Pretty good gramma style thick crust. Not as good as Carlos on metro but hey… Get you a couple cases of beer across the street at the beer distro

I came here once with my relatives that keep kosher, and was not at all impressed. The place seems dirty, the staff is condescending. Some good things about this place: the garlic knots, the grandma pies, and the location. If you don’t keep kosher, you can get better service elsewhere. If you do keep kosher, then this is just another run of the mill kosher pizza place.

BUYERBEWARE — NOLONGERKOSHER. Unfortunately, original partners split up and it was taken over by the original owner. Check with Rabbi Schreier @ OU(212) 563−4000×342 before use.

Kosher pizza stores aren’t good because they don’t have to be. They are usually dirty places run by little scowling Israeli guys who throw your change down onto the counter. They always have charity boxes chained to the table that are encrusted in decade old oregano flakes and if the pizza costs less than $ 3 a slice you think you got a good deal — add to the fact that the pizza sits out all day long. Rosas is different, maybe because it’s run by some pretty mean looking Italian guys that have thicker New Yawk accents than most of the NYPD, or maybe it’s because the pizza is so damned good. It’s all in the sauce I’m told, but I enjoyed the whole slice. Been there twice and both times I was blown away by the selection, speedy service and the grandma slices. Go to Rosas and get the grandma slice — you will be very happy.

via … your source for Kosher Restaurant News! Best Kosher Pizza. Period. We’ll, it comes in a close second to Pizza Sababa on Emek Rafaim in Jerusalem. But as far as the USA is concerned however it is #1. Situated on the first floor of the empire state building(easiest access is from 33rd street) you can expect to see a diverse crowd of patrons at this pizzeria at all business hours. Their variety rivals that of non-kosher restaurants(minus the meat of course). At any given time you can also expect to see about 10 different kinds of pizzas on the table. Today I went with two regular slices which were fresh from the oven and did not need reheating. They were amazing! The taste of the dough/sauce/cheese just has its own kind of flavor and doesn’t taste generic like most all other kosher pizzerias. At $ 2.50 a slice its a much better deal than Jerusalem 2 also so why not eat better pizza and save money at the same time. The fresh mozzarella slice however is the best slice they offer and it is amazing, I highly recommend going with it and a regular slice if it’s your first time there. Get a side of ranch from the salad bar and dip your pizza in it — you won’t be let down at the awesomeness that will enter your mouth. Some downsides of this place was that the counter guy was kind of a jerk and impatient with peoples ordering. It also took a few minutes to pay which in the world of hot pizza every minute counts towards freshness. Still — the pizza is amazing and you should definitely go there if you are ever in midtown! PS. Like most kosher places, a dairy restaurant would not be complete with a sushi and salad bar tucked away in the corner and Rosas is no exception to the rule. I have had a salmon avocado roll as well as a regular salad and they were both up to par and definitely a viable option if you do not feel like having pizza.

Given that: (1) Kosher food is always more expensive (2) I don’t like pizza all that much Then it’s surprising that I really like the Grandma Pies here. I don’t know if the heaps of garlic(big fan), or the sweet tomato sauce, the bits of mozzarella cheese, or the peppery bite of the basil leaves, but sometimes, I crave this pizza. Did I mention I don’t like pizza? Wow, I kinda want some right now.

Liked it before it became kosher and still like it now that its Kosher. When it was non-kosher I got the buffalo chicken pizza and once it became Kosher I started getting the vodka sauce penne pizza. Same price. Same people. Just a different owner. Once it became kosher they incorporated many different things obviously and did away with the old. They added sushi which I never tried since this is a pizza place after all. My former boss who could only eat Kosher food ordered everyday from here and actually liked it better then Circa. Go figure! Oh and their wraps are really small. They complained about that…

Today I met my friend Emily for lunch. Usually we have our lunch dates at Circa(on 33rd and 5th), but we decided to try Rosa’s Kosher Pizza and Pasta, the pizza store in the Empire State Building that became Kosher a few months ago. The menu was pretty similar to Circa’s. I ordered some sort of beany vegetable soup. It was a bit bland at first but I added salt and that helped make it more flavorful. The soup came with half of a roll, which was kind of doughy in the middle and really delicious. Overall, I was satisfied with my lunch, but not amazed. I liked that the restaurant itself was less crowded than Circa usually is, and it seems that you are less likely to run into people you know. From:

Before it went kosher I would have given it 4 or 5 stars but it’s really gone downhill since the OU arrived. Prices went up and quality went down. There are better options in the area for sure, like Little Italy pizza across 5th avenue.

I like this pizza. It’s pricey, but it’s inside the Empire State Building so what do you expect.

I have a new guitly pleasure and it is Rosa’s baked ziti. I eat there at least once a week, maybe twice. The place is a little small, but it is so good. And for $ 5, why not?

My mother works at the Empire State Building. Since the only time aside from weekends I can see her is her lunch break, I spend a lot of time at various Empire State Building restaurants. Whenever my mother and I don’t feel like a fancy, expensive place, we head to Rosa’s Pizza. I’ve been to a few different locations around town. This one is definitely my favorite. The décor is simple but effective: the walls are lined with mirrors, making for a bright and festive space. The counter servers are always very polite, and some of them make sure to say hi to the regular customers. The place is spotless, much cleaner than some of the other Rosa’s Pizza places I’ve been to. The food is pretty good. Of course we all know that New York has the best pizza in the world — but even within the great, there are gradations. Rosa’s is definitely in the top 20% of great pizzas — and their salads are absolutely divine!
