Bad service and it was expensive. I’m not surprised this place is closed.

Not surprised this place is being reported closed. Great food. Actually the two stars are for the food only. I’d give it 4 if it was only about the food… That being said, last time I was there it took almost 2 hours for dinner… Not because we wanted to stay but because the service was sooooo sloooooow. Friendly enough but wow, no body seemed to care, like customers were a nuisance. Took forever to get water. Only wanted to go back because it was the site of our first date. Joked around if it was still open… Guess we spoke too soon.

Terrible, terrible server who never even brought us menus– the hostess ended up getting some for us. We had everyone from the hostess to a busboy serving us, but the waiter only came at the end to collect his tip. Food is mediocre, at best. Had their spring rolls and some sweet and sour chicken type dish, but neither I or my dining partner were very impressed. Will not be returning.

A good sit-down place for thai food. A little expensive for the quantity but it’s good for dates.

My wife bought a deal for this restaurant on Groupon. I am giving this place 4 stars because their food was very good. That was their redeeming factor. The appetizers I recommend are the Roti Canai and Chicken Satay. The Roti Canai especially was very yummy! The soup I highly recommend is Malaysian Curry Laksa Soup. The Red Pepper chicken is one of their best entrees. I would not recommend the Thai Style Red Snapper because it was sweet when its not suppose to be. However, the service was poor. The waiter was not smiling and seemed to give us some kind of attitude. He brought out the appetizers before the drinks! He told me that he «needed time to make the drinks». Whenever we needed something, he was not visible. I even had to wait a while just to get my check. I would love to buy this deal on a Groupon again and I certainly do not mind eating here again.

Would like to give 3.5 stars. but think Sriracha deserves the round up. Came here for dinner for the first time since moving down the street almost a year ago haha mixed reviews actually kept me away! I did enjoy the happy hour here a few months back — deals are great, sangria was seriously delicious. Would definitely stop here again for happy hour, both experiences here have proved that the drinks are really well made and yummy. They have a unique craft beer selection, but smaller than I expected after reading previous reviews. Really like the ambiance. Vibe is casual yet dark and romantic in my opinion, good for groups or a date night. For dinner I was with my boyfriend and another couple. That night there was a beer special for $ 2! I jumped on that even though it was a dark lager(usually not a fan, but it wasn’t bad). My friend got a mango martini that was amazing(see, good drinks!) We started with the calamari and the crab rangoons. Calamari was well done, came with a spicy mayo type sauce. Pretty comparable to all the good calamari I’ve had in my life. The crab rangoons were okay, the wonton was done perfectly, but they were pretty small and not filled with much of the so-so tasting cream cheese/crab mixture. I’ve definitely gotten better/bigger crab rangoons from regular chinese take out places. Pineapple fried rice, red curry fried rice with beef & the saigon beef cubes were ordered by my company. All were satisfied, no complaints. Had a taste of my boyfriends red curry rice with beef and had good flavor. I ordered the curry soup and I loved it! Nice coconut and curry flavor, noodles were delicious and the shrimp/chicken/egg all were very tasty. Had a nice kick that made my mouth tingle. I would order this again and recommend it to anyone! The service was lacking at some points… waitress was nice enough but didn’t check on us often, which was annoying when we needed her. We spied her having drinks at the bar while we were trying to get her attention for some soy sauce. All in all this was a pretty good experience and I would like to come back to try some of the other menu items! For 3, $ 2 beers, a martini, 2 bottled beers, 2 apps and 4 entrees, the bill was $ 108 before tip.

Absolutely fantastic! My wife and I just found the place while walking to the Metropolitan Museum. The place looked good from the outside, so we went in for lunch. WOW, WHAT A FIND! Booths were very comfortable and private, due to the interior design, and the lunch menu was wonderful. For less than the price of a bad meal at a diner, we had a wonderful meal that was like a romantic date night! The waiter was very friendly and set a wonderful atmosphere. The soup delicate and dumplings were handmade. Tofu Pad Thai was excellent, and the shrimp in a different pat thai were very large. Coconut custard dessert was delicate and refined. Best lunch for quality and value in New York!

