Average diner, average to good service, the medal could’ve been a bit better

I assumed, like most diners in New York, that the Starlite would offer good food for reasonable prices and have good diner ambiance. I was wrong about all of the above. The food was pretty bad as diner food goes, and the waiter was terrible. I am vegetarian, so I ordered a basic breakfast of 2 eggs over medium with home fries and toast. All seemed well and good until he brought out my food and there sitting on top of my eggs were two enormous greasy sausages which I did not order nor did I want. As a result of them sitting on top of my eggs, I couldn’t eat the eggs either, since they’d been tainted with the sausage grease. I called the waiter over and told him I hadn’t ordered the sausages and was vegetarian so now I would need a whole new plate of eggs. For a moment he insisted that I had ordered the sausages, before finally pulling out his order pad and noticing that I had indeed not. The food went back an a new plate arrived in a few minutes, with a sorry excuse for eggs over medium– the yolks were cooked completely through, and the eggs were extremely greasy and rubbery. Additionally, I overheard a gentleman sitting behind me order an egg white omelet, and heard the subsequent conversation when he too sent his order back because the omelet had been made with whole eggs and not egg whites as he requested. This place is a joke.
