Ruby Bird Photography

My fiancée and I had an engagement shoot with Nicole a few months ago, and we couldn’t be happier! We also have a 6 year old son who was in some of the pictures, so now I also have some holiday pictures for family! While her talent with kids is natural and shines through all her photos, Nicole also truly captured the emotions of joy, laughter, and love between just the two of us. She is such a lovely, genuine person who clearly loves photography and has a way of making her subject feel at ease in front of a camera. In the initial couple of shots, I sensed that my fiancée was not completely being himself, and when I voiced my concern, Nicole immediately made a joke which got his wonderful smile that I love so much to come out. In addition to the classic portraits, the rest of the shoot was all about getting us to have fun as she captured some of the most genuine moments just joking around and being ourselves.
There was no lack of smiles and laughs that day! We were truly blown away when we saw our pictures, they are absolutely perfect! Nicole, you are truly the best!

We have had 2 photo shoots with Ruby Bird Photography over the past year, and have been so impressed! Nicole has an eye for lighting and what to look for. To boot, she is also really good with kids! My kids (5 and 2) had no problem with her direction, and I was surprised at how they listened to her and responded to her throughout the shoot. Our first shoot was at the beach, and the photos are stunning! In particular, she caught my husband (gently) throwing our then 2 year old up in the air and catching her. The action shots with her hair blowing were incredible. Our second shoot was my daughter’s 3^rd bday party. How she managed to get ~15 kids to cooperate for a picture is amazing. My favorite pictures there are of the grandparents with my girls. I cannot give any higher praise for a photographer. You will not be disappointed, and I cannot wait to hire her again!

We had a photo session for our daughter who just turned one year old. Nicole was very flexible in the scheduling process, very helpful in choosing a nice outdoor location, and was extremely patient with our daughter who was not exactly sitting still. Add to that our two small dogs that wanted to be in the pictures and a consistently strong wind. Even with all of that, the pictures came out great. We were extremely satisfied with her work, and we have pictures that we are proud to show off! Thanks Nicole!
