Actors, don’t walk… RUN to Paul Michael’s Source and Resource classes!
Paul Michael’s Resource class has enabled me to continue my transformation into the powerful, grounded and focused actor I am today. Although I’m still discovering my true talents and potential, I am able to focus and commit to working 100% on accomplishing my goals in a clear, concise and smarter manner. Paul’s unwavering support gives me the strength, courage and the perseverance to move forward. Paul has been a godsend. The Source helped me figure out what I want, and how I can get it (and where I stand in my own way.) ReSource has given me the tools, the support, and the motivation to turn those desires into a tangible plan. Every week I get to sit down with my friends and figure out what steps I can take to bring me closer to my dreams. Every week my friends help me, cheer for me, and hold me accountable to my word.

Had a bit of a haitus from Unilocaling (writing) but I figure I make the splash back with a GOODIE.
This place is it.
As an actor first and foremost, Unilocaler second you have to love this place.
This is one of the cleaner and roomier studio spaces that I’ve been to.
They host seminars and classes that brings in agents (commercial, legit), casting directors (theater, film/​TV, commercial, independent), managers, and coaches.
It is essential a full service networking place.
But as the saying goes, YOU HAVE TO PAY ($$$) TO PLAY (roles).
This applies to gambling as well specifically POKER.
This industry, nothing is free but if you are serious about your craft and where you are going as an actor, consider these classes/​seminars/​networking meets as investment in YOU.
Most classes have been in the 12 – 14 student range so while it is NOT intimate, you do get ample time to do your stuff.
Of course, if you have a fear of people watching you perform in class then perhaps you should muster the courage to overcome that first.
The only things that are private here are when you are performing monologues, songs or sides for individual agent or manager meets.
Oh that and the bathroom of course.
Silly me… HAH
This place is located quite conveniently 2 blocks from Penn Station if you take the A, C, or E train.
A few blocks west and you have 42^nd street so this is definitely ideal for all you Manhattanites.
Some TIPS —
1) Coming here earlier than 10am would mean that you need to call the main office to get in the door.
So if you have a seminar or class that starts at 10am plan to come even earlier than you would so you have a sure shot at calling the office and reaching someone to come downstairs to unlock the door for you.
2) They do have vending machines but I never use them. Much more affordable if you bring your own water/​snacks to keep you energized during the scenes.
3) Find your class/​seminar on a marker board that is the first thing you see as you enter the place.
It should have all the listing of class/​seminars and the rooms that they will be in as well as time slots.
4) There chairs are standard metal seats. With that being said it is quite uncomfortable especially if you are slim and bony like me.
So if you so happen to have injured your tailbone the day before from I don’t know skating or something, BRING A CUSHION to sit on.
As they say in show biz.
Come prepared.
Come camera ready.
And break a leg!
I still don’t understand how that is a positive compliment but bleh.

Rates are pretty reasonable, occasionally it gets crowded with people waiting in the halls but by and large a perfectly nice space.

Paul and his crew (DL, Patrick, Laura, Jason, Leo… and many more) do a terrific job of managing a lot of classes and the renting of a lot of rooms, while still making people feel welcome. Definitely include them in your performing arts life!

First time coming here and I would come here again. I was a little scared because there was not front door security and literally had to have someone come down and fetch me, lol. It was a great experience there. Everyone was hospitable. Could do with better lighting in some of the rooms but that’s okay. I would come back here again. Actually I will be back again, I was invited for something else here and I will update accordingly.

The staff is friendly and very helpful. Paul Michael is a wonderful and genuine encouragement to those of us pursuing this tough career. I have been to alot of the «other» networking studios in town but this one is one of the best in my opinion. Thanks!

I can’t say much for rates or anything of that nature but having been to the facility a couple times, I can say that the studios are spacious and temperate. There is also a nice waiting area, accessible bathrooms and vending machines. Has a more spacious feel than I’ve seen in some places.
