Is a small cozy place. Went there for lunch, they advertise $ 10 lunch specials, so walked in to check it out. The waiter said all the entrees were $ 10, regardless of the price shown on the menu. So we ordered 2 entrees, a branzino and a pasta with clams. Portion on the branzino was small, but we figured, for $ 10, is ok. Branzino was good, but the spinach that came with it was extremely salty. Spaghetti with clams was also extremely salty, we washed it down with a liter of water! literally! When the check came, the branzino was NOT $ 10 as the waiter claimed, he then said only pasta was $ 10! Really? why didn’t you mention it when we asked?

Yummy, yummy, yummy! I come here often for lunch, because their $ 10 special is hard to beat. I love the octopus salad and spaghetti with vongole(clams). Service is super friendly, and they love kids. It is very small, so if you plan to come for dinner, I suggest you reserve in advance.

Liked this tiny Italian restaurant a lot. Grade probably might be higher except it’s so cramped it’s truly hard for non millennials. Most importantly the food was really delicious. Party of five started with four appetizers including a large salad. We ordered two bruschettas(second came out with toasted warm crusts and cherry tomatoes that exploded in luscious deliciousness). Eggplant dish was ok and other was non memorable. Arugula salad was good. Medley of different entrees but pastas are truly distinctive here. Two of us had spinach ravioli that was terrific. Pasta with tomato sauce was good. Dessert was ok but probably weakest link(2 orders of cannoli). Service was slow but pleasantly efficient. If it wasn’t so crowded and packed like people were on top of you I’d have gone higher.

Walked in here for dinner on Thursday night as we were in the area for a show. A small storefront restaurant with maybe 30 seats tightly packed together at small intimate tables. Had the following: Bottle of Primitivo($ 36), Burrata with prosciutto($ 23), Ravioli Wild Boar ragu($ 16), Branzino with spinach($ 16), Chocolate Cake($ 9), a Cappuccino($ 3.95) and a shot of Sambuca($ 8). Portions were on the small side, but all were tasty and satisfying. Would go back if in the area again.

Bland. Tasteless food. Microwaved meatballs. Only good thing was the texture of the pasta, but might as well have plain pasta as I would know what to expect from the dull flavour. Oh and the waiters can barely speak English.

I wonder how they run a restaurant like this with such awful mismanagement. I made a reservation yesterday for my friends birthday. And it was a surprise dinner for him along with 2 other friends. The reservation was for 9pm and we went there at 9.05pm and they asked us to wait outside for 5 mins until the other party leaves. 40 mins passed and nobody even came out to check on us, or say anything about what’s going on. I went back inside the restaurant to ask them and the manager and servers were clueless about how they will give us a table. And even worse and disrespectful situation was when they sat a table who came after us, while we were still waiting outside. This is bizarre! The other customers get in and get a table ready right away and we don’t. And finally we had to leave that place after waiting outside for an hour, as they couldn’t provide us with any table. My question is why would they take a reservation when they are that overbooked? I’m never going back there where they have such disgusting management.

I’m pretty sure this place is underrated. A group of us came last week for a quick dinner for an off-broadway show. We got a bottle of wine to split between the four of us. I ordered the daily special — this gnocchi dish. It was delicious! The size of the dish wasn’t too large nor too small — it was decent sized. My friends all ordered the lasagna which they said was delicious! The service was nice as well.

Great Italian restaurant! Awesome food, I loved everything from the appetizer to the dessert. Service was excellent, attentive, and courteous. I will be looking forward to the next time. Definitely recommended!!!

The name is very appropriate – the entire place is tiny, and the open kitchen consists of only portable electric burners, but it turns out great fare. Recommend starting with a fish crudo, and getting one of the homemade pastas(the special was strozzapreti with cingiale(wild boar), an Umbrian staple). The wine list is great as well – they carry Morellino Di Scansano, a hard-to-find favorite. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

Not quite sure why this Piccola has worse reviews considering how it’s almost the same as the Piccola on Spring Street. After working in the area for over a year, I’ve dined quite a few times at both the Spring Street location and the Prince Street location. Both has its charm and pros and cons. The Spring Street location is closer and more on the main street(also across the street from Dominique Ansel) so it’s always very busy during lunch. You have to come early or later to beat the lunch rush. The Prince Street location, since it is on a quieter street, has less people and is therefore easier to get a table during lunch. They also have different pastas — including gnocchi and lasagna, which the Spring Street location does not serve. the Prince Street location is also still only $ 10 for the lunch special while the Spring Street location raised its prices to $ 11. I really enjoy coming here for a hearty lasgana or risotto during the colder winter months. It’s a great spot to come in and get a quick lunch.

