My neighborhood go to brunch spot Good service, brunch faves are burgers and the french toast. The bacon is thick and hearty. Brunch bacon bloody! Our server Willie was a charmer.

Great location right off Houston with decent food and drinks. Perfect for when your looking for a place to stop either early in the night or on a low key evening. Highly recommend any of the sliders and the French fries. Staff was extremely helpful, accommodating and friendly.

This was a nice little spot to get a drink after dinner. I’m giving it 5 stars because I had an entirely pleasant experience, although this isn’t a place I’m dying to come back to. It was a nice atmosphere but it was very laid back. I had a cocktail called Texas Firing Squad, which was refreshing, but the pieces of muddled ginger were a little too much at times. Overall, it’s a nice place if you’re looking to relax and talk to someone.

I really enjoyed this bar! A cozy spot to get together and have a drink with a big group. They’ve got some great seasonal/local beers on tap and their cocktails are certainly not weak. The wait staff is attentive and all have a good sense of humor. Would definitely go back for a Thursday night get-together, but this is definitely a more laid back night out type of spot.

Walked in to get a cocktail, specifically, at 1:30 am and the bartender said he’s not making cocktails anymore. Um, it’s 1:30 am on a Sat night in Manhattan and the bar is full with people and plenty of alcohol. Not sure why he is only offering beer, wine, gin & tonic or rum & coke…

Can only rate on ambience and beer but Rogue seems like a nice hang out spot. Décor is very rustic with cool mood lighting and a huge wall of liquor behind the bar. Our server was very polite and helpful in helping us choose a good beer. I did notice they have a relatively small food menu but nice size cocktail menu.

I DONTRECOMENDTHISPLACE! Just went there for brunch with my brother, place was almost empty. We have been waiting for almost an hour to get our Benedict eggs that came cold and not cooked! We didn’t receive any apologies from the waitress who was ignoring us! A family arrived after us and received an appetizer from the house with a «sorry»!! NOTPROFESSIONALWEALMOSTFELLOFFENDED! I didn’t tip the waitress at all.

Came here on Saturday night to meet with a friend of a friend who just moved to the city or a date… not really sure what it was, but that’s besides the point. We arrived at around 8PM(ok I guess it was a date) and the place was pretty empty(I think there were 2 other people sitting at the bar). The second thing I noticed was the loud rave music(not house/lounge because every song had firetruck sirens in it) which was not ideal for a conversation. We decided to sit down regardless and try to enjoy our drink. The waitress brought water relatively quickly and asked if we were ready to order. We made the mistake of asking her to come back 5 minutes later because she did not return for another 15. I assume she was really busy with all the waiters and bartenders who were chatting in a group and watching Pain & Gain(great movie, but don’t know why it was playing at a bar at 8PM on a Saturday). When the waitress finally came back, she was extremely friendly, so I’ll give her that. She returned with the drinks relatively quickly. I ordered an Old Fashion, which was good, and my friend/date ordered a Vodka Soda, which she seemed to enjoy as well. After bringing the drinks, the waitress went back to the other group of servers and continued watch Pain & Gain. I tried to get her attention for a second round, but eventually had to stand and order at the bar. To sum up the experience, we were not attended to properly, the music was loud and overbearing, the drinks were good, and they were playing Pain & Gain on the TV’s. The only redeeming quality of the experience was my company and the drinks(which is why I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1), everything else was of poor quality.

I have been to this bar multiple times and have always had a great experience with the cocktails and service. Today, I sat at the bar with a friend for at least 15 minutes while the bartender avoided eye contact with every customer. I finally went over to him to ask if we could order and his response was«Depends what you want because my shift is ending.» I asked him for 2 cocktails and he said«Ok, I’ll see what I can do» and proceeded to do paperwork while I waited another 5 minutes. I tried getting his attention to tell him not make the cocktails and he refused to acknowledge me. Others were just as annoyed– he kept taking orders but did not make any drinks. He was more concerned with closing out all the credit cards. I really liked this bar, which I why I am so disappointed. I hope this is a one time situation but I hope this isn’t the new direction of service or management.

Beautiful place for a beautiful afternoon brunch. I came here for a group meeting and the ambiance is very cozy. The waiters and hostess were all very friendly and they catered to us well. The food! Omg the recommended dish was the chicken and waffles paired with a green garden salad on the side and I can only say that it was simply DELISH kudos to prior Unilocalers for suggesting something this great. My dessert was the most sweet and savory grapefruit brûlée YUMS and my drink of choice for the day was a simple apple juice and tea. I would most definitely visit this place again just to indulge in some tasty food

I really enjoyed this lively bar in the Greenwich Village area bordering SoHo. Only reviewing for weekend drinks, but it was a super fun spot with friends. We were lucky enough to a grab a corner booth area near the front and just hung out for most of the night. Our waitress was really nice. Great selection of cocktails and some decent craft beer options, too! It got pretty loud but not too much that I couldn’t hear my group. Probably related to the Duke-UNC march madness game everyone was watching. All in all, a fun watering hole.

