I came here as part of a Unilocal event. Robert’s Steakhouse is somewhat unusual in that it’s inside the Score’s Gentleman’s club. Unfortunately for me, I also happened to go to the wrong one(old habits die hard I suppose) and ended up running quite late. Upon entering I was very quickly seated with the group, who had already ordered while I was dilly dallying. Now the actual restaurant portion of the venue sits in a separate raised area at the rear of the club. To enter you go through the main floor, and get quite a view of some beautiful ladies. The service was great through and through, and our host Pierre was very amusing however it is the food that stood out to me. The steak. The steak was excellent. On par with any, I mean ANY of the top steakhouses in the city, including Peter Luger’s, Del Frisco’s, BLT Prime, and the like. I ordered mine medium rare, and though it came more medium than rare it was still excellent, perfectly seasoned, perfectly charred, and served after it had been rested but still sizzling hot. Given that the event was for ~30−40 people all being served at once, that’s quite an achievement. Frankly while the girls are pretty, I would head back just for the steak, and if you’re looking for a place to bring a client who likes something unusual… this fits the bill(though don’t be shocked by the bill after). The rest of the food was also excellent, but it was the potato gratin that really stood out. For one thing, the side dish is huge. For another it was delicious. I could probably survive on it alone for a while. Lastly, despite it not being on the event menu, no dinner is complete for me without a long island. In this regard Robert’s did not disappoint. It was perfectly made, and was the ideal accompaniment to the setting. All in all, while there are million jokes about strip club food, make no mistake Robert’s is not like that. It’s a high end restaurant with a more interesting décor than most. Not to mention if you’re having dinner your admission to the club is waived!

Have you wondered what it is like to have steak and be surrounded by a bevy of beautiful naked women? Well look no further! Located in the back of a strip club Robert Restaurant has impressive views of the main stage. I came here for a Unilocal elite event and let me tell you the service here is superb! Pierre… the name just sounds erotic… our waiter… made our day! He was attentive and outrageously hilarious. If you ever go look for Pierre! Food: We had the prixe fixe for $ 30. This included 18 oz dry aged steak which was delicious, cream spinach, and whipped potatoes… there was so much food… I ate so much that I had hard time getting out of my seat! So whenever you are in Chelsea and want some good company come here!

The food here is surprisingly good. The steak was a little overcooked but was tasty and all the appetizers were great but how can potatoes and cheese with bacon be anything but… I think this also could be a great spot for a date… if she doesn’t react negatively to the scenery then she might be the one.

So I came here for a Unilocal event and left a review on the Unilocal event page, but I think it is fair that I put the review on the steakhouse page too, because this was a darn good meal –thanks chef– with excellent service –thanks Pierre and team-: What an awesome meal we’ve had! To get to the restaurant, you have to walk through the strip club, and then you are somewhat secluded on a mezzanine-ish restaurant where you can enjoy your food and the girls! The staff was stellar and Pierre was hilarious! They started us off with a bread basket full of warm mini baguettes and olive and herbs buns, we had soft butter and homemade artichoke pesto spread!(did I say homemade!!!) That alone was amazing and so filling, had I known what was coming next, I would sure have held off a little, but it was so good, and the bread was warm, and the butter soft, that’s awesome. You know how many time you go to a restaurant and they bring you the bread basket but then you can’t even spread your butter… I chose the tomato, mozzarella, read onion salad as a starter, it was a refreshing first course, the portion size was great, and the dressing was very good! I loved it! Then, of course I had the steak, I had mine well done(judge me, i love it that way haha), with a side of potato gratin with bacon. OHMYGOSH, that was one amazing steak, it was perfectly overcooked to my perfection, the crisp on the outside, ooooooohhhhh. As for the«side» of potato gratin, I’d say it was more a meal in itself for a table of 4 hhhaaaaa! It was so good, so rich, creamy on the inside, crispy on the outside, add bacon to that mix and you attain perfection. For real. Perfection. I ate everything. I believe I am the only one at my table who didn’t leave with a doggie bag. When heaven is served to you on a plate, you damn straight don’t save it for later! Desert was a molten cake for me, and I have no idea how i was able to fit it in my already stretched out stomach, but just like I can’t say no to bacon, I can’t say no to chocolate. It was a perfect touch to finish the meal, rich, creamy and flavorful, very elegant presentation!(I’d add a tad of coarse salt on it, that would have been even more bombastic) An overall great event, fantastic meal, and great company of other Unilocalers! Thank you for putting this together! PS: Sponsoring rum was great too! =)

THISISONLY A REVIEWFORTHEIRFRENCHFRIES, ASRECOMMENDEDBYTIMEOUTNEWYORK: When Time Out published their list of 100 Tastes You’ve Gotta Try, I figured there would be some burgers, pizza, lots of ethnic food, a few hip cocktails or two. But I never guessed that this list would bring me to a strip club. A strip house, maybe, but a strip club? And I remember when I first scanned their list back in December and decided to hit all 100 places, the item I was most intimidated by was not the pickled egg or the sea urchin toast. But it was in fact the Everything Fries at Robert’s Restaurant, which is a steakhouse located inside of Scores. I was sort of hoping there would be a separate entrance to the restaurant and we could go sit at the bar and taste these fries. I’m not a big fan of strip clubs. Don’t get me wrong, I love naked girls. But strip clubs always freak me out. First off, the girls are all rather robotic and I find their desperation quite sad. And secondly, I never know where to look. I have an instinct to look away when a girl changes in front of me(out of politeness), but here you’re supposed to look. And I don’t want to make eye contact with them, so I look down at the floor. But, no that’s wrong. You’re supposed to look at them. But I don’t want them to see me looking at them and… Oh, it’s just too much stress!!! But here I was once again at a strip club. And if you can believe it, I was here for the food. We ended up sitting at the bar in front of the stage because the restaurant upstairs was ultra fancy and they didn’t have a bar of their own. We checked out the restaurant’s menu and it was absurd. A hamburger cost $ 34(it included the everything fries)! And as far as I could see there were no foie gras pieces and we were not in Minetta Tavern. All of the sides, including our fries, were $ 14. To keep my wallet in check, I opted for tap water only(the bartender must have loved me) and a side of the astronomically priced french fries. Immediately, I could see why they’re called everything fries. They take a cue from the popular bagel option by adding all the usual bagel toppings. So here were sesame seeds, salt, poppy seeds, onions, garlic, etc. And instead of a side of cream cheese to dip them in, we got some spicy paprika aioli. It was all interesting, but nothing so unique that my tastebuds perked up. The fries were crispy and addicting but the extra flavors were a bit overwhelming(they certainly don’t skimp on the seasoning). The garlic was so strong and plentiful that nobody wanted to talk to me the next day. I was afraid I had developed halitosis. The paprika aioli was flavorful, but also a bit too much. It seems that everything at Scores and the unseen Robert’s is over-the-top. After all, these are $ 14 fries in a strip club! And what else should I’ve expected? –eatthisny
