Statue of Liberty

The statue of Liberty is a place I have always wanted to visit. I reached a point where I thought I would never had made it. but I did and I brought my wife and daughter along for the ride.
The process looked daunting but really wasn’t at the end of the day. With all of the security checks and long line I thought we would have been there for hours. We ended up doing the $ 18 walk around the base of the statue and the Ellis Island museum ticket.
It was suggested we do the trip where you just sail around the statue and Ellis island. but we can so far that it made more sense that we actually visit the statue.
The boats do the job in getting you there. I felt a bit like cattle but it’s completely doable and safe enough with a 1 year old in tow. you just need to stay on top of things and lock the wheels of your stroller.
The statue was gorgeous and I was in complete awe when I laid eyes on her.
If you are visiting NYC, this is a great stop with great views of the city. Do it.

Ist wohl eines der am meist fotografierten Objekte… und lohnt sich auch zu gehen. Wichtig ist vorher ein Ticket für die Überfahrt und den Eintritt in den Sockel der Statue zu reservieren. Wer mag kann auch noch ein Ticket für die Krone reservieren, aber man sieht nicht mehr, als ein bisschen weiter unten.
Bevor man auf’s Schiff darf muss man durch die Security wie halt so überall langsam in den USA aber dann geht es relativ zügig — und trotz Samstag hatte es nicht so viele Leute (ganz im Gegenteil wenn man im Sommer geht) auf den Schiffen am morgen früh — rechtzeitig aufstehen lohnt sich!
Und ich muss schon sagen, es ist schon sehr beeindruckend wenn man zuerst mit dem Schiff heranfährt und dann nachher unten steht!
Auch die Aussicht auf Lower Manhattan ist sehr cool — siehe Fotos ;-)

Quick ticketing and no line to get on ferry. Disappointed we didn’t get pedestal access but we didn’t buy in advance. Go before 10 am and crowds are not bad. Quick lap around liberty and take all the pics you want.
Tip — one of the binocular viewers on city side is working without adding money. Took turns with kids looking at city and up close Liberty for about 30 min.
Stayed on boat for Ellis island to shorten trip (kids not interested) and get back to city.

Vengo a tirar abajo este monumento. No por lo que represente, nada tengo en contra del monumento en sí. Pero como atracción, es malísima.
Es caro ir a Liberty Island, te llevan en un ferry incomodísimo a una islita en la que te morís de frío para ver un dedo gordo desde abajo. Eso si optás por ir sólo a la base, también podés subir al a corona: tenés que subir unas escaleras angostísimas con olor a humedad para ver el cielo a través de una ventana sucia. Y obviamente en el medio recorrer un museo aburridísimo sobre la historia de la estatua.
Y ENCIMA al ingresas TE OBLIGAN a dejar los bolsos Y TE COBRAN EL LOCKER. Por supuesto gorda justiciera me quejé con el de seguridad y me dijo «si, tenés razón, pero son órdenes de los encargados. No deberían cobrarlo, yo pienso como vos».
Realmente, no vale la pena ir hasta ahí, ni fotos lindas podés sacar. Lo que sí vale la pena es tomarte el ferry hasta Staten Island y sacar fotos de lejos, esa es la vista que vale.
La verdad, ni vayan. Disfruten de Staten Island y saquen lindas fotos desde ahí, la van a pasar mejor.

A definite Must See in any persons lifetime. The Statue has alway been on my to-​do list but I was blown away by how much feeling it took out of me. The ferry ride over to the island was incredible and a great opportunity to get some great pics of the city. This was a very unique, and beautiful experience, which I highly recommend you seek out.
There was a huge line to get onto the ferry however it did move very fast so that was no biggie. My only recommendation is for you to purchase your tickets in advance because there are vultures there selling over priced tickets. Some of them are even fake from what I hear so be careful. I had a great time but if i do wish I had looked in advance to purchase tickets to go up to the torch. I highly

Booked a tour online, pretty simple to do. We were staying in NJ, so we took fairy from the NJ side. Went through security, got on boat and cruised on over to miss Liberty. The Manhattan skyline is so beautiful. We arrived at the Liberty statue and it was magnificent to see! So beautiful !

My second time here, love to see this beautiful work of art and the NY skyline from the island. The new Freedom Tower is a site to behold, along with the Statue of Liberty!

If you haven’t seen it, you should, but besides that, the process and only way to visit this beautiful landmark can be somewhat bothersome. I don’t recommend getting tickets to the pedestal or crown. The line to get in will have you waiting for what I anticipate an hour or more!
I would get to Battery Park early enough to board your ferry. There is a TSA style security check before boarding which doesn’t always go so smoothly. Next, all the tourists gather at boarding like a herd of cows. This is pretty much the generalized tourist behavior when boarding and exiting the ferry. The majority don’t seem to have a conceptual understanding of personal space, and additionally, everyone seems to be in hurry! Once, you get to this majestic looking landmark, there is a gift shop with some cool souvenirs if you must. The food here is like typical burger, fries and hot dog fare. You can walk through here in about 15 – 20 minutes. It will take you longer if you try to get into the crown or pedestal though. It’s not worth the wait. Getting a photo of Lady Liberty is fairly simple. It might be challenging to take group photos with the constant stream of people walking around though.
The ferry comes every 20 minutes. So leaving and going back to Battery Park or moving on to Ellis Island is quite efficient. I would only do this again if I’m with someone who hasn’t seen this great national landmark, but the tourist atmosphere is most definitely not an experience I’d like to repeat.

Seeing Lady Liberty from afar is much more impressive than going up close to see it. My best picture is from the boat ride to it! Going inside gives you a great view of Manhattan, but of course, you can’t really see the statue if you’re inside it. There’s a nice little museum inside that shows information about how the statue was built, but other than that, it’s not very interesting. The statue itself was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. The audio guide provided along with the boat ride/​pedestal visit was all about how the statue was made as well, so it wasn’t very much aligned with my interests either. I would actually just suggest taking the free Staten Island ferry (but not getting off at Staten Island, just take the ferry back and forth) to get a good picture of the Statue, and that’s pretty much all that you need to do!