The first time I came here the service and drinks were good. But this time… There was a woman who looked like Debra from the showtime television series dexter and a boy who was tall, bearded, long ish haired and had a bandana and were both incredibly rude. I went back tonight to revisit this bar I had loved so much the first time I went and I was ignored many times(even after making eye contact), while i remained polite and courteous. I don’t think they should have even deserved a 10% tip let along 20%. They were incredibly rude and weren’t even busy considering they had time to talk to each other in a huddle while every so often taking a glance in my direction. Learn to be more professional. Instead of going to the new customers why don’t you be good little children and serve the ones that are more loyal? Pieces of shit.

Free drink with your brunch entrée… I highly recommend the grilled pineapple mint mojito. The burger with peanut butter and grilled pork is awesome! ! Must try. Love the pillows and décor. My server was great. he asked for a specialty sauce to be made because I don’t do ketchup for my fries.

It’s loud, and the appetizers are expensive for what you get. A platter with a bit of cheese, 3 meat choices(not much of each) and a small starter bread dish… $ 26. Ouch! Ok, so much for the negatives. The staff is great. Sara,(a NY native Dominican background… «the only Caribbean person I know who is on time,» she says) is terrific. Always checking back, ready to help, joke around, refill whatever needs refilling. The tables in the back are great for groups… and the groups couldn’t be friendlier! There’s nice beer list(including the great Texan Shiner Bock). The place goes from crowded to empty in seconds… so you’ll never know! –Drink Club NYC is a roving group of NYC drinkers, a different bar every week!

This place has a great quality in that is it well-equipped to comfortably handle large group gatherings at night(never been for brunch). Many people have this same insight, and thus it can and will get loud inside(I couldn’t really hear/remember the music, if that’s something that’s important to you). Just a fair warning: conversing with the person sitting next to you will most likely involve both parties yelling. There could be secrets galore being shared by other patrons here, and no one else would notice because you’re still repeating your name to the new friend you’ve met. But, I guess all the yelling did not really affect our group much, because we still managed to sing/scream our hearts out to System of a Down’s Chop Suey at a karaōke bar after visiting Rogue & Canon, lol.

Nice atmosphere. Odd music choices… like 1940’s. Only had drinks here, but was nice to sit by the open windows on a nice day. Good place to stop for a drink.

I could talk about how cool this bar is, how they have a great selection of beers and cocktails, how it was lovely and quiet at 6pm on a Friday night, how I loved the lamps, blah blah blah blah… But I will leave it at this — the lady bartender looks like Deborah from the show Dexter! We told her that she must get it all the time and she could’ve reacted negatively about it. But no, instead she laughed and told us about her encounter with the actress. That’s how awesome this place is.

Oh dichotomies. Who comes here for the«canon» stuff? Eggs Benedict is everywhere. Having tried Rogue & Canon’s «rogue» items, I think the draw lies more in the novelty of their off-kilter dishes, rather than how well-executed or –contemplated their food is. I got the Duck, Duck, Pig($ 15) — essentially a pork chorizo/brussels sprout/potato hash in beer BBQ sauce, topped with a poached duck egg and slices of duck prosciutto. It was delicious, and every bit as protein-heavy as it sounds… but the BBQ sauce in that quantity created unnecessary and unwelcome sweetness. For better or worse, the thick toast points tasted like fresh, sweet-ish white bread from Asian bakeries. My friend took advantage of the Rogue Brunch($ 27): «Hangover Lo Mein» entrée with little sides of tempura pickles(it’s fried pickles, it’s great) and deviled eggs(it’s deviled eggs, also great), plus your choice of bloody mary. The Hangover Lo Mein was not good — the thicker noodles needed to be cooked to a greater tenderness, and the whole thing was an over-sauced, over-salted mess. I didn’t think they’d take the hangover part(i.e. low standards for food…) so seriously, but Chinese takeout lo mein would trump this one several times over. Also, the noodles were served in a takeout box(cute) with wooden chopsticks stuck straight up in the food. Tsk tsk, shame on Rogue & Canon for not researching this taboo before the mild cultural-appropriation fun!(In many East Asian cultures, you can’t stick your chopsticks vertically into the food because it evokes the idea of burning incense at funeral rites, and death in general.) They offer 6 different variations on a bloody mary. We both went for the BLT bloody, made with bacon vodka and garnished with a piece of thick-cut bacon. It was delicious! Not quite spicy enough and not very strong, but still worth a second round even at $ 12 each. The space during brunch is nice and quiet and a bit dark, aside from the windows being thrown open to let air/light in. It looks exactly like what it is: a bar/lounge open during brunch, and isn’t nearly as crowded as some of the more established brunch places nearby(cough Jane ). Despite my eye-rolling whenever restaurant names include ampersands(IT’S GETTINGOLD, PEOPLE), I’m still really drawn to the name and concept of Rogue & Canon. But I’d sooner come back for the cocktails than the food.
