I was craving a sandwich and stumbled upon this place. The Mediterranean with chicken certainly hit the spot. Service was below-average to average — they didn’t seem happy to be there or care that I was there. If I’m ever in desperate need of a sandwich in Midtown West I might consider stopping by again, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to do so.

Delicious shakes, solid sandwiches, and decent soups. Peak hour lines move relatively fast but god forbid you have to come in here during non-peak hours. Service is slow AF and also kinda stank during those times. Doesn’t stop me from coming here all the time, though heh.

I ordered online and waited a FULL hour — 10 min before the expected arrival time I get a phone call they can’t deliver to me. HORRIBLEHORRIBLECUSTOMERSERVICE. I would have understood if they called me 10 min after placing the order, but after the order had been processed for OVERANHOUR. That is unacceptable — never order from here there are far better sandwich shops in NYC.

This is a great stop for quick lunch. Being a vegetarian, I have limited choices. Their Chickpea veggie salad is great. You can request for hummus instead of egg. It tastes delicious. Sandwiches are great, perfectly toasted with all filling in right quantity. Soups are good. Service is fast and staff is very friendly. You may also enjoy live music on some days. At the end, don’t forget to get their complimentary crackers :)

Ate here last year while in the neighborhood at a karaōke spot. The food at the karaōke spot was a no go(around the corner) so came here. Ate the Mediterranean sandwich with bacon. It wasn’t great but it defiantly filled me up. Overall if you are in the neighborhood it’s a decent sandwich spot.

I’ve been to a lot of Potbelly locations and this one is the worst I’ve ever experienced because they blatantly lied to me — twice. I ordered via Seamless and they confirmed the order immediately with a 30 – 45 min delivery time. An hour later I called to inquire where the order was. The lady told me the delivery guy had just left with my order and I should receive it soon. After about 20 min of waiting(now almost an hour late) I called back and they said that they lied to me the first time I called and that it didn’t leave when I first called but now it had really left and should be there in 5 minutes. I waited another 25 min. By the time it arrived it was about 1 hour 45 min after I ordered. I understand that telling a customer that«it just left» placates them for the short term, but if you’re too lazy to actually check on the order and would rather lie to them multiple times, it’s a lot worse than telling the truth and you’ll lose a customer for life. Never again, Potbelly on 56th and 6th.

So much better than subway. Perfectly toasted breads. Sliced chicken real chicken. Servers very helpful and happy to accommodate requests. Even checked after the meal to see if everything was good.

Decent midtown outpost of the seemingly always-expanding Potbelly.

Sandwich always tastes good but staff can be slow to get your order ready. Prices are fair. Lunch lines are long!

Good sandwich, decent service. We only went here because my fiancée is from Chicago and it is a staple over there. She longed for a piece of nostalgia and it was exactly what she wanted. I though the sandwich was just OK however. Not that it wasnt good but I am in the greatest city on earth with unlimited dining choices. Needless to say I would not come here had it not been a chain that sparked that feeling. I have in-n-out, some have white castle, some have potbelly. To each his own! Enjoy your sandwich!

I’ve ordered potbelly for delivery from other locations, but this was hands down the worse one. I placed my order at Noon to be delivered between 1:15 — 1:30. I called at 1:50PM because my food had not arrived. I forget the name of the woman I spoke with but she said the food was on its way. I called back at 2:30(an hour after the scheduled delivery) and the person on the phone tells me the order wasn’t even made. This could of been verified for me an hour prior to this. In short, I had to settle for something else because I used up my entire lunch hour waiting after the first time I called the woman told me the food was enroute. Long story short, not the most attentive shop of all the potbelly’s I’ve ordered from.

Stopped by here for one of their«big» sandwiches since I was pretty hungry, but was informed they were all out of the big size. That is a little hard to believe. I then went ahead and ordered a regular size. There was no one else in line in front of me. Service was very slow. I had to walk out since it appeared I was being ignored. Wouldn’t want to visit this location again.

Great service. Great food. The lady at the counter was so nice and patient. We came at closing time and they were so nice about it.

