Left disappointed. A few highlights: 1. I tried to connect my laptop to internet but it never worked. I ended up using the ATT wifi connection through the next door coffee shop. Not fair and probably not the right thing to do, but I had no other choices. 2. Coffee was not good. It tasted like the $ 1 coffee from the dollar tree. Not that I buy $ 1 coffee at the Dollar tree but I have a friend who does buy it and it tastes slightly better than the coffee I got at Pret A Manger. 3. I could not tip the employees. The cashier was nice and he deserved my tip, I did try to tip him but he said the company’s policy is NOTIPS. WTF? 4. Surprisingly there was some fundraiser B.S. donation box where the employee tip jar should be. I felt it quite annoying. I also got one of the pastries that was on sale… it does not even deserve my rating… let’s put it this way… when something does not taste good selling it for a cheaper price is not a good business practice… you rather take the hit and lose some money but never sell bad stuff to make an extra back.

Stumbled in here on our way back to the subway. Exceptional service and quite the refreshing Chai if I do say so myself. HUGE fan. Recommended to anyone who needs a caffeine kick if they’ve got a long trek ahead of them. Will be back!!!

I am a fan of Pret A Manger already, but this experience makes me want to seek them out when I need a break in the city. Lots of registers to take orders and the people are so nice! I didn’t need extra help or an issue to be taken care of to be nice to me, they were just nice to me because they were! The lady at the register smiled and greeted me, then took my order and directed me to where to pick up my order. The space is huge with lots of seating upstairs. That’s the one thing I appreciate about this brand, they allow their guests to stay for a while.

Love the spicy shrimp wrap. A little to much running down my wrist, but good nontheless. Chipper, friendly, and helpful staff. I like this location most of all.

I am sad that this location has gone downhill. Staff is still lovely but the food needs more attention. I just bought the falafel mezze salad I used to love. It was unwashed(sandy) and the small amount of tahini barely covered two of the extremely dry falafel balls. There are several take out spots on the block that are full of delicious and better values than a $ 10 salad like this.

The upstairs café is great – spacious with cushioned seating and wifi. One thing: why can’t the cashiers be even just a teensy bit friendly? Maybe a smile or acting in at least some way to suggest your are not imposing on their standing naps.

I’ve been to a few of these Pret A Manger, and they’ve been all pretty good(great free wifi, great staff). But the one here in Union Square is beyond awesome. Staff is not only super cool and friendly, but once in a while they’d give me free coffee!(And not because I come here a lot). Not only super fast wifi, but they have different wifi names in case one or the other is too slow. PLUS, they got outlets all over, esp. downstairs. And their coffee is good and cheap and a much better selection of foods — salads, soups, wraps, etc. This one is open til 11pm or midnight(other Prets are usually open til 8 or 9). Starbucks, in your face!

This place is always busy but I go anyway since its down the St from my office. This morning I got a rotten clementine and when I poured soy into my milk it was clumpy. Ew. Probably not going back for a long time

I like their soups and drinks and lobster rolls in season, a must. What I do not like is their lines, they have up to 5 and ppl are confused where to go. I told several managers that they should put short lanes, but they look at me like I do not know what I am talking about. I have been in business for over 22 years, and many customers are confused by their system and you can hear all cashiers constantly shouting that there are many lines. SOINEFFICIENT. If they did what I told them, it would solve the confusion and line skipping. Simple things like what Whole Foods did with their lines work. I often dread going there in peak hours cause of that.

The food is consistent at all locations. The staff at other locations are friendlier, but they’re not bad here. Today they ran out of coffee, completely and just laughed about it. So although I paid for a cup I left without any. Pretty big fail today :-/

Very convenient location near my school. If you have no time to wait in line, this is the place to go for a quick lunch. There’s soup, salads and sandwiches.

