I had a one night stand. My partner was a very expensive banana milkshake from here. I think it was something ridiculous like $ 8. It was a pretty bad shake. I could tell that they used brown bananas inside, over-ripe, which made it too syrupy and not banana-y enough. The service wasn’t very good either, to be honest. They seemed very indifferent to the custom. If they charged $ 4 for this boring shake, I’d give a 3 to support a family business. If they charged $ 6, then it would be a 2 for being overpriced. However if you combine the fact that it’s closer to $ 10, with the fact that it’s so overrated(«best shake in NYC», okay then), I have to give it a 1. I’ll add one star because they closed, and I hate to see anyone close. I was hoping to come back here someday and try a burger to see if I could raise my rating based on that. I really did not like the shakes at all, nor the prices. Garland said: People need to understand that expensive and bad milkshakes are not something people will Stand4.

It’s been a awhile but Stand seems to have changed owners or managers or chefs or something because the last time I ate here, everything pretty much sucked. Service was meh, like they didn’t care for our business. Burgers, what the hell, they used to be good and spot on. No homemade ketchup! Boo.

This place is what I still think about. I wished they would open up somewhere preferably in Queens. I still think about their toasted marshmallow milkshake and Nutella milkshake. They were my favorite and I have photos on Facebook and instagram to remind me each time I miss this place. Please come back. I miss you very much… actually, I miss the milkshakes. The burgers were good too, but I crave their milkshakes more.

Despite it being a good year or so, it’s still somewhat crazy Stand4 is closed. When owner Jonathan Morr erected this burger joint years ago, I’ve been one of their most dedicated customers. It’s worked perfectly in a pinch from late night work dinners to random dates to solo burger worship. It was comfort food with reasonable prices, something everyone could appreciate. Burgers were certainly the name of the game. Many of the ones I had here were savory, juicy, and impressively stacked. One of my faves, the breakfast burger, included nicely melted cheddar, a crispy piece of applewood smoked bacon, topped off by a perfectly fried egg. The only thing missing was a hashbrown patty, but I suppose that’s what the shoestring fries are for. Even the bold burger was just as impressive, double patties threaded with all sorts of heart attack inducing goodness. If the turkey burgers, quinoa veggie alternatives, and crab patties could also be included in the tasty discussion, they really could do it all. Their legendary milkshakes delighted the tastebuds of many and the fried pickles were also quite popular. While I was never a huge fan of the wings, many of my dining companions would be all for it. The mac and cheese was mildly pedestrian compared to the rest, but the gooey /cheesy ratio was still a thumbs up. I would normally be all for hoping Stand4 makes a comeback somewhere else, but their website would indicate they’re closed for good. In its place, is a successful dermatology office( ). Great skin trumps a great burger any day, but if you’re still looking for something similar, a more expensive but certainly delicious alternative is Umami Burger( ).

Pros: They have Original Sin hard cider Friendly waitress the first time I came here Buffalo beef burger — not messy, sweet BBQ-y and not at all buffalo-y(more of a con really) Tasty sweet potato fries that comes with sweet honey mustard, it’s not necessary to dip in, but very tasty and addicting Shakes to stay or to go! You can get a regular shake or a spiked shake! Cons: Lazy staff during the second visit, it took forever to get seated and the place wasn’t busy Tons of mosquitoes WTF. The first time I figured ok their doors were open… I’ll let it go. The second time the doors were shut and the AC was on and I still got bit alive! So gross. I had 8 mosquito bites on my legs in the 45 minutes(if that) while we were there. It was so bad that I had to get my shake to go just to get out of there! The fries and shakes are tasty — get the toasted marshmallow milkshake if you decide to go — but I will not be subjecting myself to their mosquito infested establishment again.

SOSAD to hear this place closed. I was visiting NYC last summer and made not one but TWO trips over the course of a week just to devour their toasted marshmallow milkshakes. I am planning another trip to NYC in the fall and can’t believe they won’t be there. Now what? SADFACE!

Shakes were awesome if a little overpriced(at least the small size) Sweet potato fries were pretty good Burgers, which were hyped beyond belief, were garbage. I had to ask half way through if they mistakenly gave me the veggie burger, it was that bland. Service was ok, if a little aloof. Once again, 5 Guys has slain another more expensive competitor.

I spoke too soon when I gave this place 4 stars. I recently went back and sat at the bar. The bartender took forever to take my order even though there wasn’t really anyone else there. I guess she was too busy chatting with her friends. I ordered a burger with bacon and white cheddar with a side of sea salt fries. The burger was absolutely terrible. I’m not one to not finish a small burger, but this time I had to leave it behind. It just wasn’t worth it. The«sea salt» fries had no salt on them whatsoever. However, they still serve a killer marshmallow milkshake. I slurped that up until there was nothing left.

This was on our list of must go to’s when we came to New York. Strictly for the toasted marshmallow shake. And the shake was awesome. I waited years to try this shake. I love shakes. I love marshmallows and I love toasted marshmallows. So this shake hit the spot — and it tasted so yummy! So worth it! That being said, it was the only thing worth it when we came here. We ordered sliders and fries and there was nothing special at all about them. Nothing. I have had way better. The worst part about everything is the service was TERRIBLE. I won’t lie — If I am ever back in New York City, I won’t come back here. Even for the toasted marshmallow shake.