What an awe inspiring day and visit. The weather was perfect, we got on an earlier boat, but the place was PACKED!
I highly recommend picking up the audio tour & using it. You get an interesting perspective and hear tidbits about things you won’t read on any of the plaques.
The only bummer was that we didn’t buy tickets early enough & we could not go into the pedestal or the crown! I’ll remember to buy tickets earlier next time and we will be back…

This was easily my favourite part of New York
My initial thoughts were … It’s smaller than I expected
However … The ferry ride up to the statue with the backdrop of Manhattan just screamed «you’re in New York» to me
As countless people clambered around for selfies and photos I just stood in awe of the wonderful scenery
The island itself is clean and well looked after and there is a place to eat and drink
The audio tour guide was great and quite informative and it took our earphones so we didn’t have to worry about other peoples filthy ears lol
Getting on and off the ferry is a bit push and shove
Do not buy from ticket touts go get your tickets directly from them at he ferry if not online first

After 670 reviews, I’m pretty sure just about everything that one can think of or suggest can be found somewhere. I’ll keep my review simple and straightforward.
Tickets: Pay for your tickets in advance online. Pick up the actual tickets in Battery Park after payment is submitted. Get the ‘Platform’ because they are well worth visiting the platform inside of the statue and learning the detailed history about the Statue of Liberty. There was such a plethora of information on the statue ranging from the engineering, materials, politics, and history. Very helpful and worth the extra $ 3. If you want to climb, the Crowne and Platform tickets are the same price.
Audio Guide: The guide makes a difference in pointing out interesting facts that you may otherwise walk past. I originally thought it was only for non-​english speakers, but it actually is helpful for everyone. Additionally, bring a pair of headphones.
Park Tours: Stop by the park rangers office and get a tour. The day that we were visiting, no ranger was available. However, we are told that the tours run pretty regularly.
If you’re in the platform, stop by the Park Ranger desk inside. If you see Ranger Walker, be certain to say hello. He gives a great presentation about everything in life. Cool and unexpected bonus.

Another tourist trap in NY, you had to get a boat to get here and it is packed. There is not much to do here except taking pictures and looking at shops with overpriced stuffs and tacky logos.
Many of my friend actually go up but I was too tired and stay on the ground instead. The statue is huge though. Much bigger in person.

Whether you are a tourist visiting New York for the first time or a native New Yorker who’ve recently become interested in exploring your world-​class city, the Statue of Liberty should be at the top of the list. It’s not just a statue. You get the experience of exploring Battery Park, taking a ferry journey to the Statue with a voice over introduction. You land on Liberty Island, which you get to explore at your own pace. Take photos from the very base in the front as well as close up. I highly recommend you book a tour to the Crown. It will take some fore-​planning as tickets sell out about 2 months ahead of time, depending on the season. The latest time should be about 2pm for you to be able to do the Crown and Ellis island together. It’s all very cheap, like $ 20 or something. Just be aware that it’s not for people who are afraid of heights or are claustrophobic.
From the base, you can take the stairs or an elevator to the pedestal level. It’s fine to stop here, but if you have tickets to the Crown, you have to take a very narrow and steep spiral staircase to the top. Don’t worry. It’s very safe with a lot of handrails and plexiglass. But it’s still unnerving if you’re not used to it. The top if amazing. Inside the statue’s head, you can look outside at a view of the sea and New York. This is through the windows that make up Lady Liberty’s crown. You used to be able to go up the arm (100 years ago), but it has been closed. You can still see the ladder you climb to get there on your way down the main spiral staircase. I recommend coming here not in the dead of summer, as the head will be unpleasantly warm. You can see the temperature on a thermometer mounted in above the staircase.
The tour then takes you to Ellis Island, which will be another review. The only true negative of this trip is the nature of the security and boat loading process. You are packed into this warehouse, then hurried onto this ship as people are screaming at you to hurry up despite the fact that everyone is. You’ll see what I mean if you do this. You literally get the immigrant experience from the 1920s probably.

First time over in NYC and of course I had to visit Statue of Liberty, she is the lady of enlightment after all. Standing majestic on her own island, carrying the torch, she looks even more beautiful at night! She is seen from a distant, and when up close, you are easily drawn to her.
I didn’t get off onto the island as the queues for the ferry were huge, would have been standing for at least 4 hours before i got on to the ferry. So instead took a water taxi, which let us get up close and personal, also great photo moments. I was so excited that I finally got to go visit her, I’ve been seeing pictures all my life, but to physically go and use the emoji too (haha) was definitely worth my ⁷⁄₈ hour flight to NY!
I know for sure next time round, I will get the ferry and get off at liberty island, and even go inside!

A 52 year reunion took place in NYC.
We are here the first week of May with showers every day. Checked the
web site, and crown tickets sold out until late August, and pedestal tickets available only Wednesday this week. And steady rain was predicted that day.
630am Wednesday, the latest hourly forecast for NYC is cloudy but dry weather until about 1pm. I check the web site. The only pedestal tickets available for the day are for 9am, requiring getting on the ferry at 830am. I wake up the wife, telling her we are going to the Statue of Liberty (SOL) today. Sleeping beauty reacts with a yawn!
I order 2 senior (62+) pedestal tickets for $ 22 apiece at 7:03am. Non senior price tickets $ 25, with crown tickets $ 28. Didn’t check what child tickets go for, as I’m done with kids in my life!
An e-​mail verifies my order, instructions to arrive 1 hour before the 830am ferry, for security screening! Well its 703am! Pedestal tickets will be attached in a separate e-​mail, which may take up to 48 hours –WTH?!
I’m logged onto my e-​mail, waiting and waiting. At 7:18am the email with the tickets attached arrives. Hurrah for the National Park Service!
We walk 2 blocks to the subway at 57^th and 7^th, and catch the train to the South Ferry, half the length of Manhattan during rush hour. 32 minutes later we emerge at the Whitehall exit, right next to Battery Park.
We walk 3 blocks past Battery Park to the SOL ferry. Ticket line normally a mile long for those who buy in person, but not at 8am. I learn that up to 3000 pedestal tickets available daily, on an hourly appointment, first come first served, for in person purchases!
We skip the ticket purchase line, but wait in the security screen line. TSA like security check at the ferry for those with tickets –remove belts, all pocket contents, watch, coats, but keep shoes on Nobody wants to smell your socks! Full body scan. 8:15am the riff raff is still asleep, and there is no line for security. Come 2 hours later, and it will rival Space Mountain!
8:25am we are on the triple deck ferry, only 5% full with early bird risers like myself. Ferries run every half hour in the mornings from Battery Park to SOL.
It takes only minutes for the ferry to reach the SOL. If you have a non pedestal, non crown ticket you can’t go inside the SOL, and can’t walk inside the fort like walls surrounding SOL, nor visit the museum.
Ferry riders get a free audio tour of the Statue.
Pedestal and crown ticket holders go past the flag pole and into a building with a second security screening site –might as well not put my belt back on at the ferry building security check, except that my pants are too loose and would definitely fall down!
No food, liquids, backpacks or bags allowed in SOL, but lockers for rent.
We climb 19 stairs to the elevator. The elevator goes up 6 stories to the pedestal level. During crowded times, most people will take the stairs –all 215 of them, rather than wait behind hundreds of others for the elevator –which only holds some 20 folks at a time. Don’t like stairs, then you better hope the elevator isn’t out of order!
At the 6^th floor, we get to look up the robe of SOL, only scaffoldings and support beams, instead of a g-​string!
We walk out the door to the outside of the pedestal of the statue and are almost knocked over by the high winds. Hold onto your hats, as you are at the harbor entrance 60 feet above the ground. During showers, high winds will blow raindrops your face, stinging your skin!
360 view, including world trade center 2, the Brooklyn Bridge, Ellis Island, and the Verazanno Narrows bridge, which in 1962, was the longest suspension bridge in the world.
Crown ticket holders get to walk another 500+ stairs from the pedestal level to the crown level in the top of the head of the statue, for an in your face look at the torch.
Museum on bottom floor, showing how SOL was conceived, designed, constructed in France, disassembled and erected in NYC in 1886. Statue underwent extensive repairs in 1986, including rebuilding the torch, for its 100 birthday.

