A year ago it would’ve been four stars. But I just revisited this for a second time and it was highly disappointing. No more mash/peas/gravy topping. What?! Blasphemy. The pies were only okay flavor wise(thai chicken and beef stew). I actually didn’t feel like finishing it and that’s really rare for me. Also walking into the place it looked pretty depressing. I should’ve left the moment I saw the worn down atmosphere. Will not be visiting again.

I finally tried this place for the first time last month and I’m definitely a fan. Customer service is great and the staff is always so friendly. Plus I love the atmosphere. The first time I had their chicken pot pie — which I LOVED! The 2nd time I did the pulled pork — not so much as the bbq was sickeningly sweet. :( So, choose wisely with your pies! But otherwise, I’m definitely a fan and will definitely go back. I also like that they have lunch specials. ^_^

After a long graveyard shift, I came in at about 8AM and wasn’t sure if I wanted breakfast or dinner! A very friendly staffer showed me around the selections. In fact, «friendly» seems to be the store’s theme — the whole ambience is warm and welcoming, and even the pies have little smiling faces. Less welcoming was the price I was quoted for one ham/egg/cheese/potato pie — something around $ 6.50. I was pleasantly surprised when I realized she had gotten the price wrong and it was actually two dollars cheaper — a much more suitable price. So, as to the pie itself. It was a good size, quite filling, and with some of the fluffiest eggs I’d ever had — but almost no ham at all! I think I found two or three tiny pieces, which was very disappointing. Still, the friendly and inviting atmosphere makes me want to go back — but if I do, I’ll definitely be getting something different.

I’ve always seen this place but never ventured in until a couple of weeks ago. I love pie but this place is quite a disappointment. I got the thai curry pie and an apple pie. The thai curry was alright. It tasted like a chicken pot pie. Needs more thai flavor! I shall try a different kind of savory pie as this was a disappointment. The apple pie was also sad. There was so little filling to the amount of crust/dough. So sad. I must admit, once you go in, you are surrounded by the smell of baked goods and the smell of butter. It smells pretty good. These pies are expensive for no reason. I don’t see why they’re special besides having a face drawn on it. Meh. This should be 2 ½, but their crusts is pretty good. I’ll come back one more time to try another savory pie.

I love pie. And I love that these Pie Faces are popping up all over the place in Manhattan! I will say that their dessert pies are much better than their savory pies. I met up with my sister-in-law at this location for a Sunday lunch. The cashiers behind the counter were all very nice and the two of us shared the steak pie and pulled pork pie(stacked). When you get it stacked, you get mashed potatoes, creamed peas, and gravy over the top(an additional cost). I also got an amaretto latte(very sweet) and sis got a smoothie. The pulled pork pie was too sweet, but the steak was good. The space is open and clean, but doesn’t have much of an «ambiance.» Best advice is to pick up pies here for dessert!

It was just ok. My friend and I stumbled upon this place looking for a little snack to eat. Seeing something cute, we went in. The place is pretty cute. Lots of smiley faces everywhere and on the pies as well. I just wished they tasted as good as they looked. We ordered 5 pies and one cheesecake. The sweet pies: apple, blueberry, cherry, lemon, and chocolate. They tasted like any other kind of cold pie you can buy from a bakery. Nothing special about the flavors, and I wish they were a little warm. Cute idea, but poor execution. This place could have been great! The price is also a bit expensive for a small pie. Almost 4 dollars for one.

Wow, how could I not know about this place for so long? Thankfully, my aunt brought me to this place a week ago. What a find! Love the cool vibe of their reclaimed wood interior design. They made wood hip and modern. I love the incorporation of cool graphics too — from the walls down to the packaging. As for the food, tasted great. I found the concept of mini pies new. Even newer and cooler are the exotic/unique flavors they come in like curry. The prices are fair and the service of this café is great. I will come back again. To relax here after surviving the packed crowds shopping at the nearby Macy’s.

