I was walking down 14th St. on my way to Chipotle when I saw this cart. What caught my eye was the fact that you get a free soda or water with the purchase of any platter or Gyro. It was a very humid night and I did not want to go to Duane Reade for the third time that day just to get a drink for my dinner.
The man was very nice.
The rice was average, nothing special.
Chicken was flavorful and tender.
Really liked how you get onions and green peppers in the salad instead of the usual lettuce.
White sauce unfortunately was a bit dull compared to other halal carts.
Definitely one of the bette carts in the union square, east village area.

I was introduced to this cart by a friend who was a student at NYU. I used to go to the Halal guys and pay more for less. Now I ONLY go to this cart for Halal. Since living in NYC I’ve tried many halal guys and this cart is literally the best all the way around.
QUANTITY — If you’re not full after one platter of this, you must eat as much as a lion.
QUALITY! — He gives you a good portion of meat (NO SKIMPING), veggies (brocoli, onions, peppers, more), CURRY POTATOES (which I don’t see any cart do.
PRICE– It’s $ 5 dollars for a hefty platter and you get a drink no extra cost! Sandwiches/​Gyros are $ 4 which you still get a free drink with!!!
I don’t know what the rave about Halal guys is. Its not flavorful like these guys. They give you the spices of the middle east! Plus they have the chutney sauce that I LOVE!
