Typical Harlem take-out, no frills Jamaican spot. It is much more authentic than many other fast food places, and a much better option than visiting any chain fast food place if you want a filling bite to eat. Oxtails are good and hearty. Mac n’ Cheese is also tasty, very cheesy. The safety barriers which separate the workers from the customers add to the charm of this place. Great spot for a late night after Shrine across the street; much cheaper and way more casual than dining in at Ya Tenga.

Hole in the wall, but best jerk chicken I’ve ever had in NYC. The stereotypes can sometimes ring true tho– despite what the menu says they only have 4 dishes at most, all the sides except rice and peas probably just ran out, and don’t expect any service with a smile haha. But the jerk/stew/curry chicken and oxtails are amazing and thats what counts, right?

Typical Jamaican spot. «Do you have Mac and Cheese?» «Nah brethren. Mac ahn cheese nah ready» It seemed like a renovated Kennedy Fried Chicken. 2 inch thick Windows all around. Loud music. So loud that the staff couldn’t hear the order. You would think they would think that screaming and saying«huh?» Would get tiresome. Nope. The food was good… well whatever food they had. As most West Indian spots go, limited food that’s not rice and beans. Eh.

Local jamaican spot I like their patties, brown stew chicken and oxtails. I had their fried chicken but it was dry to me. This is a no frills hood spot that satisfy my JA craving when needed. not the best but serves it’s purpose and is damn sure better than lame azz golden crust.

I ordered a medium oxtails with rice and peas, and my goodness, I was eating for 3 days! The oxtails were really good(it’s all I get at Jamaican spots anyways). It’s cash only, but there’s an ATM right at the door.

OFFICIAL. oxtail although a little sweeter than I like was tender and good portion. Curry Goat was good as well. Had ackee and salt fish. haven’t done jerk yet. I keep going back. and I’ve tried at least 5 other West Indian spots in Harlem. this one has them beat.

Rusty’s is a Jamaican styled Carribean restaurant in Harlem. They specialize in everything you could imagine, from oxtails to curry goat and jerk chicken to red pea soup. and now they have a new store thats more pacious and appealing to customers so the skys the limit for rusty and crew. Try this place out and you wont be sorry!!!

I WANTED to like this place but whats with the candy pink sauce you put on the Jerk Chicken ??? I’m kind of a jerk chicken-snob(from Miami to NYC) and I judge a Jamaican spot based on their jerk … and I Have never had that sauce before… its just sweet and weird. I will come back to try other things but not the jerk chicken. It is local which you can tell by the local hood rats sitting outside. it adds to the grittiness of it all… I like

So good. It’s a hole in the wall, but probably the best Jamaican food in the area. Older Men come in there asking for a shot of «tiger bone» so they can get it on with their younger lovers. It’s kind of funny, if you go in the evening you’ll witness it. My friends boyfriend found this spot one day, I would have never gone in if he didn’t tell me about it. The Mac n cheese is amazing! So is the oxtail. My friend loves the jerk chicken. If Rusty fixes your plate he usually hooks it up. It’s pretty clean for a hole in the wall and always seems to have an a rating. It’s cash only and there’s a ATM inside.

Whenever my husband and I want some jerk chicken, Rustys is our go to spot. The rice is ways cooked well and the jerk chicken is great, if you get it ask for extra red sauce. The place is tiny so you’ll find plenty of car double parked outside and something people out front waiting as well. Rusty’s has plants of other well tasting dishes, but I enjoy the jerk chicken most.

Stop in get the real deal yard style jerk chicken with jerk sauce and oxtail gravy on your rice and peas. Oh yeah they are open really late and bring cash to one of my favorite Jamaican joints. One of the girls has a attitude but overlook it, get your food and go home happy.
