Pecan has been my go to lunch spot for a couple of years now. It is, or should I say way, a great place to grab lunch and hang out. Computer & WiFi friendly, and not too loud to do some reading. Unfortunately, it looks like they have closed down for renovations and I am not sure if they are going to be opening again :( I guess I will have to learn how to make mushroom & brie bisque on my own.

Met for coffee to network — turns out it’s perfect for that. I got a chai tea latte for a whopping 4.5, which I guess is on par w Starbucks and Tribeca… but the space is what makes it. 15′+ high ceilings w open beams and exposed masonry along the elevations make this café modern, airy, and functional. There’s more than enough seating, and the patrons give it a sense that it’s an unofficial coworking space which is a nice balance of buzzing and efficiency. Wish I had this closer to my neighborhood when I feel like filling up a few pages in my journal.

Love Pecan. I love the fresh salads. Today I had The Mediterranean Salad which had fresh hummus, roasted peppers, eggplant and zucchini(both served sliced not mashed.). I also had the homemade lemonade which was perfect. They also make an amazing iced latte with almond milk to die for!!!

You get a really good and quick breakfast. We had oatmeal with nuts and fruits, very good! Nice selection of pastries and sandwiches.

The American coffee is fab and the wifi is fast. Massive tables and a great open space, perfect for remote work.

Every time I come here, the service is horrible, the attendants are rude, food is gross. I ordered a half sandwich and a soup and I literally got the butt end of a loaf of bread smaller than the size of my palm. Soup was gross. Coffee taste burnt and overall service is given with an attitude. Check out Clementines around the corner for better quality food and service.

Great space and location, no table service and indifferent staff. The fare is good, but nothing notable or unavailable elsewhere. A good place to meet a friend and chat over coffee or do some work, that’s all. They would have gotten three stars if anyone had at least cracked a smile or showed some interest in your presence.

I’ve been coming to Pecan about twice a week for 2 and a half years now. I work across the street so it’s super convenient. While they have really good soups, the rest of it is pretty inconsistent. The quality of what you get on any particular day really depends on who’s waiting on you. Once last year, I ordered a berry smoothie and ended up ingesting the stickers from the fruit that were not removed before blending. When I walked in to return it, they gave a huge attitude. I chose to take it as a rare incident, but never ordered a smoothie with apples or berries again. The next time, I switched to the carribean smoothie instead. Coconut, pineapple and guava. Fruits without stickers. I had a pretty good run with this(about a year) until today. They handed me OJ and passed it off as the smoothie. First of all, the smoothie is usually white and thick. They gave me an watery orange juice with 3 or 4 chunks of pineapple in it. When I confronted them, again, with the attitude. Their solution? They took what they already gave me, dumped it in the blender, blended it some more, and gave it back. So now I’m drinking blended orange juice. They added no ice, minimal pineapple, no guava and no coconut. Thanks for the $ 5.00OJ and attitude. You can be sure I won’t be coming back. It’s a shame I’ve already given them so much of my money.

Went here for a take out lunch. Ordered the soup/salad combo. After waiting over 10 minutes, I asked where my order was, and told it would be coming up. After almost another 10 minutes, I asked again and the annoyed guy behind the counter started looking at all the receipts to see what happened. Somehow it was lost. They acted as though it was my fault and finally got me my order, with attitude. When I checked it I saw that the turkey club sandwich they gave me had only one small slice of turkey; basically it was all bread. I asked for another sandwich and got one — again with attitude. Still not much actual meat, but there was something. There was no apology, only rudeness — not from the cashier who took the order, but from one of the workers behind the counter. As the piece de resistance the cookie was packed over the soup so that it melted. The food is only so-so and they skimp on the protein. Certainly not worth the price or aggravation. Okay, I know there are bigger problems in the world, but I will not be giving my time and money to this place again. You’ve been warned.

This place is really not that great. I dont even know why I stopped by. Everything was super awkward and I just had to move on with my life. It is a really weird situation that we are in. Sometimes i am really impulsive with what i eat and i decided to try this place. i really did not enjoy it but it wasnt terrible. I might go backs if i am feeling impulsive.

It’s on an irresistibly charming corner in Tribeca, right by the Franklin Street stop on the 1 train. My boyfriend, a New York law school alum brought me to Pecan, saying that it’s the perfect spot for us to get some work done before heading out to dinner. New York law school is just a couple of streets away and he admitted that coming back to Pecan was a bit nostalgic. You are immediately attracted by the floor to ceiling windows that surround the entire space. And the brick walls and high ceilings are just a few reasons why I fell in love with Pecan. Their food menu has everything from brunch items to soups, sandwiches, salads, parfaits, and pastries. You order at the register, pick it up when your name is called, and bring it over to one of the long communal wooden tables. They serve your food or drinks in a very cute antique-like tray, reminiscent of an early 1900’s Paris. And the tea and caffeinated drinks are served in a clear glass cup, which adds to the Tribeca-like experience. I am very much in love with their chicken chipotle sandwich– the focaccia is so good. It’s flaky like a croissant but has the consistency of a bread. It’s delicious. Their muffins were very buttery/cakey and fattening aka delicious! There are plenty of people that grab items to go, but I found myself spending a prolonged period of time with my green tea and almond poppy seed muffin. Their wifi(Pecan, no pw needed) is very fast, and you won’t feel out of place with a laptop or books. There are a few outlets in the back, close to the bathroom, and in the front, by the window. Their bathroom is so big and so clean, which made me like the place even more. Clean bathroom = clean kitchen! I don’t know why other Unilocalers are giving this place 1 – 2 stars. And they close at 6PM.

