I absolutely love this place!!! I’ve been coming here since it opened, I’ve also brought my teenage daughter and my toddler here for her very first cut. We love Tania, we get the absolute best cut from hair as well as color whether it’s an ombré, sombre, highlights or single process she handles it all. I recommend this place to all of my friends. The girls at the salon are super friendly and hilarious. They handled my toddler with so much patience. Will travel from anywhere to come and get my cut from Tania.

Mary is one of the most talented hairstylist’s in the Northeast. She continues to exceed my expectations and I never leave her salon disappointed. Even though I moved out of Brooklyn years ago, I still commute back from Connecticut just to get my hair done by her. I will continue to support her Brooklyn location until I can convince her to open one in CT!

GORGEOUS! I went to Mary to get something unique for my cousins wedding. I showed her some pictures and ideas, which we used to bounce off each other. With her expert advise on recreating a style based on those pictures, came this gorgeous look that had everyone complimenting me ALL NIGHT! Aside from this updo I get my hair cut and styled with Mary, which as always, is done beautifully. The prices are fair, compared to other salons in this neighborhood, who are way overpriced for what they do. I know people who work in those places and HATE even working there, and tell me the background of how those «stylist» really feel about their clients.
Needless to say I love Mary and always leave extremely happy with my experience at Salon Malave. They definitely have my loyalty.

I’ve had a wonderful experience with Tanya at Salon Malave. I was very nervous to dye my hair but Tanya did a consultation with me first and she concluded the best treatment for my hair would be an ombré. She did a wonderful job with it and made me feel really comfortable with as it was my first experience dying my hair. She gave me the best hair cut I’ve ever had to bring out the full effect of the ombré. I’ve had my hair blown out by Tanya and Mary and each time it looked wonderful. I really have no complaints and its a beautiful salon close to home. It’s convenient in the Dyker Heights area because good salons around here are hard to find. I’ve had nothing but good experiences with the staff. I also know a lot of my friends that go here too. They are the ones that brought me on to Salon Malave and I’m a happy camper!

I was disgusted with these girls on the morning of my wedding! They wanted me in at 10am then changed to 9am the night before. 9 hours before my ceremony & 7 hours before picture taking. I called & told them that 9am was too early & I wasn’t feeling well. They told me if we were late we’d all get charged an extra fee. Then she asked if I was «hung over.» They were so nasty & I never gave a deposits so I went to Salon Da Noi & they did an amazing job!

I LOVE this place! It’s nostalgic mixed with professionalism! Mary K Malave is the BEST at hair color and cut/​style and much MORE. Aside from her celebrity client styling she takes on regular clients and styles them like celebrities. She cares and she listens and then she does magic with your hair like you’ve never thought possible. She’s so fun and my favorite «Hairapist» in the world! You really should pay her and her salon a visit, this is a referral you will not regret.
