Pin Point Tailoring

I have been going to this place for the past 3 years, but now with the new staff working I will never go back! They over charged for a simple hem on a dress and refused to steam the wrinkles out of my dress when I went to pick it up. He also had to fix the dress a second time because it did not fit properly and he told me, «I was lucky he didn’t charge me more.» Staff was extremely rude and very inappropriate. I will never recommend this place again. They lost a good customer.

I took two sport coats and a pair of pants to be altered/​tailored. They tried to charge me $ 600! I had the work done down the street at a dry cleaning place for $ 150. Also, the guy who works there is not very friendly.

I just had some pants hemmed here.
Here is the deal:
Is this man the most customer friendly guy of all time — No
Does he have the cheapest prices in Murray Hill — No
Is he a good tailor and will your clothes look great — Yes
At the end of the day, if you really only care about the last point, then this is the place to go.

I don’t know why anyone would give these nice people such a terrible review? But me and my fiancé love them. We used to live in the area and had numerous amounts of pants and jeans hemmed ($ 20). I’ve also had a dress taken in which I felt was a little pricey ($ 60) but let’s face it this is NYC. We have moved from the area and we still go back to get our alterations done here. When you buy quality clothes you don’t want it ruined by someone that doesn’t know what they’re doing.
They’re very friendly and responsive. They have rushed our alterations on a couple of occasions. Most alterations are done next day. What more can you ask for?

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I signed up for Unilocal just to take the opportunity to report on this disastrous experience and warn other potential victims. I too had brought a couple of jeans and dress pants to this guy in the past– though the prices were somewhat outrageous for a neighborhood shop ($ 30-​$ 40 for jeans) the work had been fine. Despite the prices I returned today with a pair of jeans knowing id overpay but could rely on him to get the job time. Basically I walked in and politely asked how much to hem my jeans (bc it hadn’t been consistent in the past) to which he went absolutely crazy and told me to leave. Shouting «GET OUT GET OUT!!!». After that freakout no one should trust this man with your garments. Clearly he is unstable. Jeez i just wanted to take a few inches up on some pants, not be berated by a crazy man swinging a needle. Feel bad for the girl whose dress he went back to hacking away at as I ran out. SHUT THIS CLOWN DOWN

DO NOT go near this place, which is in my neighborhood. The guy is bonkers, and if you don’t believe me read the reviews on Google. Yikes! I’ve been using his services for several years without a problem. Then last week I brought him 2 pairs of pants to hem and a simple pull-​over-​the-​head sundress from Uniqlo ($ 29.99) that I wanted to be made into a skirt with an elastic waist. When I came back to pick them up, he wanted to charge me $ 20 each for the pants (high but reasonable enough) and $ 70 (!!!) to put elastic in the skirt. When I questioned it he started yelling. I ended up leaving him $ 20 and ran out. When I got home and tried the skirt on, the elastic was too tight. I took it to the cleaners in my building who are ripping out the elastic and and replacing it for $ 15. Lesson learned. From now on I walk to the subway on the other side of the street.