Let’s begin with the food, it’s mediocre. Not bad but certainly not very good either. Also the good is not worth the price. Now the beer however, the beer during happy hour is super cheap an the selection is solid The staff is also lovely and the ambience is cheap

I came here for dinner with my girlfriend last weekend because we live a stone’s throw away, and figured we should try some Asian fusion. My thoughts on Sriracha are… Eh, it’s okay. The setting is fine for a modern Asian fusion-esque restaurant. Maybe it is because of the clientele, but I took issue with the fact that there were no chopsticks, only knives and forks, at the table. I understand what the UES demographic is, but come on. Cultural authenticity through food is one of the hallmarks of affluent urban Caucasians, so we want chopsticks when eating Asian cuisine! Anyway, the restaurant was somewhat busy, but certainly not packed. Still, after waiting about 15 minutes for someone to take our order, our drinks arrived 15 minutes after that. Drinks should have really arrived sooner than 30 minutes from the time we sat down. Other than that, the meal was fine. We had the the pork buns to start, which were fine. Certainly not bad, but I’ve had better. I had the Pad See Ew, and Lily ordered the Thai Drunken Noodles. Both were fine, and the portions were large, which was good. Again, both of us have had better. I would not go back for dinner, but I have seen they advertise a pretty good happy hour special for drinks and tapas. Maybe I will try that at some point down the road.

Happy Hour everyday from 5−8pm including the dining area, ie. not just the bar. $ 5 for 2 Pork buns were pretty good though a bit on the fatty side, and drinks were tropical and on the light side. For $ 6 a glass I really can’t complain. On the entrée the mee goreng is pretty good. Portion was large and they were pretty generous with the amount of shrimp. Being from Indonesia I must say this isn’t authentic at all :(I wonder how the nasi goreng would be. Husband had the Vietnamese Pork Chop. Massive portion and delicious. Would come back for Happy Hour drinks and snacks.

The one star is for the earnest service. The Professor has a very low threshold for good food, often finding the silver lining in a mediocre-at-best meal. But the Professor has met his match at Sriracha, which coincidentally is placed on every table so that one may place in eyes to forget what one might have seen and /or drink copiously to rid the palate of uninspiring, and YES, bland food, that’s not inexpensive. That could be construed as somewhat harsh, no?. I’m sure the well-meaning chef and their staff simply forgot to reorder anything that rhymes with schmices. Or schmalt. The Professor ordered the Phở, which honestly elevated Lipton Cup-A-Soup to Michelin star status. Really, the blandest broth ever tasted. It’s like someone took a yellow Crayola and dipped it in some dish water. I mean, even by accident Phở should have some taste to it, no? There was the Roti appetizer too which made oil-soaked rags a delicacy in comparison. The Professor’s powers of deduction were sorely lacking that night, since in retrospect a Thursday evening should have had more than a smattering of people«dining» inside. Alas, the scientific method needs no attempt at replication here. The food is really quite terrible, but thankfully I wasn’t truly poisoned. See, the Professor always finds a silver lining.

This is one of the few authentic delicious Asian food places at the UES. I saw some reviews here complaining the«bland» taste here. Well, the food here might not be as salty, spicy or greasy as some people prefer, but make no mistake, it’s full of flavors. They come as a rich taste experience with some interesting subtlety. If you are a foody like me, i am sure you will enjoy your time here as I did. I tried most of their small plates and chef specials, and they are all impressive. The service here is also warm and welcoming.

This little restaurant area seems to be cursed; in the past three years, I can think of three other restaurants that have been there. Goodness knows I’m having a hard time remembering their names, but there was a Mexican restaurant, an Australian restaurant, and another regular ol’ American restaurant. Let’s see if Sriracha’s somewhat unique mix of Asian tapas and craft beer will break the curse of this location! The beau and I needed a quick bite to eat before heading to a party in Brooklyn, so we stopped here hoping to get something, our hope of being in and out in about 30 — 40 minutes. There was no wait on a Friday evening at 7 p.m. and the place was about half full, so we lucked out with a quick seat. Service was friendly, but damn was it slow! We ordered within five minutes, but our food took about 30 minutes to arrive. We only ordered an order of pork belly rolls and some chicken satay with a side of jasmine rice; it must have been really busy in the kitchen with take-out orders or something like that. The chicken satay was passable. It’s not the best I’ve ever had, but definitely not horrible. I liked the peanut sauce, as it had chunks of peanuts in it instead of it being simply smooth. The pork belly buns really hit the spot, however, and I’d definitely recommend getting those. The bun was soft and indulgently doughy, and the pork belly, while not melt — in — your — mouth tender, was tender enough and extremely flavorful. A thick and fresh slice of cucumber in each roll along with a slathering of their special aioli really gave it a lovely flavor, not dissimilar to a banh mi. Delicious! The price was right for a meal of just appetizers, the food filled us up, but the service was slow, albeit friendly. That being said… if time is of the essence, this might not be your first choice for a quick meal. We were there for more than an hour, most of the time being spent waiting for our food and waiting for our check to be settled. Still, if time wasn’t an issue, I’d love to come back and try their attractive Happy Hour drink and tapas specials.

