Priscilla Queen of the Desert

This is without a doubt the best show I have ever seen! I have never laughed so hard in my life. We had tickets for Christmas a while back and were lucky enough to snag front row seats. This is the kind of show you WANT to see up close and personal! It makes it that much better!
Everything about the show is over the top — the music, the makeup, the costumes, the set, the humor! The cast was fantastic and the music selection is top notch! We had a blast singing and dancing along. My mom and I left with belly aches and mascara streaming down our cheeks from the hysterics we were in.
If you get the chance to see it – GO!

Would see this show AGAIN AND AGAIN. I took my mother to go and see this show for Mother’s Day last year and it was really incredible. The actors really seemed to enjoy being on stage and the jokes that they are telling. The writing was hilarious and really made the Mother’s Day experience that much more enjoyable for my mother. The costumes and the music were wonderful!
The story line is something that everyone can relate to and it was beautifully transitioned from the movie.

My first time trying the lotto, and my name was picked! My friend and I got front-​row seats, which was good, but by intermission, our necks were hurting, so we moved to the balcony. Was able to see the entire stage, although we definitely missed out on being dragged up on stage to dance! They pulled up everyone in the front row, and my friend was glad we moved! (I semi-​regret it… dancing on a Broadway stage!!!)
The show was HILARIOUS. Definitely not child-​friendly due to the language and clothing choices, but oh-​so-​funny. From the front row, you could see every muscle and rib of the dancers. Needless to say, I drooled a little. HOT.

My new favorite broadway show! It is a drag show on steroids.
They have the lottery for reduced ticket prices two hours before the shows. I got the. Cheapest ticket ($ 43) and because the theater was empty i was moved to the second level.
This show is NOT for kids. It was semi nudity, drug use, and mature language. Take ur kids to lion king and go with ur girlfriend to this show !!!

Fab! As an Aussie and as someone who puts this movie in her top ten, I was a little worried about the broadway adaptation and playing it for an American audience, but they kept it true to the story and anything they added, only added to the story! Was the first time I’ve cried during a musical. The young boy was so natural and talented, he just got to me. Sad that I hear the run is stopping!

What an amazing show! All I can say is wow! The show was so much fun! My friend Troy and I saw this show the other night, and we still can’t stop talking about it. What a feel good musical. We really liked everything about the show. The costumes, the uplifting disco hits, the campy choreography, and of course… the hot, beefy guys! Not an inch of fat on those buff dudes. Damn Mary! Now I feel so inspired to work-​out.
We were so glad we got to see this because the last show is on June 24. They should make this a regular in Las Vegas, and I’m also pretty sure they will make money when they go on tour. Don’t miss it !

SUPERBLY entertaining & hilarious. Great music, songs that everyone knows irrespective of age. Costumes were FA-​BULOUS! I had a smile on my face through out.

Fun and funny show, though some serious parts, and overall content may not be for everyone, which is too bad. The leads do a great job getting in to their roles, singing, and keeping it real.

You’ll laugh, you’ll sing, you’ll clap, you’ll dance, you’ll even cry… I absolutely loved this play! I got tickets for my mom for her birthday because we both had been wanting to see it and I am so happy we finally did. The actors are amazing, their voices are magnificent, they are hilarious, and they are all in better shape than most athletes.
The story follows three drags queens on an adventure on a bus through the desert of Australia. All of the musical acts were so much fun, set to all disco and 80’s pop music. The costumes were over the top and beautiful! The set design was perfect, the transition from scene to scene was smooth. The whole play just came together wonderfully and I had such an amazing time. Go see it, please, you will have a great time. I can’t see how anyone can’t enjoy this play, but in my opinion (and I’m sure many others) it is better to see with women!

I was surprised with dinner and a «secret» Broadway show as a birthday gift last night and it was perfect! We laughed, clapped or applauded the whole time. It was a full house and that everyone loved the show was evident in all the laughing faces in the audience.
Overall a great night and a wonderful birthday surprise!

