the have duffel bags and back packs. And I always shop both locations because they will have different sizes, colors, and clothing. They will call their SoHo shop if you can’t find what you are looking for and either have it sent to you, sent to this shop, or hold it for you if you want to venture downtown.

Came by yesterday and whoa! A sale! When does Patagonia go on sale? Whoo hoo. Walked in and was greeted by nice friendly emplooyees. You can tell these guys like their company.
The good:
High quality, good-​looking Patagonia.
The service is impeccable. They are so nice. Upbeat and love the products. Helpful.
The warranty is for life I think.
The Bad: Patagonia is expensive.
I’ll be back… for their next sale:)

Absolutely fantastic, the people working here were friendly, helpful and very knowledgable. The patagonia warranty is worth every penny you pay for the gear. I stopped by the store after putting a hole in my super alpine bibs while ice climbing, they repaired the damage free of charge and were ready to replace the bibs all together if repair wasn’t possible

I have been a super fan of this line since I can remember, but rarely go into the stores as their website is so great. I popped in here the other day to escape a flash rainstorm and as luck would have it, they had just started their bi-​annual 50% off sale! Besides picking up a few «necessities» (everyone needs 46 fleeces, right?!), the sales staff were all SO nice and ultra knowledgeable about the products; the differences between them and the appropriate ones for whatever outdoor adventure you are undertaking. Yes, they are expensive, but the items last a LIFETIME. And if you ever have a problem, you can return the purchase to any Patagonia for store credit or a replacement! You cannot beat Patagonia.

I would give them higher since I really like the gear, but I wasn very annoyed to find out last night that their stores are only open 11 – 7 on weekdays (and 11 – 6 on weekends). Not convenient for hard working NYers.

People here are so friendly. They are super helpful and really know what they were talking about. They even had hot apple cider for you on the table by the couches that was delicious. It was super hot and it was so nice that they had it there for free on this brisk cold day in nyc.

Fantastic. I think that about sums up my experience here.
I had purchased waterproof soft shell a couple of years ago and it had served me well. A couple of weeks ago, the seam where the hood meets the jacket split open, with the hood about 50% detached from the rest of the coat. Not good.
Patagonia has a policy where if the jacket «fails» for reasons such as mentioned above — Patagonia will exchange the jacket for a new one. I am sure there are limits on this policy, but I am not sure what those limits are.
I was skeptical that they would simply replace my jacket, but figured I would give it a shot.
I was warmly greeted at the door by some guy in an organic dyed shirt. I laid out the situation for him, showed him my busted jacket, he spent a few minutes inspecting it himself and said, «yup, I think we will just replace this jacket». That was just awesome.
This was not just some, «well I guess I have to replace your jacket» vibe. The sales guy walked me over to the new version of my jacket, helped my find my size, explained proper care for the jacket, etc. He definitely did not need to do all of this… especially on a busy weekend afternoon.
I was thoroughly pleased with my experience at this Patagonia store.

Prices are high — but the product is great and the amount of choices available is worth the money. Everything here is of great quality and everything is just soooo cute. I love it. It is the best place to go for sportswear on the UWS

Though very pricey, the jackets are worth it because they last so much longer. You would spend the same amount buying cheaper jackets over the years that just fall apart after a year or so. These are build to LAST. Perfect for any sort of outdoor, sporting or athletic event. The sales staff was extremely helpful and were able to direct us to which jackets are best for rain or snow or high altitude.

This rather small boutique outdoor shop has great customer service. They are not pushy but knowledgeable. Feel safe buying things from them. Even during holiday season they are still nice people unlike many other places.
Selection is NOT the best, due to the size of store, but they can always get you what you need. Kids friendly and foreigner friendly.