Came to Pie Face in a failed quest to find some food in midtown, since everyone opens around 11… And the other places were just a few step too far away from me this morning… Small, cozy and decently priced. I ended ordering a Chicken couscous soup and a freshly squished orange juice(always go for freshly squished on juices! Hahaha yeah that sounded a little off) The soup had good flavors, but the couscous was a little too mushy for my taste… the orange juice was good since it wasn’t overly sweet. I will definitely come back to try their pies at some point… I guess I will end up going to get some phở in k-town later on today. Haha

This seems to be a new chain popping up in the city since I last visited NYC. I asked the server which savory pie was the most popular and she said the chunky steak. I tried it, but I didn’t like it. It was a little too salty and the steak had a weird texture. The café had a cute setup though. I’d go back to try the other pies. They also serve coffee.

Got the opportunity to try other flavors, bbq pull pork was wayyyyy too sweet, philly cheese steak inside tasted like hot pocket fillings. Beef and tomato is just ok also… I guess only the thai chicken curry is good… I will be back just to get the thai chicken curry but wont try the other flavors again. Also there is this guy who works in this location that seems to be so stressed out by the lunch crowd. I ordered my chicken curry pie but after walking back to my office I realized he gave me bbq pull pork instead(my least fav, only ate one bite and threw it away). He also took the money from the lady in front of me and forgot to give her the pie she ordered…

We seamlessed the food so my review may be different but I think you’d also be upset if you found some metal wire in your food!(Cf. picture) The 1 star is because the trays and logo were cool and delivery was supposed to take 45 – 60 mins and it got here in less than 40 so thanks guys cause we were starving. Details below: We got 6 mini quiches selecting all the 6 different types of quiches(and I probably only liked 2 of them, namely the ham and cheese and either broccoli or spinach or provencal. Couldn’t even taste to be honest nor could I tell which one was mushroom or had goat cheese in it, etc.), the mini chicken n bacon sausage roll(which deserves 1 – 2 stars, nothing too exciting), ham and cheese croissant(the ham or cheese tasted funny, the croissant seemed old, we should’ve just made it ourselves instead of paying ~$ 5) and a pork n beef sausage roll(which tasted nasty…). But as I mentioned before, guess what we found in that roll: yes, a TWISTYTIE!!! There was this green little thing and we thought it was some vegetable. I bit into it and it was so hard I thought it was some bone. How did they manage to have a twisty tie stuck in the meat, seriously. I’m so upset I want that employee fired right now!!!

The layout of the place is really nice and clean. There weren’t too many or little selection of pies. I wanted to try their blueberry sweet pies but I will try it another time! Will update another review for the next time I splurge here! I didn’t know what to eat for dinner around so the clerk at the desk recommended the Steak stacks and it was a not bad. It was a steak pie with mash potatoes and peas and the combination made a nice comfort meal for me after a long day of class. Other than that, I gotta try everything else since it seems so nice and new since the last time I was around here.

Goodness Gracious. If you love chocolates head there now now now. They have the best chocolate pies. These Australian Pie Chain look very upscale and trendy. Their service is very efficient. I tried some of their savory pies and they were ok and they seem steep obviously you wouldn’t want to stop at 1 or even 2. And the dollars add up. The mini chocolate pie is a treat and seems inexpensive somehow at 3.25 a piece cause its just about the right size if you were watching your calories and has a truffle like taste. This location is open 24 hours. yayyyy

I’ve been here a couple of times, and both times tried the mini apple pie. It was awesome, but when they say«mini» they really mean it. I’ll have to go back and try some of their other pies. Other than dessert pies, they also have steak, chicken, etc.

