The drunken noodles with beef was excellent. Good spot for lunch.

Servers are super rude! Had a dish that was too spicy and she told me I couldn’t send it back. Not only that but she charged me for the dish at the end. Never going back!

Friendly and fast service. My wife and I both had the Pad See Ew. She had it with chicken which she enjoyed and I have it with the duck. The duck was fried which was a good surpirse. I enjoyed mine as well. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be back again. In fact I told my wife who works around the corner to bring some home around take out.

Unilocal incorrectly says this place is permanently closed. We came up to go to OBAO next door, but they were full and this place was not crowded at all, so we came in. They must have closed to remodel because the dining area is bright and fresh and clean. Very cute and comfortable. Great thai tea, the curry puffs were delicious(and mild enough that my 9-month old loved them), and the spring rolls were ok. My husband got the salmon with mango salad and loved it: spicy, well cooked, beautifully plated. I got chicken pad thai which, while not authentic and quite sweet, was very tasty. It was not spicy at all. It was a large portion, which I look forward to eating as a midnight snack, as I couldn’t finish it all :) I would definitely recommend coming here.

Had lunch earlier today. Although a bit crammed but nice Thai place to go for lunch during busy work days. Not expensive. Food was awesome. I had Basil Fried Rice. Loved it.

I had the WORST experience at Rain Thai today. We ordered red curry with rice and such noodle soup. When the waitress brought the red curry rice, the dish looked so TEENYTINY that we had to order additional rice. And that second bowl of rice didn’t come until half an hour later when everything was cold. The duck noodle soup had so little soup that it was difficult to swallow only those dry noodles. We had to order more soup and also asked for chop sticks. Guess what? Neither the chop sticks nor the soup came. Only on the bill showed additional charge for soup. We tried to talk to the waitress about this, and she was yelling at us and blaming us for ordering more soup!!!

If you can get over the décor and sketchiness of the feel, the food is pretty good. The pork with chili lime was awesome and my chili chicken had the right amount of burn. The $ 3 Chang Beer to wash it down was both perfectly suited for the food and was surprisingly good(I expected to hate the first sip and ended up drinking three). The place is in serious need of some design TLC, but in the end it is undeniably a mom & pop Thai place. Worth a try for the food at the very least.

Decided to order shrimp paw se wee take-out. The wait wasn’t bad, around 15 – 20 minutes for a shrimp pad see ew. Noodles didn’t stick together — only like 5 shrimp. The dish was good but not mouth watering good. The dish was SOMUCH better than other Thai restaurants around the area. Maybe it’s was late night craving. I gave the dish 3 stars given that the portions was just right and taste was better than average.

First I should state that the food is wonderful, and the prices are great. The one star is because I experienced probably the rudest waitress I have ever seen in action. I’m not sure Hollywood could come up with a more perfect person to play a rude and nasty waitress than the one serving me just two days ago. She was very upset that I asked how the menu worked when I tried ordering Tom Yum Soup with noodles. That’s all I wanted, it was on the menu. But after ordering it she asked what I wanted for my main course, and I stated just the soup(which was clearly written under the main course territory of the menu). After her growing impatient because I wanted the soup I gave up and ordered the basil chicken. She huffed and puffed and stormed off. This behavior of ugliness repeated itself until I got the check, when she sent a pleasant lady to deliver my bill, perhaps thinking I would forget how lousy the service was for the entire time preceeding the arrival of the one smiling person that worked there. No such luck fornher. The smallest tip I have left in my life and out the door never to return. What a shame since the food is great. But the service is so abysmal and there are other Thai restaurants within 50 feet of this place.

Any Thai restaurant next door to OBAO has the bar set high, but when you’re short on time(and don’t feel like getting old before lunch is served) this place is a great alternative to fix a Pad Thai craving(which can be vegan if you pick tofu for the protein and ask them not to make it with eggs!) If you come during the lunch hour, entrees come with a free appetizer. Don’t get your hopes up, the dish is TINY, but free is free and I recommend the Spring Rolls which are both vegetarian and crispy! On nice days, the front wall is thrown open and you can enjoy your food on comfy cushions in somewhat outdoor seating. It’s not OBAO, but if you have limited time for your lunch break and are in the mood for Thai, Rain is usually a solid choice!

