Had picked up Pad Thai. Was the worst Pad Thai I ever had… I wanted good Pad Thai, but it tasted old and looked like it was scraped from someone else’s plate. :(Never again… maybe its better when you sit down?

We ordered take out from Pinto. The curry we order came with a side of dead ladybug. Displeased and grossed out.

I was in that area and came here because of good review on Unilocal. But the first thing I saw in my food was hair… the service was so-so…

Based solely off of my one delivery experience, Pinto was average. The flavor was nice, but it took over an hour to arrive(even though only 5 mins away by delivery bike), and wasn’t hot. I would try it again dine-in though. No chopsticks or napkins were brought.

just had a very enjoyable lunch at Pinto. Service and food are excellent. The interior design of the restaurant is pretty modern, but only few table served in the restaurant and with a small open bar. Also, one thing to mention, the restaurant is very hard to notice since there isn’t a big sign of the name of the restaurant at the door, so you have to really look in to the window to check if that’s the right restaurant; For the price, I thought that it may be expensive at first, but actually it is pretty cheap. I went during lunch time, there is a prix-fix lunch that cost eight dollar with a salad, appetizer and a main.

This is my favorite Thai place in the entire city. Last summer, I interned for a start-up that paid for my lunch and EVERYSINGLEDAY my boss would order from here. At first, I hated it because I ate their pad thai every single day. But after a while, I became obsessed. They have this lunch combo that gives you an entrée and an appetizer and it’s SO worth it. I would always order the Thai ice tea too. Soon, my boss went on a diet and gave me her grubhub account. I still ordered from here every single day… She ruined me. I’ve eaten at the restaurant a couple of times and it has not disappoint. My favorite dish is the crispy pad thai chicken. TL;DR: This place rocks.

Came here with a pal around 5:45 on a weeknight, and funnily enough, we had no trouble getting a table! They had a pre-dinner special — something like $ 15 for an appetizer, main and drink. Quel deal! I had the summer rolls to start — delicious. For my main I had the shrimp pad Thai — no complaints. And the Thai iced tea was INCREDIBLYDELICIOUS, as it invariably is. It took my friend a while to get the server’s attention when we wanted our check, but all in all we loved this place and I would definitely come back. I’m not sure if it’s affiliated with Pinto Restaurant in Brooklyn Heights, but both are great and worth a visit!

Came here on a sunny Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to have no wait. The décor is kind of dark but the setting is cozy. The tables are very close together so I could see this being frustrating on a busy day but as we got lucky, we did not feel cluttered at all. I ordered the PCU noodles with beef and although they were good, it was not my favorite dish and would not order it again. My date ordered the pepper steak and it was AMAZING. If I went back, I would definitely order this. A meal for two was a comfortable $ 30 without drinks. Overall, a great dinner and I would definitely go back! FYI — I felt a bit underdressed with my jeans and sneakers so the place is not as casual as other Thai places in the city!

Been to this restaurant once before for dinner, but too crowded to get a table(tiny spot), so I got a Candy Crush cocktail(really sweet) and left. This time I came in for lunch and the place is surprisingly deserted on a Wednesday. As others have noted before, the lunch special here is killer. For $ 8: Mushroom Crunch appetizer and the PCU Noodle w/chicken entrée. The crunch is six pieces of heavily fried thick cut mushroom slices with a sweet/tangy sauce to the side. A tad oily yet flavorful and an excellent starter. The PCU noodle is served hot with large portions of chicken and veggies. Could have been a little spicier though I was fine with it. Where they make their money here is the drinks; ordered the cheapest thing they had: a Singha beer($ 6). Service here is quick despite pick-up/delivery orders. Great value for lunch, especially for the area. NOTE: they don’t take Amex.

Had the Pad Thai to go and considering the amount that I paid for was not great. I had other Pad Thai’s in the city and in Brooklyn and far most this tasted really bland. They even charge you extra when you pick out what kind of meat for the pad thai. Are you sure you guys are really Thai owner’s? Like seriously, okay, the guy at the counter was really nice. Pad Thai Cons: It seemed to me they just put soy sauce over the noodles and the beef was NOT tasty at all! The noodles were sort of hard and It didn’t even have the other ingredients in it that was listed on the menu. Are the chefs’ lazy or what? I really had high expectations to this place because, I have had this bookmarked for a long time and I feel like I got ripped off. Sorry for saying this but yea. I wouldn’t come back to this particular Thai restaurant. There are many more Thai restaurants in the city to choose from.