Wandering around on a Sunday afternoon post picnic for some happy hour deals. As we were walking, we noticed the signs outside advertising $ 1 oysters and thought the name of the restaurant was cute so we ventured in. It was a bit unsettling because it was so empty except for a few patrons at the bar area and one other table. However, it started getting busy around 7 pm. We decided to try out some of their happy hour specials and a dozen oysters. The drinks were innovative and some safer options for those who do not like to be to bold. The tapas were delicious and flavorful. The pork belly was to die for. My only complaint was that they only served it with a cucumber and none of the traditional pickled veggies. None the less, it was melt in your mouth tasty. The crab rangoon was made with REAL lump crab!!! I have never had crab rangoon with real lump crab. Noms. The spicy slider was actually served with the pickled veggies which was a little weird, but it worked. A very nice fusion. I’m no oyster connoisseur, so oysters are oysters to me. $ 1 oysters FTW. The service was wonderful. Our waiter would always come back to see if we needed anything else without being overbearing. Overall, this was a great restaurant to stumble into.

Helpful tip: Stick with the appetizers and pretend you’re at a tapas place. I was very excited to try this new place on the UES, as the menu looked promising. The appetizers were decent. Flavorful, but hit or miss. Unfortunately, the entrees were very bland, especially for a restaurant embracing cuisines known for spices and bold flavors. Service was pretty bad, maybe because there were new hires. We got a water refill every 5 minutes, without fail, but could not place orders for 15 – 20 minutes at a time. One waiter served the entire restaurant.

OHPRAISETHELORDSBUNSONTHEUPPEREASTSIDE!!! I’ve spent the past few years obsessing over pork buns, but I have yet to find a viable option for take-out or otherwise besides the overprice, over-hyped Momofuku. These BUNS stack up! Extremely flavorful, fatty(in a good way), and perfectly dressed. $ 8.00 for two decent sized pieces is fair, although if they want to win my heart for eternity they can cut that cost back a buck or two. As for the rest of our meal, unfortunately it was nothing crazy special. The best dish otherwise was the appetizer spare ribs. I was not thrilled with my pad Thai nor was my friend who ordered the same. Another had a Malaysian noodle dish… after sampling it I can’t believe they specialize in this cuisine, it was practically flavorless! I’ve rarely eaten Malaysian food so I would need to take back my Malaysian compadre to see if it passes his test of authenticity! The service was slow, and the waiter was a bit confused but overall it didn’t deter from the dining experience. After all, the atmosphere is fantastic! It seems like Sriracha is a new reliable place for appetizers, drinks, and a relaxed but trendy environment. I’d wait for them to get the kinks out before expecting too much from the service or entrees. And I can never give less than 4 stars for solid belly buns…

I dont know what all these other Unilocalers are talking about. Only one other guy was right. This isnt a thai restaurant even though the name is sriracha. And the owner isnt a woman. I enjoyed this place especially considering they are still new and they do have kinks to work out. Obviously if you go when they first open the food will be delivered slow. One person said the roti was greasy. Hello you need to fry it in oil. Thats the only way to make it. Things I ordered: roti canai– the roti is standard. the curry sauce was really good. And they gave a lot of potatoes and chicken. Pork belly buns– very tender and good except i would like more of that sauce they serve it with. make sure to ask for more of that! mussel pancake(hoy tohd) — very good however i prefer it more crispier. but thats just my preference. pad thai– very good drunken noodles– also very good except i would have wanted it to be more spicer vietnamese pork chops — decent. i’ve had better. short rib sliders– good. i would have wanted the bread to be more crispier. overall i had a good experience here and i would definitely go back. the décor is cute and the staff are friendly! oh dont forget to try the chili infused vodka that they make!