This place is a pretty cool spot to drop by for a quick, casual lunch or dinner. I’ve been here twice and never had to wait for a table. I ordered the thai ice coffee and I swear it tasted exactly like thai ice tea. I couldn’t tell the difference and was just confused. Food wise, I ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken and was content with how it tasted. It was good, and they give you a good amount. I usually never finish my food when I come here.

Found a piece of foil paper about my middle finger’s size in my pad thai noodle. Absolutely liked it! It tasted exactly like… foil paper! Anybody who favors tasting sth new(like foil paper), this is the right place for you. And the waitress brought me back a bowl that’s half full. I highly doubt if they just simply removed the foil paper and a spoonful of noodles where the paper was hidden.

Crab Rangoon very different flavors but mixed well. I tried both the Chicken and Shrimp Drunken Noodles. I even paid extra for Jumbo Shrimp and they gave me 2. Chicken Drunken noodle was filled with bits and pieces of chicken. Otherwise food is great.

Food is horrible. People are so rude. Because we had a baby with us, they stuck us in the back table(which is fine). The staff wouldn’t bring any hot sauce, soy sauce or any other condiments out. They were rude, unwilling to offer suggestions, and basically treated us so badly we had to leave. Fried tofu is the worst thing I had here, which made us throw up.

Considering that we came before the dinner rush, we ordered from the lunch menu and received a good portion of food for the price. The Chicken Pad Thai that I ate was delicious — one of the best I’ve had. The spring roll appetizer was perfectly crispy and the sauce accompanying has just the right amount of spice. Service was attentive as expected if dining in an empty restaurant. The restaurant started to fill up about an hour or so later once we had finished. As a party of four, we were not charged the 18% gratuity as claimed by another reviewer who was charged this gratuity amount despite being a party less than six. I would certainly eat at this establishment again.

Of all the thai places this wasn’t that great. The portion of the food doesn’t fit the the price. And the service was rude like they didn’t want to even be there. And it makes you uncomfortable and trying to enjoy the food but you really couldn’t. We ordered a few apptizers and some entrées and it wasn’t all that great. Maybe I’m a picky Eater or maybe the food just SUCK! We ordered moo Yang some kind of beef with sweet Chilli sauce. The beef was great until you dip it in the sauce you don’t taste the favor of the beef anymore. Don’t get me wrong the beef was good just the sauce is a bit overpowering. We also ordered the thai fried chicken. It taste like any other fried chicken. We ordered another apptizers the fried tofu. we were having second thoughts about ordering that. So we decided to ask the waitress for her opinion and she told us its the best seller. And we actually believe her.(Wrong move) so when the dish came out(it took forever. We ordered first but the second table came into the restaurant 15 mins after us got their apptizers before us and we still had to wait) anyway we try the tofu. It tasted like it’s been re cooked many times. It wasn’t fresh at all. Only good thing was the sauce and the bedding of cabbage underneath.(That’s sad) Now for our entrees We ordered a seafood salad. It was a bit on the salty side. When you decide to order this get ready to drink a lot of water. We also had the green curry. It was pretty water down you don’t even taste the curry favor. The chicken was cooked to long. And the last entrée we ordered was the thai drunken noodles with tofu. For 14 bucks. The portion was very small and usually drunken noodles are spicy it wasn’t even spicy at all. I was very very disappointed. Just image big plates and very small portion. But we did ordered desserts at the end. So we decided to share a fried coconut ice cream. It came out huge it was good but.(I know there’s always a but somewhere =p) I know it’s suppose to be coconut ice cream but they overpower the coconut one side the coconut was toasted really good and when you bite it on the other side it wasn’t it toasted at all. So you don’t have to take my word for it. But if you do try it be aware the portion side are small. And if you have less than 6 people they WILL still charge you the 18% service charge. Which is BS.

Rain Thai is another Thai place with tasty food, modern and cute décor, and a reasonable lunch special($ 8-$ 10 for an appetizer and entrée.) There’s nothing particularly remarkable about this establishment, other than the ultra-speedy service. I’ve been going there frequently with my sister for lunch since we both currently work in the neighborhood. Entrée-wise, she tends to stick with the shrimp pad thai, which is modified to be gluten-free for her, while I favor the cashew nut curry with chicken. The appetizers are consistently good. While not a destination, Rain Thai is a solid place for what we call a corporate power lunch.
