Seandel does good work; he’s a solid craftsman with good aesthetic sensibilities. But, he’s always talking about«trust,» with«thousands of customers all over the world» who work with him on the basis of trust. Most people who always talk about trust, have trust issues. Too often, the focus on trust is because they, themselves, can’t be trusted. Sure enough, we ordered tables from him, to be done in a particular way. He insisted on prepayment in full, by wire not by credit card, before we saw the finished product, and then delivered the finished product done in a different way that we specifically did not want. They’re lovely, but they’re not what we wanted. His response was to blame us for the mistake and to refuse to do a thing about it. He could easily have said, «sorry for the miscommunication … send them back and I’ll sell them in my studio and send you what you were expecting.» Nothing doing … it was all about blame deflection and bragging about his thousands of happy customers who deal with him on the basis of trust. I feel sorry for him. Must be miserable to be a person who doesn’t take responsibility, blames others, and is obsessed with trust because he doesn’t trust anyone and can’t be trusted. Sad.
