Had no idea this was affiliated with Boxers in Chelsea until the 2 for 1 drink card stated so! Such different bars, the crowd at this location is much more diverse. Plus they have an outdoor garden area which is great! Bartenders were quick to help. No stools around the tables near the bar though, bummer.

great 2 for 1 happy hour. good bar food. weirdly loud music — customers are sitting talking but music is dance volume.

Large space great for parties or large groups. The bar is well stock and most of the Tenders:) know how to make a good drink. The foods is also very tasty for bar food… i was quite surprised. The wings, samitches:) and tacos all very good. Spinach dip super cheesy the way I like it. Best part is the 2 for 1 drink special every HH… dont miss it!!!

Ok so the manager is awesome and so are the bartenders they were even kind enough to charge my phone! But I walked my friend out and the ugly short cashier tried to bar me from coming back in despite having had a table and spent a considerable amount. First and last time here, I’m not spending hundreds to get an ugly cashier try to bar me entrance.

Shadow Boxers is a good bar for HH. I’ve been here maybe 3 times now. The buy one get one deal is nice, but not the best. It’s worth it with beers since a beer is about $ 7 – 8. If you want a well drink or liquor, it’ll be more like $ 12 – 15 a drink. I’ve seen better HH deals out there. I’ve tried the food here as well. The nachos and wings are pretty good. Calamari is pretty solid too. I’m not a fan of the ahi tuna tacos at all. They’re so bland. Service could use more work. The one time we got a table here, our server was barely around. She would come every 15 – 20 minutes, which was not enough time for a party of 15 guests. There were people constantly looking for her to get another drink or order food or get some shots. It just took such a long time to get ahold of her whenever we needed something. I like the scene here, but the bad service is a huge turn off. I’m debating if I’ll be here again. I might, we’ll see.

Beware. The scanning of your ID is the first hint that you should leave the place. The drinks are ok and service is too. The food is well below acceptable standards and the taste is only through copious volumes of some kind of sauce or condiment. Avoid.

Affiliated with Boxers in Hells Kitchen and Chelsea, Shadow Boxers is the less raunchy of the trio. Standard outdoor area and definitely more food choices. I would call this one straight friendly.

The place and space are great for a sports bar. But don’t come expecting good service. Waiters are slow and nonchalant. Beware, for groups of four or more it seems they automatically add 20% tip without telling you and without giving you an itemized receipt. In summary, nothing much to rave about.

Stopped by this place for an impromptu celebration drink late on a Wednesday night and was surprised to see a small party in full effect. It seems to host nights for corporate and private events as well as cater to the average bar hopper who happens by. This is a nice sized place that has the ambiance of an upscale club in midtown Manhattan(their ID checking process is no joke). The music was loud and a good variety of tunes were played and accompanied by their music videos on several big screen TVs that lined the venue. The highlight of our night here was the super friendly and personable staff. What they lacked in attentiveness at the bar was outweighed by the fun and down-to-earth energy that they all exuded. That’s usually so rare to find in this part of the city. I should mention that I came here after a long night of pick-up basketball and still donned my sweaty gear. It mattered not. Give this place a shot. Hopefully you’ll have as good a time as we did.

generically upscale sports bar. Pretty spacious so good for groups. Good location for commuters leaving from Port Authority who want a drink on their way home. Very busy for happy hour. Dead later in the evening. NOT a good place to meet up if you want to have a conversation while you drink. It’s extremely loud even when not busy. Main drawback is the atrocious service. It’s hard to get a bartender’s attention when at the bar. And the table service is even worse. Service appears to be better for large groups, but if you’re with a small group of friends choose another place

Food is decent but more importantly, drinks are reliable and it accommodates a big crowd. Good for drinks with a large groups or watching a game with co-workers. I’m taking off a point because I’ve been here several times and each time the wait for food is too long – especially since it wasn’t even crowded. The timeliness of food service should be improved. Due to the proximity of the office, I’ll probably be back.

We had fun! It wasn’t crowded but a nice level. Maurice, the bartender was great. He knew how to make his drinks and get his dance on; it was a good night.