My previous visit to SOL was when my parents brought us 3 kids to the 1964 New York World’s Fair. 52 year reunion!
2 hours after arriving, we go on the ferry to Ellis Island, rebuilt from neglect in the 1960s. 14 million immigrants came here before being allowed to enter the USA from 1892 – 1954. I would have been among the 2% deported as undesirable, due to zany Unilocal reviews.
Another 2 hours, we call it a day and board a packed ferry for Battery Park. Sprinkles start, and the high winds blow the rain drops onto our face, forcing us off the roof deck. Last ferry leaves for NYC at 430pm. Don’t want to board the wrong ferry and end up SOL in Jersey!

SO perfect! As an tourist it’s number one you have must done in New York. It costs 18 $ to go there by ferry. You have plenty time to take enough pictures of it and of course of the skyline of New York. After visiting Lady Liberty your boat goes to Ellis Island. Museum of the people/​immigration. But it was very boring. Happy could leave fast. This museum was included by the 18 $

I remember one day, my professor asked us who had ever been to the Statue of Liberty, and only one person in the entire room raised his hand! Being that I am a New Yorker, born and raised in New York, I never found myself really making the time to visit these places that people from all over the world really would do anything to visit. Like come on… I am a train ride away, and I have never been up close to this beauty before!
Well, in all fairness, I tried to go to the Statue of Liberty before, but the tickets to have access inside were no longer available, so I just paid to have a water tour. This time, I bought tickets months (DO THE SAME), before because my brother moved away and he came to visit and said he wanted to go.
I really enjoyed it! Like my eyes had little hearts on them while I was looking at the Statue of Liberty; yes, like the emoji! HAHAHA! The security is crazyyyy! It takes time, but it is understanding! You go through security once before you enter Liberty Island, and then, again if you paid for having access to the pedestal and crown.

We purchased our Crown tickets ahead of time before departing from Battery Park so it wasn’t a hassle to pick-​up our tickets and go :) So yes, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND purchasing your tickets online instead of going all the way to Battery Park to find out that it is sold out. If you’re not taking my advice and it happens, I told you so: p
Only one aspect of the trip that was annoying, the level of security was worse than TSA at the airport: D However, we can all understand why. Though, I still admit it was a bit of a nuisance. Yet, I understand that the nuisance is a price for all of our safety :)
When it went it was unfortunately raining the entire time! However, the visit was still very enjoyable because the Park Rangers were all really nice! We met one in particular that was super nice because he found out we were from GA: D (I have a pic with him ^_​^) He even gave me a special sticker ;) Overall, we really enjoyed the visit and it was great learning things that we didn’t know about the Statue of Liberty. This is a must visit location if you’ve never been! :D

There is not much more to say about the Statue of Liberty that hasn’t been said already. We all know the history, the importance of her existence as a National Monument, and the awe that you feel standing at the base looking up.
Plan in advance, book early (three+ months in advance if you want access to the crown).
The Park Ranger staff were all friendly and made a noticeable effort to talk about the history of this monument and to make you feel welcome. The Park Ranger attending the elevator even had some jokes lined up. All in all, a ‘must visit’ piece of history and patriotism whether you are a ‘tourist’ or not.

I decided to toss my ego aside, and embrace being all things tourist. Hurricane Sandy kept us (my husband and I) from visiting previously as Liberty Island was damaged in the storm, and the attraction was closed for repairs.
When they reopened, and tickets for the tour became available, the crown tour sold out before I could purchase them. We did snag a pedestal view ticket, and selected an early morning tour.
Booking so far in advance you never know what type of weather you’ll get. Luckily, we were blessed that day. What started out as overcast quickly transitioned into blue skies. I think we were the second boat going to the island that early morning.
The boat ride was exciting! (We love boat rides). We were finally going to get up close and personal with Lady Liberty. I lined up at the exit door of the boat so I could be the first person off. As we edged closer to our destination, people started to crowd me out and cut in front of me. I had to be firm with a few older woman trying to nudge me out of position. Echuta!
We docked, disembarked, and found ourselves stunned by the sheer size and beauty of the statue. It literally brought me to tears.
We were in a hurry to get to the pedestal viewing area before the crowds came, so we made our way through the security check points (there are many) and took the stairs. I saw many people struggling on the way up. They do have an elevator but the lines were ridiculous. Once we reached the summit, we walked outside and were greeted with views of the NYC skyline and Eliis Island to name a few. The Freedom tower was almost complete! We took photos and after a brief respite made the trek back down.
The visitor center had some cool displays worth checking out. We could have spent hours there but we had other things planned for our day. We walked outside and wondered around a while, taking it all in, before we found a place to sit down. We met these young ladies from England, and swapped stories about our experiences. They told us that we weren’t missing much with the crown tour, which they’d done, as it was super crowded; and that they had just enough time for a photo to be taken and then were quickly ushered away.
As other reviewers have noted the employee are very gruff. They mean business. Follow the rules and take their attitude with a grain of salt. It’s not personal and they have a job to do & take it VERY seriously.
No bags, food, or drink are allowed. They have lockers to store your stuff for a small fee.
We got in the long line to board the boat for our return trip … We were pretty quiet on the ride back, taking mental notes-​knowing that we’d never have the experience again.

In A Nutshell:
–I believe that all American’s should visit the Statue of Liberty. It’s a very uplifting and proud experience.
–New York is a very patriotic city that supports the military and proudly expresses freedom probably better than any city in the world.
–Lady Liberty is quite beautiful when you get up close to her. The history of how she was gifted to Americans by our oldest ally, France and how it was assembled is very interesting.
–You can spend a lot of time here if you wish, there are several ferries that you can hop aboard at various times.
Overall, don’t forget to stop by Ellis Island too. Lot’s of history we read in school magically feel so real!

The symbol of New York, the United States, and the Free World is a must-​see when in the city that never sleeps. As it’s a National Monument run by the Federal Government, the Statue of Liberty is not an over-​priced tourist trap. A good value ticket covers the boat to the Statue, access to the pedestal (extra to go higher), another boat to Ellis Island, and access to the immigration museum. All in all, an excellent day out!
Liberty Island is a great place to walk around and enjoy views of Manhattan, of Jersey City, and of the statue itself from various angles. It’s really a special place. There’s a small exhibition inside about the history of Lady Liberty, and I really enjoyed learning her story.
There are park rangers on the island as well, and they run regular tours (free) around the island explaining the history in a fresh and fascinating way. Full marks to them for the excellent job.