Pie face is an Aussie favorite that has recently sprung up all over midtown. They serve mini filled pies in various flavors, each marked with a different smiley face to differentiate. After trying out a number of these pies, I’ve decided that they are only okay. Some flavors are a little bland yet greasy at the same time. Not sure how that happens, but I don’t think they are really worth the calories. In fact, I’m having trouble right now even recalling which ones i liked. I want to say I liked the Thai chicken curry one and another mexican style one with spicy ground beef. I’ve also tried several of the sweet pies they have, and while most are just okay, I remember liking the pecan pie the best. Overall, I think that these pies are quite expensive for what they are. While interesting to try, I wouldn’t recommend to anyone who wants something actually delicious – there are plenty of other places to go in NYC for delicious eats!

I had heard about this place for awhile, but I didn’t want to venture uptown for it. When it opened up a block away from my office, I knew I had to try it. I came here for breakfast. Got the bacon, egg, and cheese mini pie and Aussie Iced Coffee. The pie tasted like it was just made and had all the flavors you expect in a breakfast sandwich. The Aussie Iced Coffee. OMG. I am dreaming about it now. It might be the best drink I’ve ever had. It’s espresso and ice cream. I die. Plus a cute Aussie served it to me. Win/win. Knocked down a star because it’s pricey. The mini pie and coffee(small) set me back $ 12 which is a lot for breakfast.

So I came back again and I noticed that the line situation was improving. This is good thing because people are going friggin nuts over these things! I tried three more pies and overall I enjoyed these pies more than the two I previously tried. Pie #1: Beef and Tomato Not horrible. Reminded me of a pasta meat sauce. Pie #2: Chicken Curry This tasted like chicken pot pie. If I was not told this pie was suppose to be curry flavored, I would never have guessed. So I suppose if you like chicken pot pie try this option! Pie #3: Chicken and Mushroom w/the stack This was the best pie yet! Full of flavor and I didn’t even taste the mushrooms. The stack was okay. Peas and mashed potatoes with a tasteless gravy. Overall, I’ve noticed all of the savory pies are very dull and have little interesting flavor. I may have to start adding my own pepper. I still kick myself over the fact that I spent $ 2.75 on a bottle of coke. Next time I’ll just bring a water bottle and buy a sweet pie. I may have to try a sweet pie now…

I came to this new Pie Face twice this week — love a new place for lunch around the office! The setup of the restaurant is terrible, and causes lots of congestion by the door. It’s best if you check out the menu beforehand and know what you want — then you can step inside and walk down to find an open cashier for your order more quickly. They have two kinds of pies, sweet and savory. The savory ones are similar to American pot pies. They are filled with your choice of meat or vegetarian savory toppings. I thought one pie was a good meal. For a few extra dollars, you can also get your pie as a «stack,» which means with mashed potatoes and gravy on top, with a little bit of peas. My first pie was the chicken and mushroom — huge chunks of chicken! My second was the beef, which was also very meaty. The sweet pies are small and more like tarts, depending on which one you get. I’ve only had the pear and ricotta, which I liked, but it was too expensive at $ 3.22 for a tiny tart. I’ll definitely be back as this is only a block from my job, but I do hope they figure something out about the line and ordering system — otherwise I’ll be relegated to visiting during off-peak hours!

The steak is too salty. Curry chicken is a bit bland(barely tasted any curry flavor), but the pie crust for both were nice and flaky. Best one was probably the chicken and mushroom; it’s something akin to a chicken pot pie, but less soupy. They also have vegetarian options. My coworkers liked the tandoori veggie pie. To be full, you’d need two larges or maybe 3 small ones. I’d stay away from the coffee though; it wasn’t that good. Also, they label the pies with happy faces on the pie itself. Kind of super annoying when you’re buying a large order for a group.

Well smack a pie in my eye! I’m thankful for the new business in my NYC but dudes, for an $ 8 lunch you get 3 mini pies and no drinks? I tried the Thai Chicken Curry, Minced beef and Tandoori veg pies. For some small pies, I did have a full belly but it’s kinda expensive? I looked on the website and each pie is baked with fresh ingredients. I’m not sure if I’d get a cravings during the summer for hot meat pies. How about two pies and a small salad? They’ll tweak it, I’m not sure if I’m a fan
