Perfect Brows

This establishment sticks out amongst a row of other businesses on 181^st st. It is very chic and clean looking, which was a huge plus the first time I visited (about 2 months ago).
My first visit 2 months ago was to get my eyebrows waxed, however, I saw that they did threading for the same price ($ 7) and thought I’d try it out since I had been wanting to for a while. The woman who worked on me the first time was friendly, explained everything she was going to do, and then proceeded to do it very quickly. My eyebrows had never looked better and I was incredibly pleased!
On my second visit, about a month ago, another lady threaded my eyebrows. While she was hospitable and also made quick work with my brows, I didn’t feel as if they were as clean as they had been done previously. The shape was not as defined as I remembered them being the first time, which was a little disappointing. (Also, hence the 4 stars)
I am making a visit there today, and am hoping that I get the same lady as my first visit. I will update after!

First time coming here and it will be the last. I get my eyebrows threaded often (at a place I LOVE in Brooklyn) and today was the first time ever that I ended up with cuts. No Bueno!

This place is amazing. The ladies treat you so well, better than the upscale places downtown. It’s a must go, not so much because it’s upscale but because the staff is friendly and the ladies know what they are doing. When you go ask for Yoti I’ve been doing my eyebrows and Brazilian with her since they opened in 2011 (I think) and I loved it each time. Great place

For eyebrows this place is amazing, they do a great job. They give your eyebrows nice shape and it’s very affordable.
For Brazilian on the other hand I will give it 1 star. There is only one lady that does the wax and SHE DOUBLE DIPS! How disgusting is that. She’s very quick and gets everything off but they double dip. I’ve been there a few times and I never noticed she doubled dip until I started to get bumps once I noticed I stopped going over there. I was reading the reviews and no one pointed that out. Another thing that I noticed is that she doesn’t wash her hands, I know she has gloves on but you’re suppose to wash your hands before and after and she doesn’t. I know the place gets packed with customers but that doesn’t mean you don’t have to wash your hands because there is a lot of people. She just takes her gloves off and just goes on to thread someone’s eyebrows.
I’m giving this place two star just because of the eyebrows!

I want to slap myself for ever thinking that getting lash extensions from this place was a good idea. But I had a wedding to attend, no time to go somewhere else, and Perfect Brows is very close to my work. BAD IDEA!
Yes, the price is cheap ($ 25), but that’s because they use synthetic clumps of hair, NOT individual lashes that are carefully glued onto your own lashes by a trained and meticulous professional.
Here is the eyelash extension process at Perfect Brows:
Synthetic hair clods are hurriedly jammed onto your lashes/​eyelids with gobs of glue that harden into spiky lumps that constantly jab your eye. While the lady is poking gluey tweezers in your eye, you are expected to contort into weird positions in order to hold your red, watery, blinkey eyeball open while also holding a fan in your face to dry the permanent glue. In the end, the lashes didn’t even look good — she used super long lashes of uniform length along my whole lash line, which made me look like a sloppy drag queen. And the glue was so spiky that it poked my eyeballs the whole day and I ended up ripping some of my eyelashes out while I was sleeping because I was rubbing at my eyes so much. They were so uncomfortable/​painful I had to remove them the next day. And in process several of my own eyelashes came out. Leaving a few tiny patchy bald spots.
The only other service I have tried here is the eyebrow threading, which is awesome. I have no complaints about the eyebrow work, they really do a great job at threading and shaping brows.
CONCLUSION: This place does perfect brows, but NOT perfect lashes. If you want cheap lashes, there is a sneaker/​jewelry/​small appliance/​perfume store in Harlem that has an eyelash table and tattoo table in the back of the store. Lash extensions are $ 12 and probably better quality than the ones at Perfect Brows.

