I will be dreaming of the green tea lava cake for a very long time. I hope Spot expands outside of New York, particularly comes to the West Coast where I have no doubt it’s Asian fusion desserts will be met with open arms.

Its difficult to find at first but once you step in, it automatically has a huge impact. its almost like a little market place of just small shops with everything from dinner to dessert. Ramen, curry rice, etc. To actually reach Spot you have to walk up the stairs to the last floor. The food i found were surprisingly small, i guess i expected more for the price. I order a green tea lava cake, it was so delicious and worth the price. i wasnt left hungry afterwards. The Side green tea ice cream was really nice in flavor in the middle of a light and heavy feel. but it complimented the heavy lava cake so well. The whole dish has a great presentation. This place is really good but the journey there makes it better. I cant wait to try out the other shops.

Definitely had to stop by after seeing those cool videos of the harvest dessert and the green tea lava cake. As a dessert fanatic and someone who always looks at the dessert menu before the actual menu, places with cool desserts are definitely a go to for me. This particular one is not rated as high as their other chain, but it was closer to me than the other ones. I had to order the green tea lava cake, although the harvest looked pretty cool. Definitely on the pricier side of desserts, but I thought it was worth. The chocolate lava cake melted in my mouth and was warm on the inside. The ice cream was pretty good and complemented the cake pretty well. If I had gone back I would’ve liked to try their harvest dessert, which I thought was a really unique take on desserts. The chocolate lava cake plate was definitely licked clean, and I could have had about 10 more. Very chocolatey and decadent, and a must try if you are a chocolate lover such as myself!

Who doesn’t love creative, sophisticated Asian dessert? Highly recommend the Chocolate Green Tea Lava Cake — paired with the milk tea it’s heaven on earth.

This place was very hard to find… we first started off in the elevators! We tried to go to the second floor, but the elevators wouldn’t let us press the second floor. Not only that we entered through a busy club to use their sketchy stairs, only to take us to locked doors. Finally we found the«food court» that had this venue. We orders the 3 tapas for two people and still found it hard to choose the menu items because we just couldn’t decide! –Harvest: I got this because I kept seeing pictures of it and how cute it was. It wasn’t the most mouth watering item, but definitely cute for pics. –Green tea lava cake: the cake was nice and warm! I’m not a huge green tea person but it was definitely enjoyable. –French toast: I honestly only liked the condensed milk ice cream on this plate. The French toast was too crunchy and just too plain. It was just sugary crunchy bread. I’m glad I got to try this venue out. Their desserts were presented beautifully but the prices were high for some of the items.

I grabbed their 3 desserts for about $ 25. I ordered: –The Harvest This was a pretty cute and creative dessert. A raspberry cheesecake in a pot with Oreo crumbles on top to replicate soil. There was a cute cup of milk tea you could pour over it to «water it». It was presented beautifully, with raspberry foam and sherbet. Taste wise it was pretty good. I personally love cheesecake and raspberry so it hit off well with me. Delicious! I definitely recommend it because it’s a cute dessert to get and it is super tasty. It is also very light and not too sweet. 4⁄5 stars –Coconut Monkey bread This dessert was so aesthetically pleasing and looked so good. Coconut monkey bread on a cute wooden tray with a skillet, topped with coconut ice cream and glaze. Sounds delicious right? Taste wise it was okay. It was good but it was a bit too much for my liking. There were also chunks of coconut in the monkey bread as well as in the ice cream. It was soooo much coconut that I was getting sick of it. First bite is wow but after getting into it I was like okay. If you are a fan of really sweet things and coconuts I would recommend this to you. For me, not so much. I give it a 3⁄5 stars. –Chocolate Forest This won an award in 2014 so I was definitely intrigued to try it out. Displayed on the menu it made it seem like it came with macarons but instead we got small macaron shells. Okay. It was a very beautiful dessert as there were shreds of pistachio cake and pistachio ice cream on a green square. It had flakes of pistachio on it or something but it looked very fluffy. Inside was a very thick chocolate ganache. Taste wise this was probably my least favorite of them all. The macaron shells were crunchy and powdery, it tasted like tums or something. Already a turn off. The cake had so much chocolate that I couldn’t finish it. Mixing it with the pistachio cake and ice cream it was good, however the ratio was uneven so there was a lot more chocolate. The chocolate was a bit too much on its own, so if you aren’t into heavy desserts I would not recommend this to you. 2⁄5 stars.