You sure you’re owned by a Thai person and not Chinese??? First of all… Pad See Ew is a traditional noodle dish that’s served with broccoli… And you make it with unwashed sand infested Shanghai Baby BokChoy? Also looks like you never clean your skillet b/c this noodle has grits and leftover meat on it… GROSS!!! The taste doesn’t even come CLOSE to a traditional Pad See Ew… GROSSGROSSGROSS…

A tiny restaurant is the first thing that comes to mind. We were cold and hungry and managed to find a place that looked empty on Saturday night. Obviously when a restaurant looks empty it’s not a good sign but I mean we were hungry… The service was okay. The staff were really quiet. The curtain that they hang over the door does nothing to keep the cold air out, so as your eating or waiting for your food don’t be alarmed when a whiff of cold air comes over you… On to the food review: — DRINKS all range from $ 10+; some of the wine options aren’t sold by the glass, would have to buy the bottle which is only about $ 26 – 28. Drinks that we had were all standard in taste, as you can tell I don’t recall Any of the names. Nothing special(3⁄5) — PAPAYASALAD: again nothing special. It’s a papaya salad, I would hope that no Thai restaurant is able to mess this one up. But I did appreciate that their version was not Spicy.(3⁄5) + MUSHROOMCRUNCH: aka FRIEDMUSHROOMS. probably the best thing we had. The tartar/white sauce that comes with the fried mushrooms was delicious. I wish they had a baked version because I felt that it was a bit too greasy but it was tasty(4⁄5) — CHICKENPADTHAI(2⁄5): No. Don’t do it. I don’t know why, but the sauce literally tasted like burnt BBQ sauce. It was really dry, bland and not that good. I would suggest getting another dish. + S. K’s sautéed vegetables:(5⁄5) this was probably the best thing that we had as an entrée because it wasn’t dry! It’s a soupy vegetable dish and you can add protein for an added cost. It also comes with a side of rice. It tasted like the base was a sweet chicken broth mixed in with a bunch of vegetables. In general, not sure if I’ll come back when I’m here in NYC.

I brought my mother here for her birthday, since she had a craving for Thai food. I read up about the place and had high expectations. Let’s just say I was not disappointed. It’s a cute little place with limited seating. We went on a Tuesday evening and had no problems getting a table. They don’t take reservations. I’ve gotten so used to having just satisfactory Thai food that I was completely taken by surprise when I ate exceptional tasting thai food. Wow! What amazing flavors and large portions too. We were three people and ordered the Mushroom Crunch, Stuffed Tofu, Pad Thai and A La Panang. We shared them between us and there were plenty of leftovers by the end of dinner. The Pad Thai was really interesting. It had a smokey flavor to it that really made it something to remember. Would definitely order again. The Mushroom Crunch was really nice, although not my favorite as other reviewers have said. It was a very unique appetizer and the jalapeño tartar sauce went perfectly with it. The sauce wasn’t as spicy as I expected and was more on the tart side of things. It was a nice contrast to the rest of the dishes, which were more on the sweet side. I had no idea what to expect with the Stuffed Tofu. It was really just a large fried slab of tofu with pickled(?) cucumber and tomato inside, all slathered in a chunky peanut sauce. The combination of the different textures and flavors worked really well. I’m a sucker for peanut sauce, so there’s not much more to say. My favorite was the A La Panang. I had never tried this Thai curry before, but it’ll now be a staple dish when I eat Thai. It was sweet and spicy and creamy. I thought the heat was perfect, but it was a bit much for my fellow diners. Like I said earlier, the portions are huge! There was so much tofu in it, which was really great. Protein is important and they certainly didn’t skimp on it. The best part of the experience was actually the end. I had bought a little birthday cake for my mother and when I asked if they would let us eat it there, they let us. Not only that, but they brought us plates and forks and wished my mother a happy birthday. They were so friendly and didn’t kick us out even though we sat there for about 2 hours. There’s no doubt I’ll come back here many times.

