LOVETHISPLACE! I’ve only been a few times, but every time I’ve been it’s been consistently great. The crust is super filling(even with just 1 slice) and I love that you really taste fresh tomatoes in the sauce. A huge bonus is that you don’t have to cry after seeing the calorie counts on the menu. The people working here are also really sweet– I went last Friday near closing and the cashier wrapped up and extra slice for my friend and me to take. Yay for free lunch the next day! I recommend the original & five cheese. ps– note to Rev’d Up Pi– The only thing I’d love to see are some options(especially by the slice) using Daiya cheese! Think about it :)

This place is near my job and I always go past it and have wanted to try it since I live a healthy lifestyle and today I got an offer, $ 4 for $ 7 worth of food and Groupon gave me $ 5 to spend so I got $ 7 of food for FREE!!! How can I pass this up? When I got there I saw a lunch special of an 8″ pizza plus a bowl of organic salad for $ 7.50! I decided on the Mighty Mushroom Pi.(360 calories) The description says it’s portobello, shiitake and other mushrooms over natural part-skim mozzarella, topped with truffle oil and shaved part-skim parmesan. All I tasted were the mushrooms and the mozz, def no truffle oil or shaved parm on it. The crust is made of whole wheat flour, almost like a flatbread or pita, not what I expected but not in a bad way. Overall I found it to be somewhat of a treat if you’re on a diet but if you’re craving a slice, pass on this, it’s pretty bland but I was full enough that I didn’t eat the salad now but you really can’t complain anytime you can get a healthy lunch is NYC for .50!

My husband and I came here with a groupon and left feeling like it was probably maybe only worth going with the discount. I think. There were some basic problems with our meal — we ordered one 8″ pie(the lean mean…) and one entrée(the calamari). While the calamari was tasty, the penne was overcooked and crumbled, the plate was covered in sauce that spilled over onto the table, and the very basic sauce was too salty after a few bites. The pizza was very thin-crusted, floppy and soggy — but if you can get it in your mouth it will remind you of something you made at home when you ran out of the proper ingredients for authentic pizza. All in all, I’d say it’s like the ‘Subway’ of pizza places — very bright and colorful and midwest-friendly décor, with mediocre food that claims to be better for you based on the fact that it’s not dripping in fat or made with white flour. But, in a city with so many great pizza places, I say — if you must be this concerned about calories, just order the delicious pie from that authentic Napoli-style restaurant in your neighborhood and put less in your mouth.

I made the venture out here after LivingSocial’s Instant Deal promotion of $ 1 for any 2 slices and their organic iced tea. What a deal?! So I walked in and stood by the pizza counter, quickly making my decision on what 2 slices I wanted. The gentleman behind the counter glanced at me quick and was just milling around, helping the lady in front of me, which only took a couple seconds to put her slices into the oven. He didn’t come over to me until he was ready to take out her slices, all the meanwhile, several people started to pile up behind me, also waiting to order. It was 12pm, and the lunch crowd started to come in. Not the best idea to run a business. But regardless, he finally asked what I was having, a vegetable slice and a Vodka sauce slice, both of which he threw in the oven but acted somewhat confused on how to put them in. As I waited for my slices to get reheated, he started to throw slices from the patrons behind me, just randomly throwing them in without really segregating them or knowing which slice was thrown in first. After he had thrown in about 4 – 5 customers slices in, he took them all out at once. Ugghhh, luckily my slices came out perfect, but I’d hate to see how the customers slices behind me were most likely lukewarm. He boxed them and I was on my way to pay. (This paragraph is solely related to the LivingSocial deal): I gave my voucher # to another employee, but the cashier told me it would be another $ 1.09 on top of the $ 1 I had paid to LivingSocial. He said when they signed up for the deal as a vendor, they had misunderstood the terms. I told him that was not how LivingSocial worked, that I had already paid, as well as the several customers behind me. He basically stated that was what he was told and there was nothing he could do about it. I was a bit flustered at this point, so I paid the extra for my 2 slices and he was about to ring up the next customer, but I quickly asked for my iced tea which he walked to the other end of the counter and grabbed my iced tea, pre-made in a 16 oz. plastic container sitting in a refrigerator. So on to the slices. Both slices were taken to the extreme on thin-crust pizza. They were paper thin where the crust was almost nonexistent. Good for those looking to cut on the carbs but still craving a slice of pizza. And somehow they still made the pizza slice firm and crisp except for the very tip which flopped over a bit. My first slice was the Vim & Vigor Pi(100 calories /slice) which included red onions, eggplant, zucchini, mushrooms, and artichoke. The slice tasted very healthy but was a bit bland for my tastebuds as it seemed to have no salt or seasoning whatsoever to bring out the flavors of the vegetables. But being that this slice was only 100 calories and it was more for the health conscious, I could settle for it. The next slice I had was from the Vodka Sauce Pi(280 calories /slice) which included natural part-skim mozzarella with a light vodka sauce that was actually very tasty. I could have easily gone for another slice or two of this, but considering that it was about 3x the calories of the Vim & Vigor, it got me too thinking of the calorie count. The organic iced tea was minimally to almost completely unsweetened, what I would consider bland but at least you’re giving the option to sweeten to your liking. I’m starting to understand the whole health-conscious aura they are trying to portray, but my whole meal was starting to get a little boring at this point. Rev’d Up Pi was trendy at most, but I can’t see myself coming back here as the health aspect just didn’t really seem to do it justice. And at prices where these tiny slices normally cost $ 3.50 to $ 5.00, I would feel somewhat ripped off. I’ll stick to put normal pizza parlor and work off the extra calories that I consume.