This place is decent. I came here and got the CYOB, where you get to customize your own burger. You are presented with bun options, patty options, and toppings options. For the bun I selected a whole wheat bun. For the patty, turkey. And finally for the toppings I chose cheddar cheese, avocado, and a fried egg. The whole wheat bun was soft, fluffy, and slightly sweet. The turkey patty was not very good. It was kind of tough, though I admit it was moist. However, the moistness seemed to be more grease to me. While it was seasoned, the seasonings used were just bizarre resulting in an odd tasting patty. I ended up taking out the patty and eating the toppings with the bun. I felt there could have been more avocado, and the fried egg was pretty standard. The cheddar cheese was just a flat out disappointment, it was hardly there and had absolutely no sharpness. None, not at all, completely flavorless. Oh yes, and the burgers come with two fried pickles. First of all, they were cold. Upon biting into the fried pickle, the pickle just comes out and you are left with a gooey cheese in the center of a hollow shell. The batter is like the kind used for fried oreos or corn dogs, puffy and pretty bland. The pickles are just regular supermarket round sliced pickles, made soggy from the frying. The cheese, don’t get me started on the cheese. That cheese was like that nasty American cheese, yuck. The fries were also cold as well, and most of them were soggy. I also ordered a mini Pumpkin Pie Milkshake. I felt that it was good, but not great. I loved the thickness and the creaminess of the shake, however the crumb bits were kind off-putting. While, I admit that they were supposed to add textural depth I found the crumbs just unnecessary. The shake itself had a nice cinnamon nutmeg spice flavor, and you could taste the pumpkin too. However, this is not something I would order again. Overall, I left feeling disappointed and unsatisfied. I don’t think I will be returning any time soon.

The burgers here are bland. I had to use a LOT of ketchup in order to be able to finish my burger. After finishing it, I kinda regretted doing so because I felt terrible. The burger was just so oily. If you plan on ordering fries, get the sweet potato fries instead of the regular fries, Positives: They let us sit in here to chit-chat for almost over an hour after we paid.

Every since I came here for the first time five years ago I keep coming back for the same reason. The toasted marshmallow milkshake, I cant even tell you it tastes like marshmallow at all, just liquid sugar. Bar in the restaurant and nicely placed near union sq. Give it a try, burger and shake classic.

First things first. That toasted marshmallow milkshake was actually fantastic. Milk, ice cream and genuine toasted marshmallow flavor? Can’t be bad. However, this milkshake, the excellent service, and the creepily soft squeeze-mayo bottles are pretty much the only reasons I plan on coming back. This doesn’t say much about a burger joint, unfortunately. The menu is full of tasty-sounding treats of the burger variety. I opted for the Bourbon St. Burger, a beef patty topped with mozzarella, jalapenos, lettuce, tomato and a Maker’s Mark Smoked BBQ sauce. Doesn’t that sound delicious? It really wasn’t. Not only was the burger drastically overcooked(gray and dry are not good looks on beef), but it was small and completely overwhelmed by an equally dry, oversized sesame bun. The sad, limp lettuce and colorless tomato didn’t help the situation. This sort of situation would be acceptable if this was a fast food joint, and this burger was around $ 8 with fries, but it wasn’t. It was $ 14, without. A $ 14 burger must be fat and juicy. That’s a law. And if it isn’t, it should be.

Like milk shakes and unique homemade soda pops? Then you’ll dig Stand4. Like a quality burger + pomme frites? Then you’ll definitely not dig Stand4. In a bit of a disappointing turn of events, the burgers I’d anticipated sinking my teeth into for the better part of of the spring ended up being a giant letdown. Small patty, flavorless Makers Mark infused BBQ sauce, cafeteria quality lettuce and tomatoes, and a hefty price tag to boot. Wamp, wamp. It was like finally getting those two hunks from Twilight in a room in just their birthday suits, only to find out they have the smooth loins of a Ken doll. Wait, what?! However, their toasted marshmallow milkshake is the stuff dreams and unicorn dander are made of. It literally tastes like a fireside s’mores session, and there hasn’t been a day since slurping that creamy indulgence that I haven’t considered heading back for a gluttonous midday snack. Certainly one of the most memorable milkshakes I’ve had outside of my favorite Neapolitan shake from In-N-Out. 60% of the time, I’ll return here solely for an ice cream paint job every time.

***THISREVIEWISOFTHETOASTEDMARSHMALLOWMILKSHAKE, SERVICE&ATMOSPHEREONLY*** Here’s what I have to say about the milkshake: «Gimme another one, please.» Here’s what I have to say about the service: «Dude was cool.» Here’s what I have to say about the atmosphere: «Couple to my left, solo older lady to my right, Papa was reading his newspaper just behind me, and a group of the young and single were toasting at the bar.» I want to try a burger next time because all these pictures are killing me now… making my mouth water.