I’ve seen pictures of spot desserts on my friends Facebook and snapchats and I thought, maybe I should give it a try. I walked into the food court with really high hopes of the dessert, but I was wrong. My friend and I ordered 2 desserts, she got the golden toast and I picked the chocolate forest. The total for them was around 21 something. After 5 minutes, we got our food and it looked appealing, however, my mouth was screaming for water. The chocolate mousse was really sweet and the green tea ice cream didn’t help at all. Every bite of the chocolate mousse was so sweet that my stomach started hurting(if you know how I feel). When you thought the whole dessert was just the mousse, chocolate syrup comes out from the middle. The price of the dessert was totally not worth it, 9.75 before tax for something that caused my stomach to feel nauseous. I don’t think I will even come back for desserts since it’s overpriced.

After Korean BBQ, of course we got room for dessert. We stopped at Grace Street but it was super packed and couldn’t find a table for the 5 of us so we walked back to the Food Gallery. Thank god the seating area was emptied for Spot Dessert Bar. Ben L. was nice to grab some menus for us so we can see what’s good here. Cynthia D. pointed out that we should order 3 Tapas which is cheaper than ordering our individual one at like 10 bucks. Since I am one of a kind with so many food allergies, we narrowed to Chocolate Green Tea Lava Cake(both Cynthia Z. and Gerardo A. wanted to try it), Golden Toast(Ben L.‘s pick) and I ended up choosing Yuzu Eskimo since I can eat pumpkin anytime along with a cup of Tiramisu. Ben L. went to place the order and ask about my food allergies and thank god it was safe for me to savor these delicate and delicious desserts. After all the tasting of the desserts, my favorite will be the Yuzu Eskimo because it sure was refreshingly yummy man and I popped my Yuzu cherry LOL

I’ve been wanting to try out Spot ever since I laid eyes on pictures of their attractive desserts on Unilocal. So when my friends decided to stop by the food gallery to eat since it was raining like crazy outside, I used this as an opportunity to try out the famous Green tea lava cake here. I liked the blend of the chocolate and the green tea lava inside the cake. The cake itself was moist on the inside but crispy on the outside, just the way I like it. The little chocolate pebbles and matcha powder on top added a nice crunch to the cake. The cold green tea ice cream complimented the warm lava cake very well. I didn’t like the cookie on top of the ice cream though because it tasted like nothing. Pretty good tasting dessert, so why 2 stars? Because it ended up costing me $ 10+ which I find absolutely ridiculous for such a small cake. I know the craftsmanship of the dessert is worth a lot in itself but still…$ 10 is insane… There are other desserts here that I wanted to try out but I feel like if I come back, my wallet is going to kill me lol. Sorry Spot, but I probably won’t be back.

We love this place for all its creativity and taste. Even though one might think the desserts are small for the price, you’ll definitely be satisfied especially because of all the playful elements of each dish. They have a pretty good deal where you get 3 desserts for $ 24 but otherwise, each dish is roughly $ 10. I highly recommend the green tea lava cake as the cake is moist and you get an abundance of flowing green lava. There is also the perfect amount of vanilla ice cream on the side so that each bite of hot cake can be paired with something cold and creamy. I also love the honey toast which also comes with a generous scoop of ice cream. A general theme of all Spot’s desserts is that the texture combinations are all interesting and complex. The one dessert that I think needed improvement(though very creative) was the flower pot one because I felt it was too much like eating spoonfuls of icing. Even a ice cream or light chocolate cake layer in the pot would make it better. I look forward to more creative and tasty desserts!

I LOVED the idea of dessert tapas but man if you go here, forget about eating dinner. My favorite dessert was their signature lava cake with matcha. OMG yum. It was just so nice. We also got the yuzu ice cream bar thing — this was good but it got too heavy and creamy. The last dessert we got as part of our«tapas» was the one that looked like a potted plant. This was the most disappointing as it was just layers of cream and fruit. The location isn’t so great(in a extremely busy food hall), but there’s loads of seats.

The fifth star is missing from this review because of the location and the lack of ambiance, unlike it’s original location at St. Mark’s. Everything else is A-OK as the case displays mouthwatering desserts and the menu is seasonal, which keeps everything fun. I love desserts and love them even more when they are plated creatively. This spot really knows how to make what I’d call edible art and is on par with places that claim to use molecular gastronomy. Yes… that interests me too! They offer beautifully crafted dessert tapas(sweet and savory too), beverages(bubble tea, latte, coffee, chocolate), cakes, cupcakes, macarons, ice cream, and some more. I love their Vietnamese Coffee Cupcake, Green Tearamisu, Green Tea Lava Cake, The Harvest, Golden Toast, and Mango Soufflé. There are so many more tapas I’d like to try… So if you love desserts this is the SPOT! Don’t forget that you can order 3+ dessert tapas to share amongst friends if you are looking for a better deal. Otherwise, you’ll be spending about ten bucks a pop.

