I just adore this brand and the stores

The worst store policy and corporate customer service ever! You should be embarrassed. I purchased a jacket on sale at the Manhasset store and was never, ever informed that items purchased on sale are final sales. There is also no sign regarding this ridiculous policy. As I was wishy-​washy about the jacket, the saleperson told me to take it home and try it. There are no stores at Rag & Bone’s level that have this policy and I think it is against the law to not inform customers. I called the Customer Service number online and after holding for ½ hour was told that was their policy and it is indicated on the receipt. Well, that means the only way I would know the policy is if I purchased it and then it would be too late. I didn’t even think to ask because no one has this ridiculous policy. I asked to speak to a supervisor and told her my story, she said she would check with the corporate department and get back to me. That was about 10 days ago. So they have definitely lost me as a customer, not that they care.

This store is staffed with the classiest most helpful people I have ever encountered in all my years of shopping in New York (which is my whole life). After intermix refused to replace a pair of defective jeans, the staff of Rag & Bone swooped in and saved the day! Not only did they replace my jeans, but I didn’t have to contact them regarding anything AND they shipped my new jeans to me, making my life even easier! This company and their employees are SO top notch. I implore you to only buy your Rag & Bone from one of their stores and avoid Intermix at all cost. Rag & Bone were always my favorite jeans, but now I have a deep respect for them as a business as well.

It’s conveniently located walking distance to the Path, including Men, Women, and Shoes stores.

This store is great. Most of their clothing is super overpriced but I’m addicted to the jeans. At 5’1″ and typically a size 4, I’m not big in any way. It bugs me that the waist of jeans hit my hips awkwardly and give me a faux muffin top. The waist of rag and bone jeans seams to be a bit bigger than other brands without distorting me.
Recently, one of my favorite jeans ripped so I went to the store to see if they could do something. I didn’t want a refund so for $ 16 they sent my jeans to be fixed. It took about four days for them to be repaired. While they did not look «new» then we fixed securely and in a place no one would notice. This is expected with this type of rip.
I was surprised by the other reviewers saying that they have poor customer service. I was treated wonderfully but do keep in mind this store has a very strict return policy. The staff is there to answer these questions so I say buyer beware. And if you are and indecisive customer, consider buying their items from places like Bloomingdales who have a much more relaxed return policy.

My go to for men’s casual. West Village men’s has the coolest, down-​to-​earth and friendly staff.
The store’s design feels earthy and masculine.
Problem is sometimes clothing you’ve just paid full-​price for goes on sale and R&B doesn’t have a price adjustment policy.

The store is cool. Don’t go in summer, the a/​c usually does not work.
The tees and shirts run small. And the pants are cut slim.
The jackets and coats are utilitarian looking. I usually fall in love with one, try it on and it doesn’t fit. But I bought a cool wool tweed mandarin collar coat 9from Odin) but months later I have moth holes. Still love it though!
Staff speak but not friendly. Maybe if they come behind the counter or from the back, may I would buy more. The hifi playing an album is a nice touch.

Rag & Bone = high quality hipster clothing but with prices jacked up to the MAXXX.
The clothes are definitely cute, but $ 1000 for a sweater? That’s outrageous. Also, a female employee made an awkward comment about my shoes. The comment itself wasn’t awkward, but the way she said it was weird and made me uncomfortable.

I love the quality and craftsmanship of Rag and Bone garments, but I had a horrible customer service experience there.
I know that many times salespeople are trained to qualify their customers, determining whether or not they will make a purchase, but I think I must have been «misqualified» when I went to try on some boots.
I had been lusting after a few styles of Rag and Bone boots online and I was finally ready to throw down for a pair. None of the sales reps approached and that was fine, so I approached them. The guy working there left a pile of boxes next to the couch and then didn’t let me know there were there, so I kept browsing until he finally pointed out that he had left them «over there.» As soon as I tried on the first pair, they were too tight and I said that I thought I needed a size up. Did he offer to grab me one size up? Nah. He walked away and chatted with his coworker.
They lost a sale.

It truly pains me to write this review.
I have been a loyal fan of Rag and Bone since 2005 when I purchased my first pair of jeans.. .back when they were still handmade in NC by a shop of little old ladies.
I’ve watched ast the line grew, the aesthetic changed, and I excited read about the new store in Christopher Street (how apropos!).
Obviously, this has to be a solid shopping stop for me on my trip to NYC. Well, I came, I went in, and I left almost immediately without buying a thing. Why? you might ask. Why would a devotee, such as myself, leave my clothing mecca without so much as a scarf.
It wasn’t the staff. They were friendly and unobtrusive.
It wasn’t the décor. No, the interior and the clothing worked together quite harmoniously
It certainly wasn’t the clothing.
It was, quite frankly, the lack of A/​C. It wasn’t a little hot, in here, it was sweltering, humid, sticky, and disgusting. It was so bad that I almost got sick, and I had to leave after a quick browse. I accept that A/​C units, like anything else, can shit the bed.. .however.. .this is 2010, not 1810, portable A/​Cs exist and Rag and Bone is a high-​end line, from which I would require a high-​end experience. Furthermore The cost of one pair of slacks would *MORE* than cover the cost of an A/​C
With the coin I wanted to drop there, they probably could have installed an entirely new central Air unit. Sadly, they chose to just let their customers feel sick.
Such a shame.