Ive been coming here for a longggg time. I’ve had everything on the menu, and every shake they offer. I’ve been there through changed management, and watched the staff change. There were times I hated the place, and times I’ve loved it. I think they have it all figured out now. Some of the old management is back(thank GOD) and there making changes that are making it back to the way it was. AWESOME. Come here, Ask if Brandon is there, if he is, sit in his section, he is awesome. Get the toasted Marshmallow shake or the smores shake. Those are by far the best, though none of them are bad. Its just the other 2 are beyond outstanding. Other than the obvious burger(of which the breakfast burger is the best, or the bacon cheddar) the chili is REALLY good, the mac and cheese and the wings. If you dont like milkshakes, for dessert the brownie w/gelato is amazing. It is hard to not get both… but I have. If your a vegetarian, the veggie burger is pretty good. I only eat fish now, so I’d suggest the crabbie pattie(thats also really good). As for fries, do the sweet potato fries. it comes with a sauce thats pretty much heaven drinks– the rest stop is my fav, and they have alot of cool beer on tap. they ve got a full bar, but i like beer w/my burgers… oh and the homemade gingerale is crazy good. they peel fresh ginger and blend it w/lemon juice and dark & whtie simple syrup then add soda water… i wanna try this at home. it’s a good place for a date, to watch the game, or to come w/a group of friends before going out.

A huge spacious restaurant that specializes in burgers. Quite empty on a Saturday, the boyfriend and I came for lunch. The waitress was extremely helpful and nice. The food came pretty quick, I was glad our milkshakes came beforehand so we get to slurp it up a bit. The burgers were quite amazing, I had the Classic with Mozzarella cheese. The burger was huge, I was surprise that I can actually wrap my mouth around it(that’s what she said). The patty was a hefty amount. When you want a burger, a massive burger be sure to come to Stand4. I tried the Absolut Marshmallow shake and the Mint Cookies and Cream shake. The Marshmallow shake could’ve done without the alcohol but the boyfriend chose it, the Absolut pretty much cancels out the sweetness and gave it a bit of bitterness if you know what I mean. On the other hand, the Mint Cookies and Cream was pretty darn good. A regular cookies and cream shake with a hint of fresh mint. Very refreshing indeed. Oh, and I nearly forgot. We also had the B&B Pickles. I love pickles and fried pickles — hell yes! The honey dijon mustard that came with the fried pickles complimented the pickles perfectly. I could eat those babies all day long.

Stand4 is definitely one of the top burgers in the city. There are just way too many good burgers in Manhattan!!! I got a turkey burger and my husband got their Bold Burger. On top of that, we ordered a side of sweet potato fries and cheese and ham fries. Sounds like heart attack right? I have to say turkey burger was really juicy and the bun was toasted and delicious. It also came with fried pickles and that were tasty. My husband got the heart attack Bold burger which has a fried egg, bacon and sauteed onion on top of the beef patty. The sweet potato fries and ham and cheese fries were simply heaven. They are crispy and rich. I think 4 of us barely finished them with the big burgers we had. My husband also ordered a marshmallow shake and God it was so creamy and thick! Thanks to the Unilocal coupon I got, we got to sample all these food for a little price. I am definitely coming back to try other burgers and shakes.

I loved loved the Absolut toasted marshmallow shake here. It was a sip of heaven and had a good amount of Absolut vodka in there. I would come back here just for the shake We got an order of the bread and butter fried pickle. It was pretty good but not special. For burgers, we had the Breakfast burger and the salmon burger The breakfast burger was made with fried egg and bacon. I asked for medium rare, but it came out almost well done. I am no expert on burgers, but I do know this was definitely not a good burger. The flavor was blah and it was just dry and almost flavorless. The salmon burger was terrible and tasted hard, not fresh and funky. Perhaps it’s frozen salmon. DONOT get it The onion rings were good but WAY too greasy. Service was ok, place was like a sports bar. Come here for the milkshakes and skip the burgers

How can there ever be fries that tastes good even when they’ve gone cold? Well, Stand’s sweet potato fries have done it! Paired with that sweet mustard dip that’s even gotten a anti-mustardteer like me to dip dip away. My best friend: I thought you hate mustard? Me: *shrugs* *dips and shoves into mouth* My bestie had the toasted marshmallow shake, and the chocolate peanut butter cup. For those of you who can handle your sweets, it’s delish. I got just a regular root beer w/vanilla gelato float, and I gotta say — vanilla’s never tasted so good, mmm. We got the Bold burger and Bacon & Egg Cheese burger. At any other place, I’d ask for the pattie to be cooked a lvl raw-er than I actually want it, but not here, guys! If you want medium-well, it’s gonna come out medium-well O_O. Beef patties are juicy & well-seasoned, bacon is thick & crispy, everything just works together. They also fry their pickles, so it’s actually not wet & sour-ish. Definitely the kinda place that leaves ya wanting more. Tag a nice msg on their bathroom wall. And *warning* Bold burger is a tower! Proceed with caution… and enjoy!
