Standard Mexican bar conveniently next to the Jackson Heights transportation hub. Surprised by the clientele? Well, welcome to central queens, ho! Honestly, I’d probably only come here to get a quick bevy before heading to LGA or on the way to meet friends elsewhere if I had time to kill. Speaking Spanish(central american although the girls working the bar are usually colombian/dominican) will get you a long way here, but at the end of the day, names of alcohol and beer are pretty much universal and you should do just fine. However, if you must know, they have all the modelos, corona, heneiken, victoria and a good selection of blended scotch: johhnies red and blac, buchanans, etc Either way, this place actually gets pretty crowded at night; during the day its a good mix of Spanish speakers and Eastern European construction workers. The women behind the bar are almost ALWAYS in sky-high heels and revealing clothing. Use that last bit of info as you wish. A bar’s really just a bar, at the end of the day, and this place does just fine.

I was cruising with some friends in Jackson Heights looking for a cool place to get a drink and the black scorpion silhouette on a yellow background caught our attention. We looked inside and we saw only two separate people drinking at the bar and no one occupying the table. We wanted a place that was a little more lively and not so dead at 11pm on a Wednesday night. The prices are cheap though. For a tapas bar, this place isn’t cozy at all. The restaurant is full of metal bar stools with pub-height tables which don’t really look all that comfortable. My friends and I ended up going to the bar next door called Café 75 which was just as cheap, but had more people, softer seating and better music.