This brand deserves major kudos for it’s fashion-​forward design and the quality of materials and craftsmanship that goes into their garments.
Now that the summary is out of the way, let me just say, the fit is very European-​esqe. I am one of those ridiculously skinny people who are also quite small in stature. Think, 5’7″ and 145 lbs. Like I said, tiny. I buy a lot of my dressier clothes when I’m in Europe or from European brands that maintain their sizing here in the good-​ol-​beefcake-​USA. Rag & Bone makes beautifully styled clothing that is fair in price and worth the investment. I walked out of there with a beautiful steel-​blue suit that not only can be worn together but also separately. One of my first blazers I have ever owned I bought at Rag & Bone three years ago, and it still remains my go-​to jacket for both formal and casual affairs.
So if you’re a scrawny man with a penchant for style, skip the prissy Prada and get some American-​made stuff here.

I didn’t used to be a fan. I had tried on a few Rag and Bone things in the past at Barney’s and thought their stuff didn’t fit me well and was overpriced for what it was.
Lo and behold, a guy friend convinced me to check out the sample sale, and now I am a Rag and Bone convert. I was surprised to find the stuff fit way better than I remembered and ended up picking up several items. After wearing the items several times, I’ve turned into a raving evangelist. The fabrics, the attention to detail, the expert tailoring… I love!
The store setup, like the clothing, reflects a detailed eye for design and a cool yet comfortable vibe. Their sample sale selection and prices were particularly amazing, and the salespeople were all very friendly, unpretentious, and helpful throughout the madness. I’ll definitely be back!

Rag and Bone has the best sample sales. 1– All staff members are knowledgeable and will dig through inventory to find your size 2– You can find last winter’s dresses for $ 80, current season for $ 130 and so on 3– This sample sale happened the week of father’s day so I’m all set with kick ass ties, bowties, and button ups for my daddy!

Rag & Bone has been a somewhat exclusive men’s clothing brand for the past few years. I didn’t find myself compelled to search out retailers until a pair of Rag & Bone jeans – my favorite pair – was ruined in an inadvertent motherly wash n’ dry routine while at home for the holidays. The pants are shrinking and I’m doing just the opposite.
Time for some new trousers. Much to me gleeful surprise, Rag & Bone now had its own store. So I went, and on that day it was incredibly rainy and I was dressed like a yuppie backpacker – hiking books, quick-​dry pants, waterproof shell, the works. I half-​expected the store’s employees to wonder if I was lost when I walked in.
Just the opposite. The employees are extremely courteous, not in the least bit patronizing or pretentious, helpful, and generous with knowledge about the clothes themselves.
The design of the interior compliments the style of the clothing – bespoke, detail oriented, sturdy, and harking back to an earlier era while introducing modern elements. I like it, and I like the clothes. A lot.
What I don’t like are the prices. $ 1200 for a sweater? Whoa there, Nelly. (I really wanted a pair of their gloves, but when I found out they were $ 330 I became content with my $ 3 stretchy knit ones.) I felt like I escaped unscathed when I bought two pairs of paints – a tweed and some jeans – for just over $ 350. (And obviously that is still really friggin’ expensive.) I justify it by recognizing that the clothing in questions is built to last (in the five months I’ve owned them) and fits better than most any other line of trousers I’ve explored. I wear them all the time, they are extremely versatile, and they continue to look great.
They have also opened a women’s clothing store two doors west of their men’s shop. (In between is an actual bespoke men’s tailor who appears to produce top-​notch items.) The women’s line is noticeably juvenile; there are some great pieces, but as a whole it needs more development, and I’m confident it will get there given the time.
I urge everyone to check them out, but tread lightly unless you have some serious expendable cash.

I’m going to start by saying that I’m not a huge Rag and Bone fan. I love it on guys but the women’s stuff is not exactly my aesthetic– it’s a little too plain. It’s also important to note that the price tag on R&B items are on the high end. In this case, you pay for the quality of items and the accuracy and comfort of fit.
The feel of the store itself is very rugged, with unfinished floors and wood shelving and raw wood hangers. Everything is organized nicely and there’s lots of open space so things aren’t crammed together. There’s also a seating area so if for example your boyfriend takes WAY TOO LONG deciding on the pair of boots, you can sit and play on your phone while you wait. Everyone who works here is super nice… they don’t have the same hoity toity attitude that some of the SoHo boutique people do. They are very helpful and I love that!
They recently split the one store into two separate stores (just 2 doors down from each other) for guys and girls which means they’ll have a lot more product for each.

My visit was most definitely worth while. Their in– store selection really displays everything their designs are about (everything has that comfortable look to it along with great fabrics being used). They had all the basics from reuseable shopping bags and tank tops to the perfect outfit to go out in.
I picked up a pretty awesome sweater and a couple of basic tank tops… they weren’t cheap, but you can tell the difference in the quality. So worth the extra $$$.