Im not one for complaining publicly about a restaurant or a product but Pecan has really made it easy for me to do so today. I was forewarned about a friend of a friend who once found a bug in the food, but with its A grading on the door and the small amount of cafes to choose from in the area, I still decided to try it out. My mistake… For one, Its truly annoying that they cant make any changes to their sandwiches. Want mayo off your sandwich? Too bad! Want cheese off your sandwich? Too bad! What kind of bourgeois customer would expect such a thing from a full service café? The service sucks. Why is there always a giant disorganized line if everything is pre made? 7 – 11 doesn’t seem to have this problem, which seems to have the same quality of food. So then today, I ordered for my bosses as well as my self and received a soggy, smushed, torn apart, sandwich. When I called to have another one sent, Pecan: «Our manager is out, please call back later» Bourgeois Me: «Can you send another one in the interim?» Pecan: «Our manager is not here, callback later, CLICK!» Hung up on and left with this poor disgrace of a Chicken Chipolte sandwich in the image attached. Grandaisy is much better and in the area. Sincerely, Sandiwchless Jess

This review is specifically regarding their cappuccinos. The best. Delicious. Great place to come and read paper on a weekend morning. Also– the guys who come here aren’t hard on the eyes :)

Turkey Burger = COLD&HARDGRAYBURGER Salmon Sandwich = FROZENTASTELESSSANDWICH Spicy Moroccan Chicken Sandwich = HALFCOOKEDHALFICYSANDWICH(wtf?) Need I explain more? Wow I have never paid so much for crap. I came here with some of my colleagues for lunch. Please don’t make the same mistake as us! The turkey burger was rock hard, cold, and the patty was gray! A cheese burger from McDonald’s would have tasted 100x better. My other co-worker ordered the spicy Moroccan chicken sandwich in which he bit into warm bread and cold chicken. I bought the salmon sandwich. The menu said salmon but I felt like I was chewing on paper-like substance. The white and pink patty(ingredients unknown) was dry, crumbly, and tasteless. The saddest part was the mustard sauce because it was actually the best part about my sandwich. The only seemingly edible food at Pecan would be the soups. Half a star for the soup and the other half for having chairs and tables. Stay away from this café my friends.

Decent food, decent price. They had a few interesting looking sandwiches but they don’t taste nearly as fun as they sound. The sandwiches and salads are also premade, so it really loses that fresh new york feel that every other place offers.

Food is alright but the staff have serious attitude issues. They are rude and obnoxious. I’ve been a few times over the past 2.5 years and its always the same thing. Today I was waiting attentively for them to call me for my sandwich and finally after 10 minutes went up and asked what’s going on. They told me they already called my name and then I waited another 10 min for my sandwich. Very rude. How hard is it to call someone properly? I guess they don’t care and enjoy giving patrons a hard time and cold food. The staff seem tired of their jobs, not great for a café… I would avoid this place and head to Edwards down the street.

Perfect lunch spot. The combo(soup, small salad/half sandwich, fruit/chips, iced tea) is a great deal at ~$ 11, especially in Tribeca. Plenty of seating too!

This area of Manhattan is one of the oldest, with its layout really not making much sense at all. Some streets are right angles, some are triangles and then there are odd islands in the middle of a street with a building seemingly plopped there at random. It’s on one of these islands that Pecan sits. By Manhattan standards this is a medium sized café with a nice wide open space. Large windows allow light to flood in from two directions, illuminating the space beautifully. A wide counter display all manner of treats from sandwiches to sweets. On this particular day I was in need of chocolate milk after a hardcore workout and I came in expecting just a premade milk in a bottle or something. They didn’t have any(their assortment of bottled drinks is somewhat limited) but they did offer to mix one up nice and cold even though the menu only showed a hot one, something I was quite appreciative of. The staff was really attentive and quick. I really liked this café and look forward to future visits!

So I was looking for a place to grab a cup of coffee and a snack and I noticed this 6 foot super model looking women walking in to Pecan… Naturally, I figured if it’s good enough for her it has to be good enough for me so I went in. Grabbed a nice cup of coffee. Was served by a beautiful Selma Hayak looking women who was quite nice. Coffee was on the stronger side but good quality. They serve breakfast and lunch. Nice little place but a little pricey.
