Red Bubble

Really sad to see that this place has closed. Everything here was very affordable. I wanted to take a friend here early last year and didn’t see it anywhere, I guess it’s really been closed for that long. It seemed so sudden. Also bummed because this place was the only bubble tea place that I knew of that had rose milk tea, which is my dream come true. I never even got to get my free tea from my stamp card! Oh well. Fwiw, the employees were always very welcoming, kind, informative and they had no problem helping me out of my indecisive rut with figuring out which teas to get.

Love this place. The tea in this place is delicious and cheap compared to the other places like kung fu tea. Plus you get a free drink after 8 drinks.

Great little bubble tea place.
Cheap drinks, wifi, laid back area so great place to hang out with friends. They even serve food now! Great prices for food also.
They also have a special promotion where if you buy 8 medium sized drinks ($ 2.50) you get a free one

I went here with my family, and we all ordered bubble milk tea (the original). We all agreed this was some pretty good bubble tea, and it was a very nice little place. It is a small, quiet, and cozy little shop with plenty of seats and quite a large menu. If you are in the neighborhood I recommend you check you this place out!

Tired the rose milk tea, which was good — though wished it was slightly sweeter. Good place to get cheap milk tea though and they have a good variety of options.

Great little hole in the wall with friendly service and lots of drinks. The prices are also pretty cheap relative to the other places in the neighborhood. Big plus that they serve some food, but it’s all burger and fries fare :/

Literally the worst honey dew slush I’ve had in my life. It’s not even real fruit and they charged 3.50 for a large after my check in 50cent off voucher. It was waaaaay too sweet and it tasted like cough medicine. I’m only upset that they didn’t have any homeless people around the area that I could’ve given the drink to. I tossed it out after 2 sips. What a waste.

I stumbled on this little gem before taking a long walk across the Manhattan bridge so if you find yourself needing a boba before trekking back to Brooklyn, the noblest of boroughs, then stop here and fill up.
I like that they aren’t overly sweet and cloying which is one of my bigger complaints with bubble tea. I think a lot of shops assume Americans wanna drink overly sweetened candy. Well not this one buddy!

Any bubble tea place with Lactaid milk is cool in my book. Any drink where they use fresh milk can be substituted with Lactaid milk.
They have things I never heard of before. There is red bean and taro bubbles! Blew my mind away at first.
Last night I had the Thai Iced Tea with Lactaid milk and the red bean bubbles. It’s odd. how do they get a red bean in the bubble… don’t think about it.
The large Thai Iced tea with red bean bubble is $ 3.00. Fair price. I didn’t really like the texture of the red bean bubble though. It’s odd enough as huge tapioca pieces, now add a bean in it… not for me.
They have a «punch card» where if you buy 8 drinks you’ll get a free medium drink, on the house. I have one more to go.
Good thing about Red Bubble, it’s right by the train station on the way home. It’s convenient. And they have free wi-​fi.
It’s my new to-​go place for bubble tea now because of convenience… only if I am by the Grand Street train station.

Awesome! My first experience enjoying bubble tea and the lady behind the counter was more than helpful making sure that I enjoyed what I received. Good on her… I will be returning.

BOGO free until ⁹⁄₇! The milk tea is a bit too milky for my taste — not as much so as Kung Fu Tea, but enough where I felt like the tea flavor wasn’t strong enough. It was also really powdery. On the bright side, though, there’s free wi-​fi and space to sit with your friends!

WAS A SUPER KLUTZ TODAY and dropped and spilled my drink all over the floor. The staff was sweet enough to make me another drink free of charge, and kindly declined my offers to help them clean up my mess. To the staff there today: Sorry again about all the trouble!
And their Rose Milk Green Tea was honestly amazing, ¹⁰⁄₁₀ would buy and spill again haha.

After eating dinner in Chinatown, my friends brought me and my boyfriend to Red Bubble for a post-​dinner beverage. Honestly, if my friends didn’t bring me here I would never have noticed that this shop existed because it’s well-​hidden.
There wasn’t any ventilation at the bubble tea shop and there was limited seats and not much décor. The pricing is just about the same as anywhere else. The service wasn’t anything extraordinary.
I was curious to see what rose tea tasted like so I ordered it. It’s definitely different compared to other bubble teas I’ve had so far. It has a light, floral-​like taste to it. I actually didn’t enjoy it too much because of it’s floral taste and it was also a little too sweet for me. I should have customized the sweetness.
At Red Bubble, you are allowed to customize how much sugar or ice is added to your drink — Sugar — extra sugar (120%), less sugar (70%), half sugar (50%), little sugar (30%), and no sugar (0%). For ice — more ice, less ice, and no ice.
I think the likelihood of me returning to Red Bubble is slim because I didn’t get a great impression when we visited Red Bubble and I kind of have my heart set on a bubble tea shop that I visit often. In addition, Red Bubble’s menu is pretty standard — nothing too extraordinary, just ordinary.

This is my new favorite spot!!! Red bubble over KUNG FU TEA! Everything is cheaper and taste just the same or just as good! Also if you check in you’ll get 50 cents off. Not much but better than nothing. Small little bubble tea spot. There’s a few tables and chairs for you to sit. I love their currently promotion drink Thai milk tea for only $ 2 – 2.50 and also their bubble green milk tea! sooooo good and worth the price.

This new place nothing special or outstanding about it.
Just the same another typical place.
The price range is about the same as anywhere else.
But they service the fresh milk drinks with Lactaid milk!
I had a Taro smoothies (I think?) because I could not understand them.
One person talked too slow, the other talked too fast.
Taro smoothies was good.
I will come back and try their other stuff if I am in the neighborhood.

Love their seasonal fresh watermelon juice. So cheap ($ 2) and genuine (real watermelon chunks in it) compared to the $ 4 Whole Foods bottled watermelon juice that tasted sour, like from an unripe watermelon…
Also tried their black bubble milk tea and that was very good. Not too sweet, a tad more on the milky side. Bubbles were perfect texture… Not too hard and not too soft.
People were very nice too!

Once again I find a new place that’s opened in the past month that has 4 out of 4 reviews from people writing their FIRST EVER Unilocal review.

Nice modern yet rustic ambience! The tile walls are a great addition. They have a sit in area as well as a high bar area.
The passion fruit green tea has a really nice aroma that’s infused with hints of fruity flavor.
They even have Hong Kong style milk tea which, for tea lovers, is a must try. Definitely worth coming back!

Red Bubble is not bad! I say it’s on the better side of NYC Chinatown boba.
Drinks: The milk teas are pretty good (they have almond mild tea, just ask), there’s a decent selection of drinks, the boba is pretty good (good size and texture, but it could use more flavor). Do ask for less sugar. If I forget to ask for less sugar, my drink turns out too sweet.
Everything else: prices are decent, seating is ample, and there’s free wifi. If you’re looking for a nice place to stay, this place isn’t he best option because it’s half-​underground.