I vacillate between 3.5 and 4 stars for this place. I must say I hate threading but the price, location, and the fact that most of the ladies do I good job keeps me coming back.
I recommend finding the lady you like and sticking with her. I didn’t do that once and ended getting skin lifted from my lips from a wax. All healed well but seriously shouldn’t have happened. Didn’t realize it until I left. Don’t let that deter you, they’re more of a threading place and don’t do wax much. Stick to the threading here.
Pros: they’re fast, cheap, do a good job with threading eyebrows, and have a reward card (after a few threading sessions you get 1 free just have them stamp your card.)
Cons: they usually talk on the phone while they work on you. Pretty annoying but I’m sure if you ask them to focus they’ll stop.
They also accept cards.

I hadn’t done my eyebrows in about two months, my favorite place was too far and I’m too lazy (haha). Anyway, I just moved to the neigborhood, and decided to give this place a try. I was freaking out internally because I thought they were going to come out horribly, but my eyebrows have never looked this good. I am so glad I came here to get them done! I’ll be back!

I used to go to this eyebrow place before all the time, but stopped going because i found another place closer my job. Last week i went back to fix a henna tattoo i had gotten done and oh boy, it was fantastic. Abby did my henna and it was truly a work of art. Yuty (Not sure if i am spelling her name correct) has always been super pleasant and kind. My eyebrows always look perfect when she does them and i cannot believe i ever stopped going in the first place. i recommend these fabulous ladies, next time you need anything done!

I hate getting my eyebrows waxed because usually it hurts like hell and annoys the crap outta me. I came here to get my eyebrows threaded for the first time and I loved the results. The place is tiny but cute However their people skills are wack.

I’m reviewing the perfect brows on 181^st. I just want to start by saying I can’t believe I just wasted my money. I went in this morning having passing here before and I asked if they did eyelash extensions (because on the signs I saw nothing about eyelash extensions — but know that most places as this establishment does them) the lady told me yes. I asked her how much it was and she said it was only $ 15 which I thought was a good deal because a coworker of mine gets hers done at a local place by where she lives in brooklyn for $ 25 and her lashes ALWAYS look amazing. She can go swimming in them etc and they normally last her 2 weeks or longer. I tell the woman I want to have them done (not sure of her name but she had a ponytail and glasses). I had on mascara and a «tiny bit» of face makeup when I went in so she says she has to take off my eye make up (the mascara) I said ok– that was fine and she takes it off … Repeatedly for about 10 mins. Which 1. I thought was a long time to take off mascara and 2. She was using soap and water. What type of establishment such as this doesn’t carry eye makeup remover or something of the sort … After she’s done she proceeded to use what looked like a small paintbrush and (I’m guessing the glue) and put that onto my lashes. She left that on for again another 10 mins. And say in a chair beside me as well as made a phone call on her cell. The whole time I’m thinking why is this taking so long after the 10 mins she wipes off whatever she put on harshly and it ALL got into my eyes my eyes were blood shot red and I was telling her my eyes were burning she kept telling me to open them and I told her I can’t they are burning !! So she asks if I would like to go wash my eyes out in the bathroom and I tell her yes — because at this point my eyes are on fire. She stands by me the whole time and when I’m done rinsing and pat off my eye. She says. Your done. I’m thinking to myself when did you put in the lashes I felt nothing but glue that she put on. Then I look in the mirror and when I tell you my eyelashes looked the EXACT SAME as when I walked in they looked the EXACT SAME. I don’t write reviews at all but I warn you for this service DO NOT GO HERE !! I will not be returning at all and I honestly wish I would have gotten my money back !! It’s really a shame !! I realize that by the name eyebrows is probably what’s the specialty but don’t offer a service if you’re not aware of how to do it properly and staff is not educated enough on how to do the service !!! My coworkers eyelashes are long and pretty (which is the whole point behind eye lash extensions !) mine sadly look the same as at walk in. And trust me if I could give this business 0 stars and still write the review –it would be just that !!!