A must see for a fun time. Musical numbers were entertaining and memorable. We got a great discount via TKTS DISCOUNT BOOTH. The South Street Seaport Booth sells tickets to evening performances on the day of the performance and matinée tickets the day before.

See it, see it, see it!!! Over the top fun, great oldies music. Better even than the movie. Priscilla Queen of the Desert (the bus) was fantastic! Costumes were amazing. Nick Adams was terrific as Felicia. (Not for young kids or unsophisticated adults.)

My Aunt got tickets for me and my husband to see this show on Broadway. It was super entertaining. I always love live music and they did such a good job making the songs shine.
The style is very similar to Wicked where they talk then sing. Talk then sing.
Overall, it’s a super fun show. They had a standing ovation at the end of the night.

This play was below average. I love love love Broadway and New York City and the arts. If you want to see an entertaining show staring men dressed in drag, there are plenty of drag shows in the city that are superb.
If you want to see a really girly show with sing along hits, there is a show right around the corner (Girls Night the Musical).
Both of these alternative options are cheaper and in a more intimate setting.
I will give Priscilla one thing, the costumes were pretty amazing. That was its only saving grace. Other than the costuming, this was all stuff that I’ve seen before done pretty averagely.

If I had to pick one word to describe Priscilla Queen of the Desert, it would be «fabulous» because the costumes, sets, makeup, and music truly were fabulous. The story follows three drag queens around as they journey around Australia. While the plot was weak at times, the fabulosity compensated for it. Huge feathery get-​ups, wild shoes, crazy stage makeup, singers floating from the sky, a giant light up bus… dayummmm gurrrrl. I was always visually stimulated, if not mentally. I thought the show had a really great message relating to gays and being accepted by society and their families. I almost shed a tear.

I adore costumes so it’s a no-​brainer that I adored this show! It was so fast paced, fun and funny. Looked like a exciting outing for women adorned with boas and cocktails in hand. Patrons can buy cocktails at the bar in covered cups and carry them into the show.
The music and wit keep a fast pace, and the audience never gets bored. Over the top but not over the edge. Highly recommend for a saucy night out.

This was a really hard one to rate because Act 1 of the show was 5-​stars. But Act 2 was barely 1.5.
I’m an avid lover of the movie from which the show is based. It is a perfect balance of camp and drama. Each method of conveying a story is impeccably used.
The stage version really dropped the ball in embracing the dramatic elements necessary to do the story justice. Without the drama, the show is just 2.5 hours of camp. Most of it was done well. But a lot of it wasn’t even necessary to drive the plot.
That being said, I was laughing, hooting, hollering, and crying so much that my jaw hurt and my voice was raw by intermission. My hands were red from clapping. I couldn’t stop lauding the brilliance of the costumer (the only Tony they won, mind you).
But then Act 2 came and I think I applauded twice: once for a random number which I cannot remember and at curtain call. I left thankful for the experience but really wanting to have seen more in the script development and the scenery choices.
So, I recommend the show for anyone who’s all about camp or gets a discount price. If you’re an avid lover of the movie and really one for plot-​driven shows, this may not be for you.

OH EM GEE this was sooooo much fun! Not because of the fabulous acting, gorgeous men or over the top bus but the storyline is one of my favorite!
Not to get too much into the story but you’re looking at a lot of laughs, a few tears and the strength it takes all of the characters to overcome many obstacles.
The props, sound, musical numbers meshed so well that I would love to see it again. If any of you like over-​the-​top Queens then this is the show for you!

I’m not really a fan of Broadway shows, but this was AMAZING! From the Costume designs and the great RV that steals the show… From comedy to drama and everything in between. This show has it…
I will never look at Ping Pong Balls the same again!

It was the most fun I’ve had on Broadway in a while… and by fun I mean FUN. It is truly a blast. Not a dull or boring moment.
