Schneiderman and Friedman Cpa’s

I’ve been going to Stuart Schneiderman for my tax needs for over 20 years. He’s not just an expert, he is detail oriented and one of the nicest guys around. We’ve never had a problem in those 2 (plus) Decades and neither have any of the scores of friends I have recommended use his services. You cannot go wrong with Stuart — especially if you work in the Performing Arts in any way. He knows the ins and outs of tax-​law like nobody else.

Stuart has helped us receive more back on our tax return than any other service/​CPA we’ve used. It’s always nice to sit in his office while he finds ways to get us the most money back. The fee is relatively hefty, but comparatively percentage-​wise you come out WAY on top.
Only complaint is it takes a little while for them to return phone calls. Otherwise love this office!

Stuart is a great guy and he really takes his time to tell you everything he’s doing and explain it in lay man’s terms, which for me is crucial because all of that tax lingo can really confuse me, and I’m a pretty smart cookie! These guys are great. I have been working with Stuart for 5 years now and he has been keeping me and my business on track. I can’t say my experience is anything like any of the bad reviews I am reading. Stuart has been there for me when I needed him. As for his price, I wish it was cheaper, but I have compared his with other friends and it evens out from what I can tell.

Stuart was originally recommended to me by a friend, and I only just found out that that friend has actually stopped going to him because of mistakes he made on her tax returns. I figured that since he charged more than twice as much as some other CPA’s, that he must be one of the best. That was actually a mistake. He was fairly nice in person, but he still charged me over $ 300 what my friend said I should expect to pay, and my taxes are very basic with no stocks, real estate or special deductions.
He forgot to send me part of my tax return and wasn’t very responsive when I requested the other half that wasn’t sent. I did eventually get it but it took a lot of effort on my part.
The major issue I had was that he said he could save me from paying NYC city tax by using an out of state address. When I started using a new CPA for this year’s taxes, he said that Stuart hadn’t filed this part correctly and that my not paying the city tax was a major red flag to get audited. I had to pay the new CPA extra to correctly file the back taxes I owed the city, and I’ve just gotten a notice from the city saying I owed a thousand dollars in penalties and interest because I was a year late in paying them. I feel like I’m still getting burned by the mistakes he made over a year ago and just want to put all of this mess behind me. Fortunately I now have a reliable and affordable accountant I trust to work with me to make sure everything is filed correctly going forward.

Stuart charged me way more than I was quoted on the phone, filed my taxes very incorrectly, couldn’t explain the multiple mistake he had made, falsely told me I was a victim of identity theft, and basically was so unprofessional that I don’t know why he’s still in business.
I had to ask another CPA to look over my tax returns to explain what had happened. Simply a terrible CPA and I’m shocked his company, cpaservicesbysf, was recommended to me. Do not waste your money on this guy.

Stuart Schneiderman is a dishonest and HORRIBLE tax accountant. I paid quite a bit for my 2011 taxes in 2012 and he FORGOT to submit them. I was then charged a pretty high penalty and had to spend MONTHS dealing with the tax board. When I confronted him about this, he blamed it on a computer bug. I sent him the 2011 document he sent me after my tax return that confirmed that he was responsible to submit this electronically, when I asked him he then sent me an new form saying that I owed it electronically. He CHANGED the wording and tried to trick me into thinking I was responsible for submitting the return when he was responsible and had been for years.
Do NOT go to this CPA, he will take your money, make significant mistakes and will not be accountable when he makes mistakes– in fact he disappears and doesn’t email or call back.
