Payless Shoe Source

If I can score a zero for this store, I will give a zero without any question. Just right now, November 27, 2015, the Black Friday, I was shopping around the area and stepped into the store. I found a shoe and tell an agent there that I wanted one more pair of the same shoe. I already located the shoe, but it was placed high up on the stock, so I was not able to get it. I approached this agent and just wanted to ask if she can get it for me. However, this agent who dressed in Red and was a black women would not listen to you for a single word. She was completely ignorant and just did her own thing. I hear her name as Samantha around 40s-​50s years in age, but I am not so sure. After she finally turned to me, she was still not listening to the customer. What a terrible services! I would have to say that this agent’s service is suck and horrible. I have no idea why a company would hire an employee like this for customer services. This is not the way for business. This woman called Samantha whose shift are around 5 pm — 6 pm on Friday, November 27, 2015, dressing in Red and a black woman around 40s-​50s year in age, I will do everything I can to report you to your employer and all other customer agencies for this terrible services! TERRIBLE!

Came in for a new pair of sneakers and left with 3 other pairs of shoes. I have unusual shoe fitting issues and was surprised to find a good selection that actually were comfortable. Prices are reasonable. Other reviewers complain about the poor customer service. This is not a boutique store so you will not be given much attention by the sales help. However, there is quite a selection to choose from for self service.

I was here few minutes back with my family and customer service is worst here. The sale lady said that we created the mess by trying shoes when they nowhere mentioned that we can’t try shoes before buying. This is worst customer service exp. For till now in NYC. Never coming back here.

Terrible Customer Service Experience.
I was just here about an hour ago to buy a pair of shoes for a play I’m in. When I was being checked out, the sales clerk turned to the other clerk and showed her my shoes, LAUGHING at them. The other clerk noticed my dumbfounded expression and condescendingly said, «They’re cute…»
I turned to my sales clerk and said, «They are for a show I’m in.» She mockingly responded, «Oh, they’re for a show…»
I work in customer service. I understand how difficult a job it can be, but there is absolutely NO EXCUSE to mock a customer. No excuse.
This store needs to have people working there who aren’t malicious to customers.
Sadly, this is a chain in a high-​traffic location, so many other customers probably receive the same treatment I did.
I’m never coming here again.

After signing up for the gym I was searching for comfortable gym shoes. That is why I decided to check out Payless, but not without checking their website and signing up for their newsletters for coupons. I recalled seeing Payless commercials and ads in the paper.
Note the 15% and 20% off coupon applies only for REGULAR PRICED items. Does NOT apply to items on sale. Be sure to read the fine print. Regardless the shoes were cheap (as in price not quality). I picked up Champions for $ 19.99. Surprisingly the shoes are comfortable and sturdy considering they cost the same as a nice dinner in Manhattan.
The stores name definitely reflects the price of shoes. Come here if you want to pay less for shoes!

Good prices and low-​key shopping without big crowds, but the selection is inconsistent across sizes. Still, you can save a bunch if you’re not obsessed with shelf life.

Got a nice pair of brown boots from here yesterday for $ 25! Not too sure about the quality but hey, I am sure they will last me through the winter. Will definitely return to check the store out for sandals, flats, and heels when the time comes. Also like that the store is organized and not crowded given that it’s on 34^th St, and how helpful the staff is when you need something.

On a budget? Need some inexpensive sandals for the summer? Then you have come to the right place. I was surprised by how many cute styles they had. My friend recommended coming here since she knows it’s a waste to buy pricey sandals that will be tossed or donated within the next month or two. The prices range from $ 10-​$ 25 & sometimes they will offer a 10% discount if you sign up via e-​mail.

Decent sized & you do get space to browse. Did not find what I wanted but I consider it the «old reliable» of shoe stores. The shoes you get here may fall apart quickly but if you’re in a real bind and not looking for something too specific, Payless will probably have something you’d like.

The store itself isn’t that big, but it always has my size and type of shoe needed (the black pumps) so, i’m content with it. The quality of the black pumps isn’t that great, but it’s cheap!

Payless just saved my bum. I decided to take a tap class and needed shoes ASAP. The fancier shoe place around my job did not carry tap shoes. There was a snobby reason why but I am choosing to ignore and forget it. So I trooped to payless, since I remember getting dance shoes from there years ago. Lucky me, they had tap shoes and my size.
This location is huge but very clean and organized. The staff are incredibly nice. I originally could not find my size but the young lady looked it up on the computer and had someone get the last pair all the way up top. I also got two pairs of socks. My overall total was $ 31. #Winning.

Why buy a $$$$ pair of shows when you can get the same for $?
I am not a brand-​obsessed person and have been a Payless fan for quite some time. This particular store though, really beats the rest I have been to.
Large, organized store (larger sizes for women, men and kids upstairs).
Huge variety (earlier today, I got the plain nude flats in size 10 that I could not find in other Payless stores).
Helpful staff (a helper suggested cheaper heel grips instead of the insoles that I was about to get and sorted out my fitting issue wonderfully).
Value for money (I hardly ever spend more than $ 20 on a visit here).

I have to give Payless credit since it really has transformed itself over the past few years from cheap and frumpy to quality and affordable.
These store carry men’s, women’s and kids styles at a fair price.
One of my favorite things about payless is that they offer a lot of their styles in wide. This makes life a lot easier when you have a son with Freddy Flintstone feet. I find myself buzzing around this place
once a month looking for new shoes for the little one. Thing is, not only are his feet the widest I’ve ever seen on a child but his feet grow like weeds. Payless always has something for the little man and on some visits, something for mommy too. My favorite are their summer sandals. They always have those chic looks for a fraction of the cost.
On my last visit I noticed that they now have a whole line of dyeables that are about half the price of your bridal wear store. This sure would have been helpful if they offered these a few years ago when I started my collection of colorful bridesmaid shoes that I’ll probably never wear again. No wait, let me revise that– My collection of colorful bridal shoes that I’ll NEVER wear again. I wish I could have bought these hideous shoes «cheap» here at Payless, but instead I paid full price and now I’d be lucky if I could sell them on eBay.
Overall ok quality, but better for quanity. You can get more for less, when you shop at Payless

I was surprised at how large and clean this Payless was. Their selection is one of the largest I’ve seen. It’s also one of the brightest, maybe enhancing its amazingness. I was a bit surprised that my size-​9 shoe size would be found upstairs. It drove home the fact that this one was so large.