What a beauty, I finally got the chance to see the Original Statue of Liberty. I didn’t get on the island for that though, it just too many people on the Liberty Island. Instead of that, I took the boat tour, the boat was close enough that I could see how manificent work and how giant was it. As one of the most iconic symbols of the New York City, that was surely something can’t miss.
The Statue of Liberty is a colossal neoclassical sculpture, designed by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, it was built by Gustave Eiffel and dedicated on October 28, 1886. It was a gift from French people. The construction of the statue was also done in France. The Story behind it is just fascinating. if you like to know more, you can find infomation on the Liberty Island or easier, just check it online.
so when I was in Paris, I also visited the small copie of the statue there, after all this was the country where the statue has been made. The copie of couse wasn’t as big as the original, but it was quite cool to see as well. The one I visited was at der Île aux Cygnes. It was quite brilliant view with the Eiffel Tower at the back. But of course, The one is New York just incomparable, it is surely one of the kind. It was just amazing final got to see the original one and an honor to be here. Billiant!

Ah, Lady Liberty — she truly is even more beautiful in person! You simply cannot come to NYC for the first time and NOT make the boat trip to see the Statue of Liberty. You can get fantastic photos of the statue while on the boat itself, but the statue is absolutely gorgeous when you can see it in person and have the chance to look at the various details of the statue and see how the light shines on it from when you are just a few feet away.
The Statue of Liberty is located on Liberty Island, which can only be accessed via a ferry cruise known as Liberty Cruises. I did a review on Liberty Cruises, so for more information on how the ferry system works, you can check that out in my New York list of reviews.
What you need to know about viewing the Statue of Liberty is that there are three tiers: the first tier is simply the ground tier, which means you can walk around Liberty Island and around the perimeter of the statue, but you cannot go inside; the second tier is the pedestal access which allows you the same access as the ground tier and you can go inside the Statue of Liberty up to the pedestal, which is right at her feet; and the final tier is the crown access, which allows you full access to the Statue of Liberty and you can go up all the way into her crown to view out into the NYC skyline.
You’ll need to purchase these passes from the official Statue of Liberty government website (a quick Google search will turn it up as the first result), and I HIGHLY recommend that you purchase your passes for crown and pedestal access well in advance of your visit, because these are restricted passes, and if you wait until just a week or two before your visit, you will be disappointed at not being able to go inside the Statue of Liberty. These passes can ONLY be bought online, so if you’re thinking about purchasing the passes once you get to the Liberty Island, know that this is not a possibility.

It’s a once in a lifetime excursion by boat to the island. A once in a lifetime walk up the steps to look out! You got it, once was enough for me. I love the beauty from afar. I have postcard perfect pictures taken from close up. They were taken while on the boat getting to the island. I’m not posting those here!
Be prepared to wait in long lines to purchase a ticket and board. You should purchase tickets on line beforehand to save yourself some trouble.

La Estatua de la Libertad es el mayor emblema de New York. Es imposible pensar en conocer esta ciudad y que no se te cruce por la cabeza la imagen de este tan famoso y popular monumento.
Es simple, para poder ver la Estatua de la Libertad hay que ir al sur de Manhattan y contratar un transporte para ir a Liberty Island (lo cual es bastante costoso y no tan sencillo), o sino esta la gran opción de tomar el ferry gratuito que va a Staten Island, que a pesar de no poder bajar en la isla del monumento, van a poder pasar cerca para poder sacar fotos y todo eso.
En fin, está bueno y es un toque impactante ver uno de los monumentos más famosos del mundo, pero tampoco es la gran cosa o tan grande como uno se pueda imaginar. Eso sí, es una fija que hay que ir a conocerla.

Ich finde Harald hat in seinem Bericht die Historie und die Möglichkeiten, die Freiheitsstatue zu erreichen, wunderbar beschrieben.
Ergänzend möchte ich hier noch hinzufügen, das in den Sommermonaten wirklich Zeit und Geduld mit gebracht werden muss, da man an der Fähre wirklich Schlange steht, um hinüber zu fahren. Ist man dort angekommen, ist es natürlich auch ziemlich voll und es drängelt sich alles.
Deswegen ist ein Besuch in der Hauptreisezeit nicht ganz ohne.
Ansonsten aber ist Lady Liberty natürlich einen Besuch wert, der unvergessen bleibt.
Was den Blick auf Manhattan angeht. Möchte man nur diesen erhaschen, dann kann man das auch gut mit der Staten Island Ferry tun. Diese ist kostenfrei und man bekommt beeindruckende Foto-​Motive vor die Linse oder das Smartphone.
Schlange stehen tut man hier nur selten, da die Ferries in einem sehr kurzen Zyklus verkehren.

Elle est mythique, je rêvais de rencontrer cette dame majestueuse pour deux raisons.
La symbolique, c’est un cadeau de la France pour les États-​Unis, un cadeau d’amitié entre deux nations, un lien au dessus de l’océan.un peu de nous là-​bas.
Vivre ce que des milliers d’immigrants ont vécu, elle elle est la première chose qu’ils voyaient en arrivant.
C’est une façon de tenter de les comprendre, d’appréhender notre histoire puisqu’on arrive sur d’immenses bateaux, comme eux, presque parqués après des heures d’attente.on est fébriles.et puis après 20 bonnes minutes de trajet, on pose le pied sur la petite île qui lui sert de promontoir. On la voit au loin belle, immense. et on marche vers elle comme si on la connaissait depuis toujours tout en la découvrant.
Si vous voulez l’approcher, faites tôt la queue pour être sûr d’avoir une place dans un bateau après avoir passé les nombreuses étapes du contrôle de sécurité. Personnellement, après des heures de queue, le dernier est parti juste devant notre nez. et là on vient vous échanger les billets déjà validés pour revenir à compter du lendemain. bref, il y a beaucoup de monde mais ça vaut le détour.Ce n’est pas une visite mais une rencontre inmanquable: courrez-​y !

Sin lugar a dudas uno de mis grandes sueños había sido conocer la famosa estatua de la libertad en NY. Por suerte he tenido la oportunidad de visitarla en dos ocasiones de las cuales una la vi desde el Ferry y la segunda ocasión fui hasta la isla donde se encuentra. Con tanta publicidad que le hacen a esta estatua yo teníà la idea de que era algo realmente impresionante, pero me lleve una total decepción al no ser lo que yo esperaba. No quiero decir que este mal el lugar, simple y sencillamente no es tan padre como lo hacen creer los medios infamativos. En si se ve más grande la estatua por la gran base en la que se encuentra parada, se ve muy bonita y toda la cosa, pero no es tan grande como aparenta.
Lo que más me gusta de este lugar es sin duda el paisaje y la hermosa postal que te regala del mar y los rascacielos. Si quieres venir a visitarla el viaje en Ferry no tiene ningún costo aunque no te puedes bajar en la isla donde se encuentra la estatua y sólo la vez de lejecitos sobre el barco. Tienes que llevar muy buena cámara para que se vea de cerca la estatua y si tú quieres salir en la foto junto a la estatua desde el barco es algo realmente frustrante por que la estatua se ve muy pequeñita. Yo mejor te recomiendo que compres el NY pass que te incluyen un sinfín de lugares turísticos de New York, en los cuales está la estatua de la libertad. De esta forma hasta te dan tus audífonos en la entrada a la isla para que escuches información relacionada a la estatua.
En fin un bonito lugar digno de una hermosa postal

Si il y a bien un lieu à né pas manquer à NYC, c’est bien la statue de la liberté !!!
Le meilleur moyen d’éviter des files d’attente de plusieurs heures, il faut s’y rendre très tôt le matin ! Le ferry est rapide et passé toute les 30 minutes environ…
Après plusieurs visites à NYC, je né manqué jamais de le rendre au pied de la statue.
Nous nous sentons au cœur de NYC c’est tellement magique et la vue sur la skyline est amazing !!!