I came here last night on St Patrick’s Day. I work directly across the street and was here another time for lunch with coworkers a few months back. The place is nice, but service isn’t great. Last night wasn’t too crowded. My friend and I walked right up to the bar. There were 3 guys behind the bar who didn’t come over to us even though they were not tending to other customers at the time. We ended up flagging one of them down after about 5 minutes of standing there. Budlight on tap was $ 7. The place has potential to be a hot spot, the atmosphere was trendy. When I came for lunch a few months back, I got the kale salad with chicken. It was awesome but a bit over priced. Service wasn’t that great, the waiter didn’t know the menu well. They advertise their outdoor seating, but the outdoor seating is just a small patio out back between buildings with a few high top tables.

The winter has kept many people home so this bar was kind of quiet on a few occasions recently but when I came here on some nights late last year we had a pretty good time. The layout is sophisticated for a gay-ish sort of club(it is not a nominally gay spot every night so straights won’t feel out of place). I’ll say the place definitely has potential as it has a great layout and a downstairs«man cave», though it’s mostly a dance floor/party space. It’s also very convenient to the subways though in an area of midtown outside the main gay/mixed/whatever strip of bars in Hells Kitchen or Chelsea. Again the vibe is kind of cool but more word needs to get out about this place. It definitely could be a banging spot for Sat night parties and happy hours.

My Firm organized a group event for approximately 75 people at Shadow Boxers for drinks after a training event. Our event at Shadow Boxers was for 2 hours. The first issues was that we only had one server for at least 75 people so that it took about 20 – 25 minutes to get a drink. When we went to the bar to try and speed up the process, the bartender and manager insisted we pay individually for the drinks even though we had a prearranged group tab with the establishment. The manager was difficult and for some reason struggled with the concept of having 1 tab unless everyone ordered from a single person in the bar who was incredibly overwhelmed. My other issue was that this was planned in advance, but the appetizers we ordered didn’t show up for 1 hour. Given that we had a 2 hour event, this was a big miss in my opinion. I am sure that if you walk off the street and are looking for a bar to have a drink with a couple of friends Shadow Boxers is probably fine, but if you have a group, I would definitely recommend steering clear of this place.

I was completely surprised how easy it was to come here during the New Years Eve celebration, considering that the whole Times Square district was cordoned off. We were instructed by the party organizer to just print out our invite and show it to the on duty police officer manning the street to let us through. It was really that easy! The place is an upscale version of the other Boxer’s bars in Chelsea and Hell’s Kitchen. It also has a vibe that it intends to cater to everyone. It boasts a multilevel dance floors, bars, DJ booths and an open air back patio. It is also a good place to grab some nibbles and lite bites. They serve Sunday brunch here as well, but to be honest, I’ve never tried any of it yet. They offer happy hour on Weekends and accept reservations for private parties and events. This place is a great pit stop for a night out. With solid customer service, I will definitely come back.

What a relief to find this place in midtown manhatten after going to a bunch of overcrowded and trashy bars! The staff is amazing, friendly and super attentive! Love the shot guy! They had a great drink selection, good specials and a nice lounge area to accommodate our large group. Wish we could’ve gone back for brunch the next day it sounded so fun and entertaining but we had a train to catch.

Someone told me this was a gay bar. It didn’t seem as such, well until I got my butt grabbed. Irregardless of that, Friday night after work was pretty fun. The music was great, happy hour deals were cheap, crowd was packed. I had a good time.

Very cool and über on-trend upscale, straight-friendly(what a twist) sports bar. Lighting, colors, huge floral arrangements and TV screens are awesome and it comes with a beautiful marble bar countertop. Being a part of Boxers family means there are hot & cute bartenders, but here of both genders. Being of Boxers family unfortunately also means blasting, ear-splitting music… you can hardly hear yourself talk. Good thing the nighttime ambiance is so cool to partially offset that. It’s near the NY Times building and probably will get a good business lunch and post-5pm crowd. Hope people find this place on weekend nights. Right now on Friday we’re enjoying 2−4−1 Happy Hour 9-midnight!