Came here on a Tuesday night with a friend for dinner. It’s a very small space with not a lot of seating so it can get packed easily but luckily we were seated right away. I’m guessing there would be a longer wait on weekends. I had the chicken Thai basil(no rice) and it was really good. The portion is decent, not too small, not too large and the food was really flavorful. It had just the right amount of kick to it. I didn’t get any drinks but a lot of them sounded tasty so I’d love to come back and try them. The servers were friendly and prompt and our food came out really fast. Overall, a solid option for dinner in the area, provided you go at a time when it wouldn’t be packed. :)

Good green curry with beef. Nice flavors, lots of bamboo shoots, not overlooked beef. Mediocre pad thai. Tasted a bit too much like BBQ sauce for me but it’ll get the job done as far as pad thai goes. Crabcake starter was not a winner. Three small crab meat balls, fried but served Luke warm over mixed greens that were a bit to sour with fish sauce for a less than special starter experience. Good ambiance and quick service, but four stars seems like a real stretch.

This is one of the best Thai places I have been to in the city. The setting is very small, and you are practically bumping elbows with the table next to you unless you have one of the floating tables not along the back wall. But the food is delicious as are the cocktails. The tom yum soup was just what we needed on a cold day and they pour the broth into the content when they serve it. It was perfectly spiced and the flavored blended well with the enoki mushrooms and shrimp in the soup. The pad thai, lo mein, or green curry were all excellent. You wont be able to leave a unfinished bite. The wait staff are quiet but they are efficient, food order is taken quick and it comes out pretty fast well. Have been here twice already, will probably be back again. Intimate setting and ambiance, perfect for date night(if you don’t mind the close proximity to your fellow diners of course :)

If you go before 6PM, the price is awesome! $ 15 for an appetizer, main entrée, and a drink. I opted for the iced tea, tofu, and panang curry. Pinto Iced Tea — I would normally opt for alcohol, but I couldn’t resist trying this drink out. Yea, it’s just regular thai iced tea, but I thought it was pretty cool how you make it yourself. The tea comes with toppings, like condensed milk(correct me if I’m wrong). So, you can control how sweet you want your tea to be. Stuffed tofu — I’m a huge fan of tofu, but I can see where people would think it is.bland. However, this tofu is topped with peanut sauce, and that seals the deal. Panang Curry — I asked for it to be spicy, and it was perfect! It had a good kick to it. Portion wise, the dish is huge. You can definitely bring some as leftovers. My friend got the pad thai, and she said it was really good. Overall, I have no complaints here and I would definitely recommend!(At least for the sunset prices).

I decided to try this place again two years after my initial review when I was in the area. This place feels so much smaller than it did before and only pretty much had 5 or 6 tables. It was really cold on the day we went and we sat right next to the radiator which honestly became unfortunately warm — so we were able to experience both extremes. They kept opening the door for food deliveries which I find kind of weird, seeing as we arrived just around lunch time and I’m wondering that surely there must be a better time to deliver groceries to the restaurant rather than do it while people are eating? The place is really small so they bump into you every now and then. I wouldn’t really call it nice ambiance. We went for the prix fixe lunch special, I did the green curry and my girlfriend did the salmon. None of us finished it. It wasn’t bad or anything, but it really didn’t rock my palate as it did before. But it’s like $ 8 so there’s really not much complaining to be done — but I think you should add a few more $ and go to a proper place which leaves you satisfied.

Only $ 8 for an app and entrée? Now that’s what I’d call good value. Also, the food was quick and delicious, the service was friendly and attentive, and the space was comfortable/not too crowded or loud. My bf did a great job suggesting this location for an impromptu lunch date(well it was closer to 2:30, so my guess is the lunch crowd had come and gone). All in all, paying under $ 20 to feed the both of us and be left so full and satisfied I wasn’t even tempted to look at desserts, is what I’d call four star worthy!

Pinto Thai Iced Tea– This do-it-yourself kit contains a tall glass filled with Thai tea iced cubes, Thai tea, syrup, and cream. I love this method because you can adjust the flavor to fit your preference. The Thai tea iced cubes keep the tea from getting watery. Mix it all together with a long metal straw with an attached spoon at the end. It’s an awesome experience!($ 5) Crispy Roll– I loved the sweet chili mousse sauce, and the taste of the rolls.($ 6) Satay– This was one of the best satays I’ve ever had! It was very flavorful.($ 8) We ordered four entrée dishes. Each entrée was too salty. I would recommend trying their unique Thai iced tea and delicious appetizers, but I wouldn’t recommend the entrees.