La Statue de la Liberté est un monument incontournable à New York City, un symbole de liberté, de collaboration entre la France et les Etats Unis.
Pour la visiter, il faut bien s’organiser :
1. Né pas s’y prendre à la dernière minute et se connecter dès qu’on a ses dates de visites à NYC au site officiel pour prendre les billets de Ferry et les billets de la visite
2. Né pas hésiter à prendre les billets pour l’ascension de la statut jusqu’à la couronne: tant qu’à aller visiter la Statut de la Liberté, autant le faire jusqu’au bout.
3. La visite globale est très longue, il faut absolument y aller le matin et déjeuner sur place (attention, le restaurant sur Liberty Island est une vraiment mauvais)
Prenez le temps nécessaire de bien visiter le musée de la Statut de la Liberté, cela donne tout son sens à la visite
4. Surtout passez par Elis Island pour bien comprendre le rôle de cette ile dans la construction des Etats Unis et dans la gestion de l’immigration aux Etats Unis pendant de nombreuses années.
Profitez bien, bonne visite!

Bön, c’est un peu inutile d’en rajouter trois tonnes pour décrire à quel point la statue de la liberté est emblématique et né peut être laissée pour compte lors d’un voyage à New York. Effectivement, cette visite sera une étape importante de votre virée new-​yorkaise, alors, avis utile, je vais vous donner les deux solutions qui vous éviteront de perdre une demi-​journée sur site.
Levez-​vous tôt! Et faites comme nous, profitez du jetlag pour le faire le premier jour de votre voyage, vous serez DÉJÀ debout tôt. Les visites ouvrent à 8h, du coup on s’étaient pointées à 7h15/​30 et on était rentrées directement dans le bateau. Et croyez-​moi, en une demi-​heure, la foule était devenue carrément impressionnante.

La deuxième solution, c’est pour les méga préparés et surtout ceux qui veulent pas perdre de temps: l’accès coupe file en achetant le billet à l’avance:
Pourquoi pas 5 étoiles? Parce que c’est cool, c’est sympa, c’est vraiment la visite symbolique, mais en 5 fois à NY, je n’y suis allée qu’une fois et je n’ai jamais ressenti le besoin vital d’y retourner lors de mes autres visites. (Contrairement à l’Empire State ou au Rockfeller #KEUR).

Bei unserem letzten New York Besuch durfte auch die Besichtigung der Statue of Liberty nicht fehlen. Wer sich nicht nur mit einem Bild von Manhattan aus begnügen will, hat die Möglichkeit mit der State Cruises vom Battery Park in Lower Manhattan auf die Insel Liberty Island zu fahren.
Die Statue ist ein Geschenk von Frankreich an die USA und wurde am 28. Oktober 1886 eingeweiht. Sie ist ein Bestandteil des Statue of Liberty National Monument und wurde 1984 als Weltkulturerbe der UNESCO aufgenommen. Sie wird vom National Park Service seit 1926 verwaltet.
Die Figur, die der römischen Göttin der Freiheit nachempfunden wurde, ist sicherlich einer der bekanntesten Statuen der Welt. Sie ist ca. 46 m hoch und wirkt von der Ferne und vor allem aus der Nähe sehr imposant. Mit dem Sockel zusammen ist sie ca. 93 m hoch und stand bei zahlreichen Hollywoodfilmen im Mittelpunkt.
Aufgrund verschiedener Einflüsse musste die Statue of Liberty immer wieder kleinere und größere Sanierungsarbeiten über sich ergehen lassen, das zu vorübergehende Schließungen führte. Zuletzt wurde sie durch den Hurrikan Sandy im Oktober 2012 beschädigt und wurde erst am 4. Juli 2013 wieder eröffnet, dem Nationalfeiertag der USA.
Sehr sehenswert ist auch das Museum im Sockel der Freiheitsstatue, das kostenfrei besichtigt werden kann. Sehr spektakulär ist der Blick von Liberty Island auf Manhattan und bietet von hier aus sehr schöné Fotomotive.
Die Überfahrt mit der State Cruises kann per Internet gebucht werden und man muss sich dann zum vereinbarten Zeitfenster am Battery Park einfinden. Trotz der langen Schlangen am Terminal ging der Check Inn und die Gepäckkontrolle zügig voran.
Ich kann die Besichtigung der Statue of Liberty absolut empfehlen.

Wir sind auf unserem Segeltörn an der Statue vorbeigefahren — unglaublich eindrucksvoll, uns blieb erstmal für einen kurzen Moment die Luft weg. Es drängen sich einem Gedanken auf wie die früheren Einwanderer diesen Anblick empfunden haben müssen. Ich fand es einzigartig!

Je la voyais tout de même plus grande cette dame. Alors oui c’est vrai que je n’ai pris que le ferry gratuit qui né s’arrête pas à ses pieds et passé uniquement au loin mais tout de même ça m’a surpris.
Enfin ce n’est pas bien grave, c’est tout de même ce qui représente le plus symboliquement la ville de New York et pour cette raison, dans mon parcours d’adresses à visiter, elle fut la priorité et ça fait bien plaisir de la voir de ses propres yeux.

La statue de la Liberté, quel symbole ! Tout passage à New York né peut pas se faire sans y aller ! Elle vaut bien notre tour Eiffel parisienne dans cette immense ville américaine.
Malheureusement, Ellis Island était fermée à cette époque à cause de l’ouragan Sandy qui a fortement endommagé les installations fin 2012. Nous avons tout de même apprécié notre visite du monument sans pour autant monter au sommet de la couronne puisque nous n’y voyions pas d’intérêt particulier. En effet, un peu de mathématiques démontreront que le point de vue sur New York né changera pas beaucoup à cette altitude étant donné la grande distance qui nous sépare de la ville. C’est comme monter sur un tabouret pour mieux voir un immeuble sur la rue d’en face.
Passé ce détail qui vous évitera une longue attente et quelques dollars en plus, je vous recommande en revanche de prendre le «monument access» dans votre réservation qui vous donnera beaucoup d’informations sur l’histoire de la statue et sa conception. Un audioguide est distribué gratuitement pour la visite.
Petit agacement côté sécurité où nous avons dû passer les contrôles deux fois, l’un avant de monter sur le bateau, et l’un avant de monter dans la statue ! C’est pas long mais je me dis qu’un seul suffirait !