Unfortunately, this location is furiously busy, and the staff reflect that in their poor management skills. On a recent trip here for lunch, the customers formed a line at the registers, but the cashier yelled«there are six separate lines! Everyone line up in front of a cashier!» Since the registers are so close and there’s nothing to separate the lines, the crowd formed a confusing clump. People were rushing ahead of others, getting cut in line, and were generally frustrated. The actual line the crowd formed before the cashier took over was much more orderly. A cashier at an empty register nodded for me to come over. I did, and he immediately walked away into the back. I asked the other cashier if he was coming back and she just rolled her eyes and said she would take me next. After cashing me out she handed me a bag with my lunch thrown in and I made my way out of the crowd. Checking my bag before I left, I realized there were no napkins nor spoon for my soup. I looked around and the walls had spoons, etc, but NO napkins at all. Very strange. I walked to the side of the cash and asked a worker if he might have some napkins.(He was pouring drinks for people and at the time was standing behind the cashiers doing nothing.) He snapped back at me «you should have some in your bag.» I showed him I didn’t and he rolled his eyes and handed me a single napkin. That was an extremely stressful experience and I’m upset that it would ever happen at a Pret. I’ve often had fine experiences at other locations. This one, however, is TERRIBLE service-wise. The food here overall(as in all their locations) delicious. They maintain an exceptional quality of standard. As a vegetarian, there are always things for me that aren’t just salad, though the salads are good, too. I will not be returning to this specific Pret again.

The staff is very friendly here. There are lots of outlets by the seats by the register on the first floor. There are only 2 on the 2nd floor, so plan accordingly if you coming here to get some school work done. The music varies depending of the day, but seems extra loud on the first floor, and that’s coming from someone that usually does not give a crap about volume. There are booths upstairs and the restrooms are usually clean. Most sandwiches are good. I usually get the ham and cheese sandwich on a baguette. It has just the right amount of mustard. It’s my pret favorite. Avoid the tomato, basil and brie because it’s so gross. Also avoid getting baguette sandwiches towards the end of the day because they’ll very likely be soggy. Remember that practically all of them have mayo in them. I really like the salt and vinegar chips. They are crunchier and more vinegary than most chips of their kind. The soups are good, but I’ve seen them being thrown away by the staff too many times so I’ve stopped purchasing them because that makes me sad lol. Probably due to health code reasons(how long something can be «out”/temperature stuff & etc), but I’d rather not pay for that. For $ 4 for a small, I’d rather go to a diner for soup. The coffee is surprisingly not awful, even the expresso shots were acceptable. I’d suggest the kale chicken caesar salad, but honestly that’s the only pret salad I’ve bothered to buy, due to overpricing.

Wraps egg spinach pot or chicken pot… All yum quick and healthy Like so many places in NYC a code for the bathroom. Ask at front desk for code or if your lucky somebody will be in either and hold the door. Neither bathroom is gender specific. So definitely friendly #letmypeoplepee

I really love Pret. Fresh food, interesting combinations, health focused. However, I visited this Union Square Pret on a Saturday around noon, got my chicken avocado half sandwich, and chilled sweet pea and coconut mint soup, and walked to the upstairs seating area. It was there that I experience a very bad odor, and saw about 3 – 4 bums sleeping in the booths. Good thing there is a communal outdoor area right in front of the shop. I’m not sure I want to go back to this location.

I’ve gone to Pret twice now, at its union square location, and I definitely plan on heading back. The food tastes and is incredibly fresh, prepared daily. The staff always has a smile on their face and every now and again«winners» are announced by the cashier shouting«hey everyone! We have a winner». The line never takes longer than 2 to 3 minutes even if the store is packed. As for the price, it is modest, but the ham and cheese sandwich as well as the turkey were great and only about 7 $. I got some great«healthier» chips as well for another 2 $ and they have options from soups to salads and more. Such a better way to spend 10 $ then going to a fast food restaurant. Highly recommended.

Pret is a great spot if you want something quick. They have both breakfast, and lunch options. When I’m in the area for work, that’s usually the spot that I’ll hit up. The prices are decent, and there are a lot of options. ENJOY! PS: GOODGREENSTUFF, is a must gran juice when I’m there.

I know Pret A Mangers are everywhere in the city, but this location is top notch. I drop by almost every single day because it’s convenient, delicious, and organized. The employees are always so happy and enthusiastic, and I’ve gotten various free things during my visits, including an extra cookie here and there. My coworker even got a free lunch just for wearing purple one day. The fast and consistent service makes it that much more appealing. And honestly, their food is good and fresh, and they always switch up their offerings! Plus, leftover sandwiches are donated every night. Favorite things to get: — Five grain oatmeal(with quinoa) — Harvest cookie(basically an elevated raisin cookie) — Butternut squash soup — Kale caesar salad — Iced coffee — Mushroom egg sandwich on brioche bun Fun fact: They’re featured in the book«Demand: Creating What People Love Before They Know They Want It,» which gives you a glimpse into their philosophy and how they decide which new items to launch.
