The best massage I’ve ever received. Went with my hubbie, and his masseur was equally as wonderful.

About my 3rd time here. The place is on the left hand side and I say that because it’s a shop that shares the locale with other shops. First time I went there was for my lower back and they did an awesome massage. Felt relaxed with the level of professionalism at hand. They adjust to your needs. I was relaxed to the point of sleep yet conscious to feel the deep tissue massage. Felt amazing ! Went back for my knee a couple of months later and had an awesome experience as well My last time was yesterday for my wrist. Going in I knew I was going to be taken care of. Overall I recommend this place. The people there are friendly. Talk to YAN he’ll take care of you

I have been going to Rio Grande for the past couple of years for acupuncture, massage and realignment of my back. Dr. Yang is the best!!! A natural healer. My lower back does not bother me anymore. Best value for its price range. Given that the ambiance isn’t that great, but for $ 42/hour for a full body massage, it’s so worth it. Stress of the entire work week is gone. If you prefer a masseuse, look for Linda or Sophia.

My sciatica bothering me for three years, my doctor is introduced here to find doctor Yang. This is a magical treatment. My god. Only one time… Only one time… My sciatica never came back!!! I recommend a five star!

I’ve been to this place a couple of times now and every time has been very pleasant. It’s a little hard to find at first because it’s tucked back into the entrance but once you’re in its a pretty soothing and cheap massage place. They play relaxing music and so far every massage I’ve gotten has been amazing. Definitely would recommend this place for a cheap and pleasant massage.

I was a very loyal customer to Rio Grande, and had many amazing massages for incredibly reasonable prices. I brought friends and family here all the time. Unfortunately though they have hired inappropriate massage therapists and my friend was molested by the man massaging her. The massages may have been good, but it is not worth jeopardizing your safety. I always like the management here, but it’s apart of their job to make sure that they have therapists who won’t be inappropriate with the customers. Stay away! Alternatively there are plenty of other options VERY close by! PS the NYPD detective that advised my friend about how to deal with the situation warned her not to go to any Chinatown massage parlors by herself. I think this is wise advice for women.

It is really hard to beat paying $ 8 for a 10-minute back massage, but I am just unsure about the quality & the setting definitely throws me off a bit. I walked in without making an appointment. The environment is located in the far back corner of building and upon entrance, it looks like the setting of a haunted ghost movie or a shady special-ending kind of place(I am not saying that they actually are, but it looks the way that I would expect a special-ending massage parlor to look). Owners of different stores will also address you on the way in and ask you if you are there for a massage. We were seated in large leather chairs upon arrival as we awaited our massages. There was a slim-figured masseuse there who looked like she was dressed wildly inappropriate for a regular back massage: short, hoochy skirt and very tight short-sleeve shirt. This made me really uncomfortable in addition to the gloomy setting. The massage area itself was«curtained» off — in quotations because it is actually just a flimsy, thin piece of fabric. 4 or 5 beds were stationed within 2 – 3 feet of each other and it felt really cramped. Masseuse set the timer and proceeded for the 10 requested minutes. It got really painful at one point and I don’t know if that is because of the intense knots I had or because of her lack of skill. I am not a frequent massage-goer, but after feeling extremely sore from days of rigorous workouts, the $ 8 for 10-minutes deal really caught my eye. Price is right, but I am going to try some of the other $ 8 for 10-minutes deals in the area instead to see if maybe their environment is a little cleaner. The service is okay, didn’t like how they sort of corner you for tips at the register area — seriously ladies, hoarding me for a tip doesn’t put additional pressure for me to give you more, a little bit of space goes a long way.

I wound up in Rio Grande because I was looking for another massage place, which had great Unilocal reviews, which is at 179 grand street. Silly me, I went to 179A grand street, and didn’t realize my mistake until I already had my feet in a tub of hot liquid. I quickly Unilocaled on my phone and was a little nervous because of the first review on here, but by this point I decided I had to embrace the adventure and go for it. My friend and I each got thirty minute back massages, and they were great. It was a little confusing because when we arrived we were seated in big comfy chairs and our feet were placed in buckets, but I think that’s just because we had to wait about ten minutes for beds to clear and they wanted us to be comfortable(or stuck). Once the beds were clear we were ushered into a dark room with four beds, and told to lie down face first. I’ll admit I was a bit nervous, but I really shouldn’t have been. The massages were great. Strong and powerful, and really worked through my sore neck and back. At $ 21 + tip each, it was a great deal. When we were finished we were given little cups of water, and a business card where ten visits earn you a free masasge. Overall it was a good adventure, and we were very satisfied.

I had come down to Chinatown on a mission — to find an AMAZING foot massage spa. And I got NOTHING. My first stop was at Golden Yan at 181 Lafayette. WHAT A WASTEOF A PLACE. Then, I arrived at this place. ITSUCKED. ITSUCKS. They don’t know the definition of Reflexology. All the chubby woman did was rub my feet. I couldnt bare it so I cut my time in half. Who the hell wants their feet rubbed like you rub a newborn’s!?! NOTME. I wanted an official foot reflexology session and I got NOTHING. No talent. Waste of space. I don’t care how«cheap» this place is it is still money and money spent is money spent. If you, like me enjoy a strong deep penetrating foot massage where you feel pain and then feel elated THISISNOTTHEPLACETOGO. DONOTWASTEYOURMONEYNORYOURTIME>