Es uno de los punto claves a ver dentro de NY, y esto no solo lo saben los visitantes, sino también los newyorkinos, que sacan tajada de ello, Acercándonos hacia la isla donde se encuentra tienes bastantes compañías que quieren venderte el viaje de turno a la isla donde se encuentra la estatua para que la veas, pero nosotros preferimos verla desde lejos y con la ciudad de fondo, tal y como teníamos todos en mente después de tantas películas donde la imagen de NY tiene su guinda con la estatua, presidiéndola.
Cogimos el Ferry que es gratuito y vimos toda la bahía donde se encuentra, y el tráfico de barcos constante al su alrededor. aprovechamos para hacer ida y vuelta y la verdad es que nos quedamos más que satisfechos, ya que la otra opción era haber reservado con antelación la visita o gastarse un dineral en ir a la isla y esperar colas, aglomeraciones, etc, y si quieres ver muchas cosas o lo más posible de NY no te da tiempo.

La primera vez que la vi fue desde el ferry, orgullosa delante de una masa de rascacielos. No dejé de apretar el botón de mi cámara para captar tan bella estampa de una de las ciudades mas cosmopolitas del mundo. Por mucho que el zoom intentaba acercarse la imagen se me hacia lejana, con lo que sin dudar paso a estar entre la prioridades a visitar en Nueva York.
En seguida me informe de cómo poder subir a la estatua de la libertad y me aconsejaron que cogiera un Tour del gobierno, ya que es el único que te deja subir y ver el interior del monumento. Para poder subir a la corona hay que reservar con tres meses de antelación. Lo tendré en cuenta para una próxima visita. Ahora bien también os digo que el museo del emigrante que está incluido en el tour me quitó rápido la desilusión de no haber podido subir a tomar fotos desde la corona.

Die Statue of Liberty gehört unverwechselbar zum Stadtbild von NYC. Jeder erkennt diese Statue sofort. Man sollte sie unbedingt bei einem New York Trip einplanen. Ob man deswegen nach Liberty Island fährt muß jeder selbst entscheiden. Es ist hier ein großer Andrang und dadurch auch dementsprechende Wartezeiten. Es gibt viele andere möglichkeiten die Freiheitsstatue zu bewundern oder Fotografieren, z.b. im vorbeifahren mit der Staten Island Ferry.

Impressionnant ! L’arrivée en bateau sur l’île donne une vue superbe sur la skyline de New york ! Monument impressionnant et incontournable de la ville ! Montez dedans, la vue n’en sera que meilleure ! (Mangez avant, tarifs de restauration excessifs.)

Man wird genauer als am Flughafen unter die Lupe genommen. Bis man auf der Fähre ist, können schonmal 1 – 2 Std. vergehen. Die Überfahrt dauert ca. 15min.

Man kann ohne weitere Kontrollen um die Statue unten rum laufen. Wenn man rein möchte, muss man allerdings vorher im Internet Tickets dafür bestellen. Da der Kopf der Statue erst letztes Jahr wieder für Besucher geöffnet wurde, kam ich leider nicht in den Genuss. Das wird aber bestimmt noch nachgeholt.

Gehört einfach dazu, wie der Eifelturm in Paris, oder das Colosseum in Rom!
Tickets für die Fähre kann man auch vorher im Internet ausdrucken. Diese sind dann ab dem Bestelldatum ein paar Wochen gültig. Kann man alles auf den Infoseiten nachlesen. Viel Spaß!

Wer ewig anstehen möchte und für ein nicht gerade günstiges Geld in den Kopf hoch muß, der möge dies tun.
Ich fand dies nicht notwendig, da man sie von unten besser sieht und fotografieren kann.
Ein absolutest MUST!

Aller voir ce symbole est un incontournable de toute visite de NYC. Pour cela il vous faudra prendre le ferry. Eviter les heures de pointes cela vous évitera de longues heures d’attente. Après quelques minutes en ferry vous arrivez enfin sur Liberty Island qui est une toute petite île où se trouve le monument. Sur l’île se trouve un restaurant, un magasin souvenir et bien sur la fameuse statue de la liberté dont vous aurez à loisir de prendre en photo. Autre chose excellente, c’est la vue incroyable depuis cette petite île de Manhattan et de ses environs.

Wegen Schäden durch Hurricane Sandy sind Liberty Island und die Statue of Liberty sowie Ellis Island leider bis voraussichtlich Sommer 2014 geschlossen.
Derzeit kann man mit den bekannten Schifffahrtsanbietern nur um Liberty Island und Ellis Island herum fahren.
Der Blick auf Manhattan ist es schon wert und bei schönem Wetter ist eine Schifffahrt doch immer nett! :)

Este é um lugar que não pode deixar de ser visitado quando estiver em Manhatan. Infelizmente não pude conhecer a estatua por dentro porque estava fechada. Tem um aparelho que eles te emprestam para você conhecer a história de cada parte que você passa, muito legal e interessante.

Ich finde jeder der das erste mal da ist sollte in jedem Fall dort hin! Das irre lange warten lohnt sich meiner Meinung nach unbedingt! Das war eine der Erlebnisse die mir auch Jahre später im Gedächtnis blieben!

Pour le départ, direction les ferries à la pointe sud de Manhattan ! On est en août, il fait une chaleur abominable. On commence par attendre quelques dizaines de minutes pour prendre nos tickets. On pense que c’est gagné, et pourtant … On cherche la fin de la file d’attente pour embarquer, on marche, on marche, non c’est pas possible, il n’y a pas autant de monde ! Et bein si ! C’est parti pour de longues, très longues minutes d’attente. Si pendant quelques minutes vous levez votre vigilance, des touristes malveillants vous passeront devant, be careful ;) !
Ça y est, on embarque ! Mince on a oublié d’acheter les couronnes de la statue (quitte à être kitsch, autant y aller à fond!), tant pis, on lorgnera les cars de chinois (ils en ont forcément eux) avec envie !
Un petit tour de bateau pour arriver à l’île tant convoitée. Tout le monde se bouscule pour prendre Manhattan en photo, puis pour prendre la fameuse Statue. Dur dur d’obtenir un cliché sans 30 mains/​appareils photos/​casquettes/​crâné dégarni en bas du cadre. Grrr !
Et puis on descend. On fait encore la queue quelques minutes pour obtenir un audio-​guide, compris dans le prix du ticket.
Et c’est parti ! On fait le tour de l’île, on admire la vue sur Manhattan. C’est quand même vachement beau !
Puis on continue, on aperçoit la Statue. Mince, il y a des travaux devant, avec des grillages !
Moi qui idéalisais cette virée, pas moyen de s’approcher de Madame, et encore moins d’y monter (pour ça il faut réserver plusieurs mois à l’avance et fournir tout un tas de papiers, politique antiterroriste oblige).
Résultat, on passé loin. On en profite quand même pour poser devant avec la même posture (je vous ai dit qu’on était cliché!).
J’espérais apprendre beaucoup de choses avec l’audio-guide, mais c’est clairement niveau enfant, avec des blagues et des devinettes.
Bref, ça fait quand même quelque chose de la voir en vrai ! Mais on se sent considéré comme du bétail, nous entassant dans les ferries, nous faisant attendre des heures et des heures (bein oui pour reprendre le ferry il faut encore attendre les amis!). Néanmoins, c’est inconcevable pour moi de venir à NY sans avoir vu ce chef-d’oeuvre !

