Really great spot for ramen and sake dinner. The Dan Dan dishes are so tasty with or without broth. The staff is super friendly and fortunately for me, don’t make a big fuss when they see me eating here 1−2x a week. You need to try the soup dumplings at least once — so good! They take time but it’s absolutely worth it.

On a cold night, what’s better than having a hot bowl of ramen? This is a rather small, cozy spot. We were lucky to be seated immediately, as we did come around late evening-ish. Their menu was detailed. My partner and I ordered two different dishes of spicy ramen, the dan dan ramen and the west ramen. Both were very different. I had the west ramen, which was a creamy, cheesey tasting broth. I found it very delicious up to the point where I got too full. When I got full, I found the broth to be a bit too overwhelming. My partner enjoyed his ramen though. Very good for an empty stomach. We also had two different appetizers, the crab rangoon and wonton in chili oil. The rangoon was pretty good. I did not taste the wonton though. Maybe next time. So this was a perfect find on such a cold night! Very fulfilling meal. I am never too picky with ramen, so I did not mind what some other reviewers may say about it not being«authentic.» Definitely worth the time to try this place.

I absolutely love this spot. You get a great big portion with steamy broth, tasty noodles, and a bunch of other yummy stuff. Try the Buddha and the Ramen Thukpa. Dumplings are also great. Great value for lunch too.

This west village spot ain’t chinese. I don’t like chinese food but love the fare served at this joint, so it can’t be. Obv, the Tsing Tso beers were refreshing. The duck buns were steaming and flavorful The scallion pancakes were crunchy-oily-yummy. The cucumber salad was light, yet fulfilling. The nori salad was the«the show». The dumplings were deeelish. The service was prompt and affable. The interior is cozy and chill. What else do you wanna know about this place? I got you, homie.

3.5 stars for interesting broth. My friend and I came here after NYE(hang over cure right?) and we both ordered the ramen thukpa(which also means ramen). The dish came very quickly and I was very intrigued by the soup. It has a very deep coconut flavor but yet it was so light. Reminds of a coconut based curry but definitely not as heavy. The ramen comes with boiled chicken strips. They were terribly dried and flavorless. This knocked the stars down a bit.

I had the Veg Curry Ramen and it was simply splendid: an aromatic journey through the Himalayas, led by supple ramen and made whole by crisp sprouts.

So happy we found this place. The service was great — friendly and efficient. The Dan Dan noodle was the most delicious ramen I’ve ever had. The soup dumplings were perfectly succulent. And the pork ramen was also superb.

A complete insult to Ramen-ya culture. They don’t even have Layu!(Seasame chili oil, a staple ingredient and condiment in any authentic ramen joint) We were seated next to a Japanese couple, the older Japanese man was quietly discussing(I speak Japanese) how terrible the food was, but that it may pass as poor imitation ramen for westerners who don’t know any better. Westerners! Know better! I wanted my money back. I got the DanDan Ramen and my partner got their signature ramen. Both were cheap, poorly crafted,(I mean it didn’t even LOOK appetizing) flavorless ingredients(don’t get me started on the grainy, dry ground beef) combined with flavorless broth. Let’s take a moment everyone. Broth is the most important part of ramen culture! If you think it’s even somewhat good, you have not had decent ramen. I don’t mind fusion either, but this was just crap. So far Totto has been my favorite ramen ya in NYC but I’m still hunting…

We were strolling in WV looking for a noodle soup place for lunch, and this tiny ramen place on the edge of WV came up on Unilocal! Looking at the menu, ramen lunch special is around $ 8 – 11 with a choice of small appetizer like Steamed Pork Dumplings, Spring Rolls and Seaweed Salad and Edamame. We decided to go in. This place looks small from the outside, but inside it doesn’t look cramped at all. We knew exactly what we wanted and started ordering once seated. We both ordered Miso Ramen(again, I know) with two different appetizers, Steamed Pork Dumplings, which were tasty, and a Seaweed Salad. We also order a bottle of unfiltered beer, Kawaba’s Snow Weizen, $ 6. The broth of Miso Ramen was good. I love how firm the noodles was! We really enjoyed it. Anyways, we shoulda seen the must try list on the blackboard, but we definitely come back to try Dan Dan Noodles and whatever is on that board! Happy hour starts from 430−630pm.

I was going to order the Thukpa ramen but the waiter suggested I try the Dan Dan noodles instead. I’m glad I did! They were really flavorful with a bit of a kick. Really hit the spot on a cold winter day. The scallion pancakes were a bit underdone and therefore disappointing. In any case the ramen is a hefty portion on its own so order appetizers at your own risk. And I’ll be back to order the Thukpa ramen soon enough.