Got a Free Slice of Pizza Courtesy of Tenka. I tried the MARATHONGRANDPASLICE– it was alright. I like the fact that they used whole wheat for crust. it’s healthy but the taste is a bit DRY to my liking. The mozzarella and marinara was perfect. The good thing about it, is that It’s not as oily as regular pizzas. The slice was kind of SMALL so it won’t fill you up. Another slice might be more filling.

Blah… that pretty much sums up their pizza. Tried the Grandma slice as well as a slice of their White Pie with a friend. Both the cheese and the sauce were meh, but what really ruined the experience was the crust. One of the problems I’ve encountered with whole wheat flour is that it produces a dry and grainy product… this crust was no exception. From the first bone dry bite to the last, I had to question why Rev’d Up Pi had done this to a perfectly good pizza… oh I know… health, yum!

Another place that is trying to take advantage of the«healthy» and«organic» and«eco-friendly» eating revolution that it has become so distracted in trying to attain this goal that it has forgotten that it is supposed to make food that, most importantly, caters to the taste buds. I had a tenka deal for a free slice to this place and went there today but couldn’t use it even though there were 79 offers left because the«boss said so» However, in place they offered a buy one get one free deal and since the staff was pretty nice and I didn’t want to look totally stingy leaving, I took the new deal. I ordered one slice of the 16 grain full throttle Pi and one slice of the Marathon Grandma Pi. One slice of pizza at this place usually costs around $ 4. My total including tax was $ 4.63 for both slices with the deal. The tomato sauce and the cheese were kind of bland on the full throttle slice. The Marathon Grandma was just all right. However it was just like a normal slice of pizza and not worth paying $ 4. The décor to the place was also really nice but atypical of most pizza places as they really tried to emphasize on «green» issue by having green(as in the color) seating. Seemed to have also concentrated this a lot also and put this on the list above the taste issue too. I would never come back here again unless I passed by it on the way looking for a bathroom. Price and taste-wise, it is not worth it. It had a really nice bathroom with a separate toilet and urinal though.

If you’re a tree huger you’ll love this place. They recycle, use ego-friendly boxes, cups, and when you walk in you instantly see orange. Also if you’re a health nut, you’ll love it. All of their pizza is with whole wheat crust. I came in here with a tenka deal giving me a free slice. I got the organic mac and cheese pizza slice, which I thought was interesting. Sadly the crust was like cardboard, and not much flavor. I’m not surprise really, since whole wheat is usually bland unless with good amount of salt or sugar. Also, the slice wasn’t really hot. I gave three stars because they likely have some great stuff on their menu, besides the pizza. I just didn’t try them myself. I was talking to a hippie looking guy there. Who actually is looking to invest his money in this place. I just hope he doesn’t lose his life savings with the place. He also mention that they are working on a gluten-free pizza crust.(which is great for my sister who has Celiac disease, but in my mind it’s badly taste pizza crust.)

It’s a close second for cardboard. I’m not kidding you. Thank god I got my slice for free(thanks Tenka) because I would never come back AND pay for this horrible pizza. One would think you can’t really mess up pizzas… wait until you come here. I’ve been to several joints that serve so-so pizza but it’s still edible, this wasn’t the case here. The staff seemed okay and the venue itself was modern and clean looking… unfortunately the pizza kills and trumps all when it comes to my decision not to come back ever again.

I noticed this place opening up last summer, but I finally decided to stop by and grab some pizza for dinner tonight. Pretty empty at around 5PM, but I still had to wait 5 – 10 minutes for an 8-incher to get made. There seems to be pretty good selection on the menu; I decided to stick with plain old margherita(which goes by the name ‘Full Throttle’ on the menu here). For $ 8.50, it’s pretty decently priced, although the full pie($ 24 for 16 inches) feels a bit steep, given that you can get cheaper thin crusts from other places that taste better. As for the pizza itself — I’m a biggest fan of the sauce, which has a fair amount of herbs sprinkled in, making the tomato sauce more than just plain tomatoes. There’s an appropriate amount of basil, and the cheese tastes very good. However, it’s just thrown onto the pie in gobs; when I pulled the cheese off the box, virtually the entire pizza outside the sauce was left behind. I do understand that the point here is that the pizza is healthier than most, but the crust was devoid of any flavor or texture. The thinness was well-done, but there’s simply no life to it, and it takes away from the rest of the pizza. Service was decent, and the atmosphere if you want to sit down is okay — there are some TVs and high-top tables to sit at. Otherwise, it’s a place where I might come to get a slice every now and then, but probably not somewhere I’d go frequently. I also wouldn’t bother with a full-sized pie — the prices are too high to justify it.