Wir haben im Vorhinein crown tickets gebucht um in die Krone der Freiheitsstatue zu können. Zwar muss man dort zu Fuß in einem immer enger werdenden Schneckenhausartigen Treppenhaus hinauf, aber der Blick von dort oben entschädigt echt auch die über 350 Stufen. Es war nicht sehr windig, aber man konnte dort deutlich die Bewegung spüren. Es dürfen immer nur kleine Gruppen von ca. 5 Leuten gleichzeitig hoch, was auch in dem sehr kleinen Raum mehr als gerechtfertigt ist. Die zwei Scouts oben waren Super nett, haben sogar die Klappfenster geöffnet und uns tolle Fototipps gegeben. Es war wirklich atemberaubend!!!
Die Tickets MÜSSEN vorher gebucht werden! (24USD).

La statue de la liberté, planté sur un fort et sur une petite île, quelle brillante idée, l’île est adorable, calme, et plein de sagesse, beaucoup de mouettes et de goélands envahissants et sans gêné, c’est un endroit incontournable de New York, à voir une fois dans sa vie, et quitte à patienter une heure pour le bateau dans la file, dans le parc qui est remplit d’écureuils.

Ça y est ! Je la rencontre enfin en personne. Merci Madame pour ce tête à tête au large de Manhattan.

Il faut compter environ une vingtaine de dollars pour faire 3 attractions !! La première sera de prendre le ferry et d’y passer la sécurité avec des agents de sécurité pas très aimable. On dirait qu’ils n’aiment pas leur métier et qu’ils sont stressés !
Ensuite, belle vue du bateau (se mettre au dernier étage dehors) de New York et 15 minutes après, nous approchons de la statue de la liberté où il est possible de débarquer. En ce moment, la statue est en travaux, donc vous né pourrez pas y monter mais cela vaut quand même le détour.
Par la suite, avec le même ticket, avant de retourner à New York, il est possible de faire escale sur Eslie Island, pour visiter un musée où tous les immigrants au début du 20ième siècle étaient obligés de passer par là avant d’être accepté et de travailler aux Etats Unis. A l’intérieur, vous pouvez voir gratuitement un film qui explique bien cela au «Theater» n°1.

Unbeschreiblich dieses Gefühl wenn man davor steht rauf konnten wir zwar nich und voll wars auch aber allein schon davor zu stehen war WAHNSINN

Man kann isch sicherlich streiten, ob man nun dort sein gewesen muss oder nicht, ich finde, New York hat besseres zu bieten Bei unserem ersten Besuch in NY haben wir uns noch damit begnügt, die Statue von der Staaten Island Fähre aus zu betrachten, was schon toll ist aktuell haben wir uns dazu hinreißen lassen, doch nach Liberty Island überzusetzen und ganz ehrlich, man kann es sich sparen. Zu viele Leute, zu lange schlangen, amrikanische typische Sicherehitsvorkehrungen. ehrlich, wo bleibt da noch der Genuss.

Ich war jetzt drei mal in NYC, beim letzten mal dann auch endlich auf der Freiheitsstatue.
Die Statue ist schon imposant und halt irgendwie ein must have auf der sightseeing liste. Überhaupt nicht toll fand ich die Wartezeit vor den Sicherheitskontrollen (1h 30min). Dass man eine Kontrolle durchführt ist natürlich ok, aber nicht wenn die Kontrolle hier umfangreicher ist als an so mancheinem Flughafen.
Einmal da gewesen zu sein ist halt doch irgendwie etwas besonderes und war toll, auch trotz der langen wartezeit und der nervigen kontrollen. Ein weiteres mal muss dann aber auch erstmal nicht sein.

Auch dies natürlich ein absolutes Muss bei einem NYC Urlaub aber trotzdem: Der Halt auf Liberty Island ist nach meinem Empfinden kein Muss. Man kann auch zweimal an der Lady vorbeischippern, ruhig werden und dann die eingesparte Zeit lieber auf Ellis Island investieren. Mehr als ein paar gute Fotos von dem french present kann man auch auf der Insel nicht bekommen, zumal gerade auch weite Bereiche eingezäunt sind, die dann einen wirklich gute pic view auf die Lady verhindern. Als ich gerade Lib Island anfuhr strömte es, wie aus Kübeln, so dass die Entscheidung bis Ellis Island sitzen zu bleiben richtig war, schon um nicht klatschnass zu werden. Trotzdem sind ein paar nette Pics vom Boot aus gelungen und wenn es bei dieser Cruise nicht klappt, dann bleibt die Staten Island Ferry für einen weiteren Versuch. Meine Meinung.

Ich fand es toll endlich vor dieser grünen Dame zu stehen, die man doch nur aus Filmen kannte. Und bevor noch einer dieser Filme wahr wird (Cloverfield etc.) ist es doch schön, einmal da gewesen zu sein.

TOP! Bei einem New York Besuch PFLICHT, wenn man noch nie dort gewesen ist!
Mit der Fähre geht es hin und auch wieder zurück.
Die Rückfahrt fasziniert ebenfalls mit der schönen Aussicht auf die Skyline von Manhatten!
GARANTIERT einen Ausflug wert!

Regalo de Francia a los EÉUU, la estatua de la Libertad es el momumento mas famoso de América del Norte y símbolo de Nueva York, además de su lugar mas visitado y uno de los mas visitados del mundo. Símbolo de los Estados Unidos de Norteamerica. Ahora estará cerrada un año por reformas.

Einfach faszinierend gesehen zu haben.

Als wir das erste Mal in New York waren, mussten wir natürlich auch die Freiheitsstatue von Nahem betrachten.
So begaben wir uns dann also an einem sonnigen Tag zum Battery Park, stellten uns in einer Schlange, die uns ein Ansager forsch zuwies, an und kauften Tickets für die Fähre. Als wir die Länge der Schlange zur Fähre sahen, erschraken wir zuerst, als wir dann aber anstanden, merkten wir, dass die Organisation des Ganzen tip top ist. Man muss durch Sicherheitskontrollen gehen und die Taschen werden durchleuchtet aber trotz des ganzen Aufwandes und der Menschenmassen, die über die Fähren zu den Inseln und wieder zurück transportiert werden, lief alles erstaunlich flott und reibungsslos ab.
Bald darauf saßen wir auf einer Fähre und auch die Fahrt übers Wasser war toll, denn vom Schiff aus hat man einen fantastischen Blick auf die Skyline von Manhattan. Nach kurzer Fahrt konnten wir dann die Freiheitsstatue aus der Nähe betrachten. Der Rundgang auf Liberty Island war wirklich schön, auch wenn die Insel an sich nicht sehr groß ist und wir nicht in die Freiheitsstatue selbst hineingegangen sind.
Die Freiheitsstatue war mir aus so vielen Filmen bekannt und schon bevor ich sie live gesehen hatte ans Herz gewachsen. Alleine die Szene aus Ghostbusters 2, in der sie durch die Stadt läuft, ist unvergesslich ;-) Seitdem ich bei unserem Ausflug ein tolles Bild von Miss Liberty vor strahlend blauem Himmel gemacht habe, trage ich sie auf meinem Handydisplay mit mir herum.