To start off, this place gets an extra star because the price is to die for and the ladies were both really nice. The location was nice despite the tightness of the wax room. I did not however enjoy the Brazilian at all. The Brazilian gets one star. She began very rough and I immediately knew it would be bad. I am no stranger to Brazilian waxes and that woman, was by far the worst. She took a while to begin because she needed to set up her headphone and mic as she spoke on the phone the entire time… RUDE.
I love when the ladies chat me up because it keeps my mind of it and this lady did just the opposite. I will give her that she was quick but she didn’t not give my skin time to relax, she went over two spots which later HURT LIKE HELL (mind you, I’ve never had pain after the waxing was done) and was very abrupt and rude about how to position myself.
I do not recommend this place to anyone. Idk if there’s another woman who does brazilians but I can’t even tell you her name as she never introduced herself.
Next time, I’ll splurge and pay to get it done well.

Let me preface this by saying that I absolutely hate having my eyebrows threaded — to me, it hurts so much more than having them waxed. And while waxes are technically offered, the women here prefer threading. So I go with it.
Anyways, this place is super close to my apartment, takes cards, and does a great job with shaping my brows. It’s also only $ 7 which feels like an absolute steal in NYC. The women are very friendly and efficient, which is just the icing on the cake!

I went to this place on New Year’s Eve to get my eyebrows threaded and I was by far surprised by how good the service was. There was no long wait like typical nail salons with a waxing section. Plus my eyebrows were so messed up beforehand since one eyebrow was thinner than the other and I kept plucking them out from time to time. Someway somehow one of the ladies miraculously threaded my eyebrows in a way that made them even again without taking to much hair or making them too thin. They were a great shape as well. I’m considering going in for a Brazilian soon, but I’ll definitely go back for eyebrow threading!

Worst service ever. I’ve been here for eyebrow threading, lip threading and a facial. all at completely separate times. and they were all horrible experiences. So much so that I don’t even have the energy to write about it or the heart to retell my terrible experiences. The customer service is atrocious. I thought that if I had kept going repeatedly, I’d find the gem of a person who works here and stick to them. All the ladies who administered the services were terrible…
and to think that my fourth experience would’ve been trying out a Brazilian with these ladies. uhh no thanks! I’ll pay the extra $$ and get GOOD customer service and relatively pain free waxing.
I just have the energy to warn people. I wish I would’ve had a great experience like some fellow Unilocalers below.
If you’re on a budget and want an amazing experience with eyebrow threading and facials… go to Unique Eyebrows (I like the one on 6^th & 23^rd). Professional and courteous service.

I’m not too fond of this place. I used to go here to get my eyebrows done, they weren’t friendly and they weren’t rude. They did a good job so I let it pass, hence the two stars.
However, I got a facial here… Do not get their facials. The woman doing it was on her phone several times and some of her spit actually fell on my face! They offer a robe to try on which looked old, cheap and had a stain. The facial itself lasted much too short, was not thorough and ultimately felt like a waste of money.
Eyebrows, yes. Facials, no way.

I’ve been to several. This is the ONE.
The place is perfect and my brows, perfect every time. The ladies are lovely and gracious in their service.

I tried this location for the first time today and I loved the way my brows came out. They made you feel like they valued your business. The next thing I will try are the facials.

Maybe not. In any case, I have dark, thick eyebrows that start at my hairline and end on my eyelid. I also take vitamins to make my hair grow, and it works… but most especially on my eyebrows. If I weren’t obsessed with grooming I would have bushy, grandpa brows. Eww. To prevent that I walk around with tweezers and a hand mirror. Sometimes when I’m bored I go to the bathroom at work and start plucking. I did that recently and gave myself the People’s Eyebrow (
). Luckily I’ve also been taking my vitamins, so they grew back in a week but now I’ve been afraid to mess with them myself. So grow they did and right before I looked like abuelo, my coworker recommended I check out the new threading salon nearby. So I did. And they look great!
This cute threading salon is the latest in a slew of businesses opening in Washington Heights, offering services that one would previously have to travel for. They offer threading, waxing, facials, body massages, henna tattoos and permanent make-​up. And they take credit cards for those of us who never have cash. I hope they have a lot of thread, I plan on being a regular!