This location is an extension to the original Spot in East Village. Located in a food court in Koreatown, the venue is not as nice as the original but they still carry the classics that the original boasts. The selection is also not as robust as East Village but they carry their headliners, like the molten green lava cake, the harvest, etc. You order and pick up from the counter and its self service where you clean up your tray after finishing. This model works perfectly for dessert but if you’re looking for a more polished experience, I’d stick to East Village. Still recommend if you’re closer to midtown and crave a sweet bite.

OMG. Thank you NY Unilocalers! The high quantity of ratings and rave of this creative dessert place swayed me into trying this place out. No regrets. Ok so if you’re not from this place and just visiting like myself, K-town can get a bit overwhelming when trying to find this particular dessert place. Take a deep breath and look for«Food Gallery 32». This building has 3 floors and Spot Dessert Bar is located on the 3rd floor. The building has many other tasty food places too, I wish I had the time and space in my tummy to try all of it! Haha. I would have given this place the full 5 stars, but the interior setting is more of a food court, where the seating is combined with other various restaurants. So it does get a bit crowded. Also, it was a bit steamy in here. Although it has awesome dessert, I don’t think this is a romantic setting, maybe a hangout with your buddies. Also, don’t forget to bring a bottle of water, I didn’t see a place where they offered free water cause with all this sugary goodness, it is inevitable that you’ll overload on their sweetness. :) We tried their popular«Green tea lava cake», «Harvest» dessert, along with peach black tea bobba tea. AHHH-MAZING. I seriously wanted to ask them to move to El Paso, it was that good. Maybe cause I’m deprived of sweets, but it was a great change of approach to dessert. Presentation is simple and elegant. A bit pricey, but you will not be dissapointed.

I’ve been to the other location in the LES, and this one is just as fun. It’s upstairs in the food plaza with plenty of seating in the food court area. It’s not as fancy as the other location, but it does the job. There are the same 9 items on the menu that you can try, and sample with the the combos for discounted prices. This time, I decided to try the Coconut monkeybread, which is vegan. It was quite good, tasting a bit like churros on the bottom with a light coconut flavored ice cream on top. My friend had the nutella hot chocolate, which she loved. I tried the Thai hot tea, which is made like a delicious latte. I wished the portions were larger, but I did get a small, which is my fault. A great place to be on a cold New York evening!

I’ve been here about 2 times, but I’ve actually been at the St. Marks location more. I love their lava cake, green tea box, and their toast. This time I decided to try their new desserts like the forest dessert with pistachio ice cream and the Yuzu cake. I personally didn’t enjoy the pistastio forest cake that much, but the yuzu cake is pretty decent. It has a nice zing to it. I’d always recommend the Thai tea here since it’s pretty good. It’s not too sweet and just taste great

Absolutely wonderful service here even though the restaurant is small and we were a big group of 8. They kept us informed at all times and even though we waited for almost 30 minutes it wasn’t that bad at all. The desserts– hmmm, creative but not our favorite. Nothing really stood out to be honest. I think you go here to enjoy the creativity and not so much to sample the best desserts you’ve ever had.

The signature green tea lava cake has a beautiful presentation as well as delicate taste. The staff is also nice. What’s lacking for this location might be the«aroma» there for a dessert bar — food gallery 32 maybe not a perfectly romantic place for dating. But it’s warm enough to let people enjoy some good frozen treats and spend some time people watching. I like the place and would like to go back to try the matcha tiramisu next time.

Spot never disappoints. This particular Spot is located on the second floor of a food court setting. Although it is almost always packed in the evenings, there are generally still many seatings available, plus turnover can be quite fast. It can take a little time for your order to be ready but it is worth it. Not only is the presentation stunning, but the dessert is absolutely delicious. Oh, and they have loyalty cards! My favorite three dessert tapas are in this order: 1) The Harvest 2) Golden Toast 3) Kabocha Brûlée Cake Many of my friends and myself agree that the Yuzu Eskimo is our least favorite of all the ones we’ve tried… just a little tip.
