In one word a deceiving manager (stay away)! I checked in for state inspection and they mentioned it would cost $ 37. And left paying $ 70 without any prior notice, he claim it’s just for attaching the emblem (which I bought from outside)!! Also he was claiming weird stuff like his shop was the oldest in the area! I wasn’t sure what does this have to do with charging more money!
Stay away!

I have known Avi for more than 15 years — always gives the right advice. I got the first car I bought (used) checked by him, and since then I haven’t looked for another mechanic. He isn’t greedy — doesn’t try to get unnecessary work done and get paid.

In a town where there are too many over priced, entitled, and deceitful service providers, Avi is a shining star. The shop is somewhat disheveled but they seem to know where everything is.
Five years ago, I needed to bring my vehicle to Toyota for a warrantee issue after owning the new car for 4 months. They seemed to have an issue they couldn’t figure out right away. After the second trip back to the dealer, I returned an hour before they instructed me to. It turns out, they had my car across the street at RAZ AUTO REPAIR. I got the car back and the problem was fixed. While I was there, another dealership was picking up a car.
I don’t think RAZ knows more than the dealers do but it might be possible its cheeper to send to Avi when things get backed up at the dealership. My feeling, if RAZ is good enough for the dealerships, then they are good enough for me (and a lot less expensive).
BTW — I’ve tested them a few times when I knew what was wrong with my car, just to see if they would play any games. Avi is as honest as they come.