This location is odd. At some moments of day, it will be really busy. You will wait 15 – 20 minutes to get your sandwich. Then 5 minutes after you get your sandwich, there will be nobody else in the place. Odd. Anyway, I haven’t had PotBellys in a while so I figured I would go all out. Get the Bigs A Wreck sub with double meat and BACON. Oh yeah. Waited in line for about 5 – 10 minutes when the guy who asks what you want and what kind of bread called out to me. Seems like the people who put the extras(lettuce, tomato, etc) on your sandwich were holding up the line. I could see the sandwiches popping out of their conveyor belt toaster, stacking up. Anyway from ordering my sandwich to paying the cashier took about 5 – 10 minutes. Overall 20 minutes to get a sandwich. Not so great if you’re in a time crunch. Sandwich was good, but I was a bit disappointed that double meat wasn’t really double meat. The bacon was good, but wasn’t thick cut like they advertised it to be. And having toasted the bread — maybe it was stuck on the belt too long — the hardness of the bread caused it to scrape the upper part of my mouth, like Captain Crunch cereal. So 3 stars. Better sandwich places around that are more efficient and provide a better value.

I come here for one thing, their Bacon Cheddar Chicken Sandwich. It’s so good. You may be deterred by the long line, but it moves really fast.

Potbelly is Chicago-based sandwich shop chain that is big in the Midwest and has been making inroads to the NYC market. This location is a long narrow hole in the wall on West 56th between 5th and 6th Ave. This place is build for speed: you get in line and someone takes your order on a tablet device, which gets the order started by one team. Then after the sandwich comes out of the conveyor belt oven(like Quizno’s), there is a another team that finishes off the sandwich prep and then you are off to the register to pay. Very nice if you are in a rush. How are the sandwiches? Potbelly is by no means artisanal gourmet, but the food is definitely a big step up from Subway, Quizno’s or a corner deli /bodega. I often get the chicken and cheddar sandwich. It definitely does the job. The food is good, the service is fast and although there is not much seating, this is still a regular go-to lunch spot for me.

A glorified Subway. That’s what this place is. Potbelly does not do ANYTHING wrong. In fact, it tries really hard to do it right. I ordered a sandwich called«A Wreck» and was really excited when the guy said that my sandwich was«going in the oven.» With a name that includes the word«potbelly», I was expecting juicy, melt-in-you-mouth, savory, fatty pieces of plump pork and crusty bread all covered in melted cheese. Instead, what I got was a glorifed Subway sandwich. I mean, the sandwich tasted good. But with all the buildup leading towards this moment – the hip ambience, funky interior design, fun sandwich names, «potbelly” – I expected more. Two stars for great effort. Interestingly, there was Subway sandwich a few buildings down the street.

Potbelly’s is a MidWest sandwich chain. The first time I had the sandwich, I was pretty underwhelmed — its tasty, but I didn’t think its that special. Okay, the add whatever toppings you like thing is fun. The hot peppers are the best add on. And sure your sandwich is toasted. This location is average, with seating for about 20. The back seating area is actually a bit creepy because its so far back, but hey, a place to sit is better than eating at your desk. The location is also a bit narrow, which can be cumbersome when its crowded. I highly recommend the Chocolate Brownie Cookie. This is without a doubt, the most amazing cookie ever. This is the main reason why I go in to Potbellys. It is orgasmic. It is my cookie soul mate. It can solve World Wars and cure depression.

Thin cut double meat chicken salad no lettuce or pickles. You’re welcome. Potbelly is a welcome change to the fast food line-up.

I placed a pick up order on Seamless Web to avoid the lunchtime rush hour. I ordered two sandwiches. I went to pick them up and didn’t have to wait in line. The cashier asked my name and picked up an empty bag. Um, did they not make my sandwich yet? Oh wait, they did. AND they keep them in a separate oven to STAYWARM until you arrive to pick it up. And the manager, wish I knew her name, could not have been sweeter. Took time to answer my question about gift cards(spend $ 25 now, get a free sandwich!). And the sandwiches ROCKED. My roast beef was exactly like it is down in MD and the new Mediterranean was very good. «Who else keeps your sandwich warm for you?»
