On Friday May 17th2013, 6pm my friends and I received appalling table service. No water refills even when we asked, milk for my coffee was spilled on my leg by the waiter as he was checking out girls outside, and with 4 people on the floor we had no idea who our waiter even was. They were careless and apathetic towards our needs and eventually the check was dropped on us right after I asked for a coffee refill and the waiter brought regular and I sent him back for decaf — I tried to tell him twice. Every time I pass this restaurant I now have a story to tell. Awesome food. Awesome burger. Horrendous service.

Daughter was shopping in Soho and eating breakfast at Starbucks. .. I needed a real meal and found one at Silver Spurs. The menu had some excellent choices and after chatting with Lola, my server, she suggested a chicken with chili dish. Being from Colorado /New Mexico, we have the best chili around, so i was skeptical, but i decided to give it a try. Glad i took the chance because it was delicious! The food was spicy and flavorful. Lola was charming and fun to talk to. The people came and left in waves so it seemed the popular local spot. Would definitely go here again!

I came here with my friend about a month ago. I’ve been a few times. I get the Mac and cheese with chicken and he gets the chicken quesadilla. I always like my dish and he also has no complaints. Service is decent, but they pretty much leave you to it. Price is ok. No wow factor but you can eat and not be disappointed. Works for me!

Its diner food… cant really add much more than that… the place was clean, the service was quick and the price was a touch below the normal NYC prices… again, it’s a diner… not much more to it…

Typical American diner. The fries are good — but«good» in the way of that you regret it afterwards. The colossal burgers are quite big(true to the name). Hard to fit in your mouth all at once. That said, the quality of the burger is pretty average, even slightly below average. But what can you expect? Good diner for brunch, esp. if you’re hungover and hungry.

Meh is correct. Once visited this diner off Broadway. Didn’t think much of it. Wasn’t amazing, wasn’t terrible. Had a burger(beware doesn’t come with fries, you have to order it «deluxe»). Might return. Might not.

I quite liked this place. We turned up around 11am on a Saturday morning and they managed to find us a table. It’s definitely not cosy — all the furniture is aluminium,(British spelling!) so much more functional/stylised than red leather benches cosy. The service was lovely, very friendly and some small attempt to understand my accent.(Always appreciated!) I had poached eggs on wholewheat toast with some bacon. It was all delicious and I forgot that you usually get some sort of potato with breakfast that I usually leave because it’s soggy. This was more like little squares of crispy fried potato that were really scrummy. I polished those off! It was very medium on price and I enjoyed the experience quite a lot. I would definitely go back.

This place has been opened for the longest time. Every time I visit NY, I made it a point to visit Silver spurs for breakfast. They have awesome waffles AND the freshest fresh-squeezed orange juice.

An unexpected break in my work day gave me an unexpected chance for breakfast at the counter of Silver Spurs. Being right next door meant I could sit and enjoy what was a hearty, fine order of a mushroom and cheese omelette, hash browns, and toast. While not the best I’ve ever had, it was good, the place was orderly, and all as expected.

I eat here occasionally due to the location. Each time, the service is polite and prompt, while the food is non-descript and unremarkable. They can make a proper fried egg but the hash browns are always a soggy mess of mush. To each his own. It just don’t work for me…

3.5 stars(only because our server LEFT for the day before collecting the check from us… umm, who were we tipping exactly?) Food was great! Its a diner, great big portions, tasty and fresh. We started off with guac and chips which were creamy and flavorful. My friend got the Huevos Rancheros, the other one got a grilled chicken burger(he wanted breaded chicken, but the waitress seemed to think grilled and breaded were the same thing. When we called that out she just played dumb). The orange juice was fresh, coffee was great. I had the Scottish eggs benedict and was extremely pleased! However when the check arrived, our server LEFT. She didn’t collect our checks(someone else did) so we left a less tip considering we didn’t know who we were paying. That’s why the deduction in stars.

Well I was real hungry and decided to stop in for a bite. After looking at over 50 choices of different types of food, which is a lot to decide on a menu. I decided on a Colossal Burger. The Sadie Night Special was the name of the burger. I don’t know why cause there was nothing special about this colossal burger except it was pretty big maybe 13 ounces. It came with a slice of cheese on a bun that’s it and was not cooked like I had ordered. I ordered medium and it came out medium well. You know there is a big difference between medium and medium well. The sweet potato fries were good. But over all the execution and the presentation of food was just eehh. When you get a burger it usually comes with sides like lettuce and tomato, no nothing here. Not even a pickle, WTF! Service was fine and courteous so that gets a star. If not for that this place really deserves 1 star. I don’t think this place is worth a return visit just your run of the mill diner with sub par food.

We have been grabbing breakfast at this Diner for over two years. In the spirit of watching our weight and our pocket books, we always order the same breakfast and just share it. This morning our waitress announced that there would be a $ 4 surcharge to share. Give me a break! We voted with our feet leaving immediately — no more Silver Spurs Diner. There are dozens and dozens of Diners in the city — many of whom have better food to boot.

3.5 Place is the Tony Parker of breakfast. Not the greatest because it’s surrounded by bigger and better places, but always is a respectable choice when you experience it. Silver Spurs is consistent and delicious. I don’t mess with their lunches or dinners, but when it comes to the breakfast this place is always a good call. The omelets and potatoes are the one-two punch you need to start off any NYC morning. Prices are good. Service is usually good and when you want to keep it simple without being too adventurous, then Silver Spurs is the right move. Not much more to say than that.

3.5 stars. SO.MUCH.MEAT. I was visiting New York for the first time and I told my friend who goes to NYU to take me some place that has good burgers. His friends suggested Silver Spurs. Atmosphere: It’s a standard diner. There’s a lot of seating. We were there on a Sunday night and it wasn’t too crowded. Food: I ordered the Conestoga Burger(cheese, bacon, bbq sauce) with Fries. The meat patty is ginormous and juicy, but overall it became way to overwhelming for me and I couldn’t finish the burger — there was also a lack of veggies(ahem none at all, but that’s their style I’m assuming). The taste was great though and definitely memorable, plus the french fries were crispy and nicely seasoned. Prices are good for the amount of food(MEAT) you get. Service: Average. If I ever crave heaps of meat burger style I’ll probably think of this place.

I came here with a friend to do some pre-shopping eating. I had a veggie burger and she had a cheese burger. The service was pretty awful, but the food was not bad, but definitely overpriced. If you’re looking for a cool spot to people-watch, or a nicer than normal standard NY veggie burger, this is an OK place. Better diners exist, though.

Excellent typial American style diner, and they serve the best burger I had in New York during my trip! Massive 10 oz burger made of top quality meat, and when cooked medium rare, was extremely juicy so much so that the bun as soaked after a few minutes from the meat juice! The fries that come with the burger was also extremely good, crunchy and crispy without being overcooked. Would definitely recommend Silver Spurs — they are a bit pricey, but you get a really good burger here. Reviewed by The London Insider on his travels

My friend suggested this place and I liked it. I ordered a wheat wrap with roasted tomato, egg, and other ingredients I can’t remember. but what I do remember is that it was good. even the leftovers I ate later that day. Service was quick and friendly. I suggest this place to those who are on a budget as the prices are reasonable for NYC.