Piccola translates from Italian meaning«small» which this place certainly is. The staff is friendly. The food is pretty good and reasonably priced for Soho. I have to give props to the burrata which is fluffy and heavenly creamy. The prosciutto is good quality as well. Overall the menu selection is good and the plates are tasty with its selection of Southern Italian fare.

Great surprise! I was almost crying — I was to much tired of American-Italian food that I was so happy to discover this place. Bruchette, tartare di manzo and arancini, tagliatelle porcini/ragu — everything taste like in Italy! Very taste and when accompanied with good Italian wine it makes you feel happy! One thing — the place is very very small but it is impressive how guys manage to serve food fast — very impressive fast and polite service. I will definitely come back! Bravi, ragazzi! ^_^

This place is absolutely fantastic. My wife is straight off the boat Italian, and will tell you that this is one of the best places in New York. My children(3 teenage girls) never want to go out an Italian restaurant because it’s never as good as Mom’s or Nonna’s. Well that was not the case here. They ate everything that was ordered insisting that they each try what the other ordered. We ordered daily specials as well as standard items from the menu and we felt satisfied by all. The staff was great starting with the sister restaurant at 196 Spring street. We made a mistake in our reservation and one of the staff was understanding and walked us over to this location speaking to the host explaining the mistake and they couldn’t be kinder in accommodating us. The staff was quick with recommendations and sharing with my wife in Italian and the family in English about the food and just friendly conversation. Skip the touristy little Italy and come for to an authentic Italian cuisine.

We stumbled on this place and soooo happy we did. Family atmosphere with exceptionally outstanding food. Being Italian it’s usually hard to find an restaurant that can meet you expectations… this place blew us away.

Had a table reservation via Open Table, when I showed up the place was full, not a single seat available. It took 10 minutes before anybody paid attention to me, had to wait till some table was available, so I just left and went to another place. Even if they had a table for me I probably wouldn’t have stayed, the place was terribly crowded with people sitting back to back and no space between tables, can’t see how anyone can have a comfortable dinner there

I would defiantly recommend coming here and trying any of the pastas. I really enjoyed the risotto and the farro. All of the dishes at the surrounding tables also looked delicious. I think I will be heading back in very soon. Great place to come in and take a break from shopping!

So so so so good. Stinks that it is so small… But the food is absolutely to die for! The meatballs… Oh the meatballs. The caponata, delicious. If you make it to a main course, you will not be disappointed. The burrata, the arrancini, and then please please please order the mini cannoli. Everything just works. Works really well. Doesn’t hurt the staff is super friendly and good looking! We can’t stop coming here! It is just that good!

The menu is fairly authentic Italian, not much by the way of «American Italian» dishes you find offered in other Italian restaurants in the city. Food was decent enough, but I am unlikely to go running back. The space is incredibly small and tight, but hey ho, it’s NYC. If you go in the warmer months and you get a table in one of the open doors at the front of the place you have a pretty decent vantage point for people watching if you’re into that.

We loved it! My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and decided to spend Saturday evening in the Village.(On our way to see«The Imbible» at the Soho Playhouse). This restaurant was«just plain cool». Food was excellent as was the service. Had bruschetta, a pasta dish with shrimp and mushrooms, as well as cannoli for dessert. You’ve got to love fresh pasta. Waiter was friendly, knowledgeable, and very attentive to our needs during the entire meal. We sat in a doorway to the street, which made it seem even more quaint. Thank you for a great evening.

Food: Food was tasty but nothing to write home about or recommend to others. Setting: It’s called Piccola Cucina for a reason. The place is really small. Can seat about 20 people max. Service: Horrendous! There were two servers for such a small place yet we waited so long to get our orders in, to have our food cleared, to even get the attention to one of the servers to refill our waters.(Did I mention that we were the only minorities in the place???) It seemed the servers were only interested to cater to the more well-dressed/older patrons, who were more likely to leave a bigger tip.* *For the record, my party of 3 other girls(in their mid-late twenties) just got out of work in the neighborhood and were not dressed like college bums. Save your money. You can get bigger portions in a bigger place with better service in Little Italy.