Cute unexpected place in West Village. I’ve passed by multiple times and thought it was some takeout place so I never paid much attention to it. On a simple hunt for ramen(since Ramen-Ya had a long wait time), I stumbled upon this place through Unilocal.Best decision ever to go here. Upon walking in I was really surprised by how well this place was put together. It’s not big — about 12 tables for 2, but it doesn’t feel cramped. They also have a menu board for top things to get, great for the indecisive. I got the dan dan ramen. It was delicious. And the touch of corn was perfect. I don’t remember the ramen my friend got, but he enjoyed it! Would definitely come here again and try their other noodles!

I’ve been to Ramen Thukpa a few times. I discovered it empty on a Friday night, which would be questionable to some people, but I was dining alone and decided to give it a shot. Service is extremely fast, and food is pretty good.

Weekday dinner delivery Any business at this location in the past never able to keep their business but Thukpa might have a good Karma. Roasted Duck Noodle($ 11) The practice, separating into two delivery containers, one with noodle and toppings, and other for soup is a definitely kind customer centered practice, a good karma. I see many do that now day in the village. I truly appreciate the new change. I don’t like mushy noodle that has lost a bouncy texture. I recently had that experience with Kuro-Obi takeout that was not doing it and got a mushy ramen. The hand-pulled(?) noodle was easily cut to pieces but they were pre-cut in short length. I like long noodle to slurp up: the act creates a form and mixing with air in your mouth allowing to fully experience important contributing of a ramen’s taste, structure and personality, just when we taste wine. Make a slurping noise should be a must like Japanese. But even me, I only do that at home sadly. My favorite Chinese soup is a clean and bright chicken soup, especially with har gow(shrimp dumping). The soy flavored Duck noodle soup was similar to Japanese soba or udon noodle soup. But this soup base was with chicken broth and not from the sea but it was a tasty soup. Unfortunately, Roasted duck on the top were simply not acceptable. We got more bone than meat. You know that kind. This, this place is a 3.5 start for this time. Bod-Thuk($ 9) The traditional Tibetan thumb pulled noodles had fantastic textures, chewy inside and smooth out side. Thumb sized noodle was flat and easy to pickup. The house special broth that came with was not so spicy even the color of the soup was spicy red. This soup base was definitely from their chicken broth and adding with chili and paprika took me to Eastern Europe. The bell peppers, red and green, in this noodle soup infusing to create a unique flavor of that regions. This ramen might do very well in Poland where they use a lot of red bell peppers and paprika. It was a wonderful surprise.

Soup dumplings in tin cups… first for me. This place is a small place but still had spots open on a 6pm on a Saturday, and had decent food, so I’m a fan. Ramen was not bad too, but of course nothing you can compare to ippudo. Satisfied my hungry stomach on a whim after shopping all day

My wife and I checked this place out after watching me the Pride parade. It was everything we wanted. It’s a very small place but very authentic. We ordered edamame, sake, soup pork dumplings, and two different types of ramen. We also got the green tea ice cream(which is a must!). It was super refreshing. The service was pretty quick; the only thing was that the server continued to use the wrong pronoun with my wife which led to some awkward silences. There is a board with recommended ramen — stick to those. My wife got one that wasn’t recommended and she was very much unsatisfied and ended up sharing mine. I believe I got the western ramen. This place is definitely worth trying. We’ll definitely come back.

Hands down the best pork soup dumpling I have ever had. Each one was a little pocket of flavorful savoriness. If I could fall in to a heap of them I would be the happiest glutton alive. Ramen is unique and fairly good– but the soup dumplings are really stealing the show. Cute, intimate, and clean. I love this little gem!

Here’s the thing– where else are you gonna get Thukpa around here? I dont know why Thukpa isn’t as popular as Phở, because it’s far superior in my opinion. Thick hand pulled noodles, a hearty flavorful broth(which can burn your mouth off in spice if needed) and nice crispy vegetables or bits of chicken thrown in there… Thukpa is straight up exciting to eat. And that’s pretty much all I order from this place, every single time I’m there. Sure, their other soups are okay and the lunch special isnt too bad, but for like a couple dollars more you get the joy of steaming hot Thukpa. Why choose anything else?

The Quick: Everything is good, but nothing to wow the taste buds. There’s never a wait, and you’re right on 7th ave, so worth a try if you are local. Just don’t expect an incredible meal. The Details: I’ve tried 5 different ramen options, some better than others, but none worth repeating. This is not a bad restaurant by any means, each soup was good and it’s own way, I just felt that each one was missing something… Like it needs another spice or a kick. None of the flavors were overly rememberable or interesting. The staff is nice, location is great, I’ll probably be back but I’m not in a rush. The Damage: 2 ramen soups + tip and tax came to $ 30. Large portions.
