The Peter McManus Café sounds all cute, but, at the end of the day, it is really just a divey, dirty Irish pub. They do have a back room, which makes it good for groups. Plus, they brew their own beer, the McManus Ale, which is actually pretty flavorful. But, otherwise, this place is just eh.

Nice little sports bar with table service. I would recommend it for a quick drink and wings with friends. It’s too small to really be considered for game day but the tables are nice which may make it a contender if that’s important to you.

After a long day of Christmas shopping my sibling and I decided to look for Amy place near by to satisfy our grumbling stomachs. We fell a upon this Irish bar restaurant. I enjoyed the cheerful atmosphere of the people and good service. Fresh pot of coffee and delicious chicken fingers and steak fries. The burgers were ok, but the chicken fingers are exactly what I believe a chicken finger should be. Not frozen breaded fast food. Prices are reasonable. I really would like to try a steak next time or one of the delightful specials. Since it’s a bar maybe 1 drink.

10 years ago this place was a UCB staple. I’m sure it still is for some folks. And maybe I’ve just gotten older, but a warm $ 24 pitcher of beer and a mediocre burger doesn’t fly these days.

Great home town pub. Everything on draft is great and the food is surprisingly good for a pub. If you’re looking for a place to chill and enjoy a cold one… this is it.

Dirty dingy irish bar good for a drink and the crack with friends Fish tank is pristine and gorgeous. Guinness is delish. Art is interesting. 13 $ Fish and chips– is ok. It’s nice that there’s a veg side. Bathrooms are fine.

It is you typical Irish bar. Strangely, my first time here was on Cinco de Mayo looking for margaritas. The bartenders are nice but I did find one interaction to be a little aggressive when I misunderstood what he was saying. Other than that it was all good. The drinks were a bit pricey for the type of bar I thought. The décor was pretty cool though with old time phone boxes.

Alcohol is alcohol. Very divey. Maybe it’s not the perfect place to hang out on Cinco de Mayo, but it’s still a cool place.

Nice to have a local spot in Chelsea that is entirely no frills. Music is played from a jukebox– nice touch, with TVs showing some games on. Service at the bar could be a little more attentive but it’s good enough for me. The beer seems to pour nice and cold in the winter but a tad too warm during the summer, but spend enough time at the bar and you’re likely to get a buy back.

2 IPAs and Guinness on tap Which is fine with me. No pretension. No candles in jars or hipster bs. Also no annoying college students at least during afternoon on weekday.

Peter McManus is an awesome neighborhood pub. Great place to grab some Guinness, play music, dance, catch up with friends, etc. the place is actually pretty big which is awesome and the bar is long so there’s ample seating. I generally get here late after 10 or so and its always got some folks chatting and enjoying a few. The bartenders are good souls too!

This is the type of place I would never think to visit. much less frequent. But there is something to be said about the mix of people that come here. It may sound corny but this is the true NY experience. Black… white.Hispanic. .Asian. .gay.straight. .bi…blue collar. .white collar.young.old.middle aged… hard core functional alcoholics. and 20 somethings trying to outdrink each other with a few occasional tourists mixed in. Bartenders are really great and make some kick a$$ drinks. Food is great too. your usual barfare with some interesting specials. The burgers are delish. I highly suggest a bacon cheddar burger with grilled onions topped off with a fried runny egg(the egg part is not on the menu. .but they’ll make it for you if you ask nicely .The Reubens are fantastic as well. absolute dieters nightmare. But they do offer grilled chicken salads. .wraps…tuna…shrimp for those watching their waistline. Music is great. really nice variety. . McManus is a true NY family owned dive bar. this is such a special place. I hope things never change..

Stopped in for a few drinks while waiting for our friend and we had a nice time! This is one of those cool bars that is one of the oldest family owned in the city so I thought that was cool! The beers were well priced and the service was great! The bartender was attentive so that is always a plus.

Fantastic place, great drinks, yummy burgers. The whole staff is amazing! My favorite bartender is Lawrence though, he’s just awesome through and through. Can’t wait to go back. Best pub in town.

Great place, great bar staff, great jukebox. Just make sure you don’t sit at the bar just inside the door with your back to the window. That seat is mine.

After enduring a gruesome stressful and worn-out workday, a friend and I came here for some libation to chill the night away. When the standard eight hour workday is over, I escape to my many passions and good company. This party of two company was not enjoyable as I had hoped when the person whom you’re with was not in a good mindset killed the mood and makes it increasing difficult of his very irritable draining demon spirit. For Him: Long Island Ice Tea For Her: Cosmopolitan My dinner consists of: Tater Tots $ 4.90 Buffalo Wings $ 7.99 Peter McManus is not a standard bar but also serve food. Condiments are readily available upon arrival of food to the table or bar. I love bar food… tater tots, buffalo wings, burgers, Mozzerella sticks and fries as a foodie I’m open to all genres and ethnic foods. However to my dismay, this friend is a fool to keep a close mind for all things foodie as one can forsaken life’s daily bloodline as he believes it is does not excite him. Thereby making him a Petulant baby boy! Business cards are available by request of thermography printing with chessy /corny wording: «this card is not wroth anything But it is free.» Atmospheric conditions contains two old fashioned telephone booths with fully operational coin phones. It appears to be established for many decades as even their business card is without a telephone area code going back to the day when only Manhattan carried the 212 area code. TV screens are plastered on the walls for sports. Bar tenders are hustling busy serving patrons ergo, at times dismiss our summons for the bill to turnover this endless night. Ladies, there are no hooks under the bar for bags or personal belongings as you’ll have to put it on your lap while sitting on the stool. Patrons are a mix of young professionals, hotties, men in suits, fossils, sport fanatics, foodies, avid libation lovers, and bachelors. Peter McManus is certainly a tier above a dive bar but do not bear all the overprice of an upscale restaurant.