On né peut pas aller a Paris sans aller voir le Tour Eiffel? Eh bien c’est pareil pour NYC et la Statue de la Liberté

Ich weiß, die Freiheitsstatue ist etwas abgedroschen, aber sie ist ein absolutes Muß. Die Sicherheitskontrollen sind wie auf dem Flughafen, das Ziel ist touristisch, aber wegen der geschichtlichen Bedeutung ist sie beeindruckend.

Ist schon toll sie mal gesehen zu haben, aber irgendwie habe ich sie mir größer vorgestellt und imposanter.

Es impresionante, la recomiendo.

Pour voir la Statue de la liberté, vous aurez le choix entre différentes croisières.
Par contre, il faut vraiment s’y prendre à l’avance pour réserver une place dans les croisières. Prévoir au minimum une journée avant et arriver un peu tôt pour avoir les meilleures places…
La statue de la liberté, on a l’impression de connaître, mais la voir là pour la première fois en vrai, immense et majestueuse, c’est vraiment un moment à couper le soufflé.
Un conseil, optez pour un tour en Hélicoptère au dessus de manhattan, central park, liberty island, ellis island… (départ par exemple depuis le quai au bas de wall street)
Offerte par la France, la Statue est l’oeuvre du sculpteur Alsacien Bartholdi et la structure métallique est signée Eiffel.
L’un des symboles des USA est en fait un produit Made in France…

Il faut aller vers l’embarquadère pour Liberty Island, en passant par Battery Park, pour récupérer les tickets d’entrée. On apprend ici qu’on né pourra pas visiter l’intérieur de la statue, toutes les places étant déjà distribuées. Direction donc le ferry et sa sécurité digne d’un aéroport: rayons x, fouillage de sac etc.
On embarque sur le ferry et au fur et à mesure que Manhattan s’éloigne, la dame de cuivre se rapproche. Les photos fusent. La statue créée par Bartholdi a été offerte aux USA en 1886. Il semblerait qu’il se soit inspiré du visage de sa mère pour représenter cette statue, et du tableau de Delacroix la liberté guidant le peuple .
La statue est verte en raison de l’oxydation du cuivre qui la compose. C’est une statue vraiment massive et magnifique. Je n’en suis pas peu fière !! Elle devait véritablement donner de l’espoir à tous les émigrés arrivant aux USA des 4 coins du monde au début du XXe s. Le musée d’Ellis Island situé tout à côté, relate ces faits. On peut y visiter la salle d’enregistrement et voir un certains nombre de documents d’époque (notamment des affiches informatives écrites en plusieurs langues anglais, italien, polonais, chinois). Très intéressant.
Une visite incontournable, donc :)

Al llegar a NYC es importante apuntar en tu lista la visita a la estatua de la libertad; El paseo con el ferry hace que tus vacaciones sean interesante En dias nublados dificil hacer buenas fotos =(

Hasta que no la ves parece que no estas en new york, sorprende su tamaño que es menor al que te inmaginas. No merece la pena ir hasta la isla a verla pero si coger el ferry gratuito a staten island y pasar por su lado.

Es el emblema de Estados Unidos, catalogada recientemente como una de las 7 maravillas del mundo. Quizá no la más bonita de todas, pero sí la que más representatividad tiene.
Para visitarla recomiendo elegir un día soleado, ya que yo tuve la mala fortuna de pillar nubes y un poco de neblina y no se veía demasiado.
Aunque antes se podía subir a la corona, ahora ya no dejan.

Es el tipico sitio que toda la vida te as echo a la idea como es y quando llegas dices, es esto?, a mi personalmente me decepciono en cauanto a dimensiones, creeia que era mucho mas grande, y que su situación era otra, esta en una pequeña isla enfrente a la parte sur de la isla de manhatan.

Maravilhoso. Um passeio que quem for a New York não pode deixar de fazer. Para se chegar a ilha em que está a Estátua você pega o Liberty Ferry que é o barco que faz a ligação entre Manhattan e a Estátua da Liberdade. Na época, eu me lembro que subi mais de 300 degraus pra chegar no topo da escada e fiquei morto de cansado mas valeu a pena. Simplesmente inesquecível!!!

La estatua de la libertad es uno de los lugares que no te debes perder si vas a Nueva York, muy bonita, lo malo es que solo te dejan subir hasta el pedestal, sin embargo desde alli se consiguen ver unas bonitas vistas de Manhattan. Otro de los inconvenientes es que debes reservar con bastante antelacion, y a pesar de ello tienes que esperar unas colas enormes de mas de una hora (por lo menos cuando fui yo). Y en cuanto a la seguridad, extrema. Tienes que dejar todo en una taquilla, luego dejar todos los objetos que lleves en un escaner, y para colmo te pasan a ti también por un escaner.

Todos conocemos la Estatua de la Libertad. Esta en una pequeña isla al sur de Manhattan. Para ir a su base puedes coger un ferri que no es gratutio. Hay otro que pasa por al lado de la isla y si es gratuito. No es tan impresionante como se piensa pero si es bonita de ver.

Die Insel war gut besucht.
Aufgrund meiner Höhenangst habe ich es aber nicht gewagt in die Statue of Liberty rein– bzw. hochzugehen.

Un endroit magnifique ou le bleu du ciel vous tend la main!
Prennez le bateau à battrie park qui se trouve au bas de manhatan à l’oposé de central park.
Accessible en métro ou en bus ou a pied mais bon courage et prévoyer les basket car les avenues sont longues alors préferer le métro vous perdrez moins de temps.
La navette vous déposera a Elis Island le musée qui vous permettra de comprendre l’histoire de l’amérique et de ses ésclavages puis vous vous rendrez a la statue qui donne une vue sur new york d’un autre angle.
Snak, magasin de souvenirs et promenade vous attendent alors je vous invite a aller rendre visite a cette grande dame qui veille sur manhatan the big apple

Elle est à la Big Apple ce que la Tour Eiffel est à Panam, le symbole de ces deux villes mondialement connues.
Allez à NY et né pas la visité serai crime de lèze majesté.
Pour vous-​y rendre allez à Battery Park et prendre le ferry (de 8h30 à 15h, environ 20 mn de trajet)

. Attention, la torche est inaccessible (depuis 1916) ainsi que la couronne.
Je vous rappel qu’une réplique de 11 mètres est à Paris sur l’île aux Cygnes.