I came back here again for free pizza: Not bad, not great, but hey, if you haven’t tried it, you should go grab a free slice!

The menu is actually impressive here. Apparently I really do find alot of deals in NYC, I do my fair share of looking though. Whether it before 50% off food and drinks somewhere, 91% off on a groupon to buy some sneakers or my new found love Tenka. AH yes this site is drawing alot of buzz now and yesterday since I was in the city in the horrible weather I made my way to this spot on third ave to use my 8 cents deal for some pizza. I got the grandpa slice. Very good choice, it was organic pizza and had skim milk on the mozzerella. Initially I would not like to spend $ 4.50 on a slice of pizza though, that is just not my preference. I thank the experience to try this and I did enjoy it but that is just because I caught this great deal.

The pizza is expensive and tastes like cardboard. Also be aware the manager who works at this shop is extremely abrasive and rude! I tried to redeem the Unilocal offer but he refused. When another employee corrected the manager and said the offer was legit, he threatened to fire him. Food is okay. There is nothing special about any of the dishes. I had the organic chicken parm entrée dish. It was something that I could have easily made at home. The hercules pizza was bland and had no taste. If you are going to get anything I would recommend the Full throttle pi if anything. I have tried the mushroom pizza, lean mean pi, and purity pi. All the slices were reallyyyy bad. I do like their cannolis because they are low in calories. After having such an unpleasant experience with the manager in this store. I’ve decided that I would rather have one good fatty pizza than have 2 pizzas that taste like cardboard.

I have been to this place recently after I saw their promotion on Facebook. I ordered an ordinary slice as well as a slice with assorted types of vegetables that’s not on the online menu(I forgot the name!). The promotion on Facebook said if you mentioned that you«liked» them on Facebook, they would give you a free slice. Now, I’m a fan of pizza as long as it’s not oily, which is a HUGE problem for me in NYC, so I was all for trying this healthy pizza. PROS: –It’s good as far as healthy pizza goes –Definitely a lot less oily than its counterparts –Lots of variety –Friendly staff –A fair amount of dining space for lunch CONS: –Slices are thin –The girl at the cashier didn’t believe me when I told her about the«honor system» which was posted up on its own Facebook website, so I had to pay full price for both slices. –PRICEY. Each slice can go for up to $ 4.95.that’s nearly five bucks for an extremely thin slice of pizza. The price was an immediate turn-off when the pizzas are clearly not as big as a regular slice. VERDICT: I felt really unsatisfied after I was finished with my two slices. I know that it’s supposed to be healthy, lower-calorie, organic, but do you really need to skimp on tomato sauce? If you love REAL pizza, I believe you’re better off trying to make a healthy version at home rather than come here. However, if skimping on a bit of flavor and texture isn’t so terrible to you and you like to eat healthy, then it really isn’t so bad. I think NYC needs to make a pizza that’s made with wheat flour and skim cheese, and everyone will be happy haha

Pros — pizza is good(not spectacular) — healthy — OK for people on a diet because it’s not heavy — Plenty of seating — Fun décor Cons — Overpriced!(slice= $ 4.90) !! –Not enough sauce/cheese –Whole Wheat empowered the taste of the whole pizza –Way too thin

I enjoyed this place because it’s super healthy, organic, and fresh. Couple of points: — I tried the mushroom pi slice and though it was a bit on the pricier side, I liked the truffle oil and massive amount of FRESH mushrooms — Service — owner was friendly and brought us over two free cannolis — I’d like to try more at this place especially the berry pi — My slice needed to be heated up, for sure I’ll be updating my reviewing soon!

Prepare yourself with the most guilt free pizza inside the most hip looking pizzeria in NYC! This place has it all but without the calories and carbs, plus you don’t get that over full sick I ate too much pizza feeling, plus you don’t feel like you have to take a nap either. You actually feel«Rev’d Up». Now I see where they came up with the name. Pizza is my favorite food and typically when we think healthy we think, bland tasting, favorless, and downright gag me this is gross! This pizza is sooo far from that! First of all when you go there your eyes get melted away from the art and masterpiece of toppings they have on their pizza. Not to mention under the toppings you have whole grain or wheate bread loaded with fiber! not loaded with carbs! One slice is only like 130 something calories while a typically NYC pizza is close to 300 something calories! Unbelievable! For you veggys out there they also have vegetarian pizza for you too as well has entrees. Now I have to say for their first day opening up and announcing food that is FREE you got to expect a line around the block, seeing how we yorkers will do anything to save a buck. These guys were so quick and swift! Service was fast and the energy they brought to your experience was amazing! I hung out there just because of that. Plus it was their first day of the employees working so that’s a great sign for great service! I will be a regular here and will save loads of calories in my body on pizza nights now that Rev’d Up PI is here!
