Studio 360

This is not a review of the Yoga instructors, who are all wonderful. This is a review of the receptionist at 6am on Tuesdays and Thursday and Kyle Henry, the Cycling instructor. I attended the early morning classes twice this week and both times they have been extremely rude and unprofessional, giving each other looks and making me feel uncomfortable. I’m not sure why they have such attitudes at 6am in the morning. I wanted to renew my membership for longer but after this experience I will not be.

I don’t know how this studio got 4 stars. This is a a poor mans crunch spin class… For your mom. The only redeeming thing was the instructor played Britney Spears

Gets the job done, no character, no frills. I took the signature spin class via ClassPass which is a combined «yoga» class. It felt like a poor-man’s YAS (SoCal people know what I’m talking about).
The spin instructor was particularly uninspiring. The equipment is super basic, and the entire ride was in the dark with the only light coming from the tiny bike lights they use to illuminate the screens, so it felt absurd when she kept commenting that everyone looked great. My favorite moment was when she shouted «this isn’t just a hill, it’s a mountain!» as though that were supposed to be inspiring. I literally lol’ed at her lameness. The class had zero personality and felt no more exciting than when I do a bike workout on my own, actually my music is better so maybe it was even a little less inspiring.
On the plus side the place was super clean, the staff was super kind and helpful, and they seemed to have everything well organized.

Came here using ClassPass, I enjoyed it! I’m def a beginner and haven’t gone to many cycling classes but I really enjoyed the laidback vibe here. I didn’t feel pressure but I was still able to get a good work out in. I came here in the morning, wasn’t too crowded– loved it.
Music was bumping in my opinion, it was just enough to get me going. I liked that they took your bike measurements and the next time you come back they have everything set up for you! Super helpful! Cycling room is dim but I like it like that. They also have some lights going once the music started.
They provide cycling shoes, small hand towel, and lockers for storage. Small studio but has everything you need.
I feel like if you’re just getting in cycling this is a good spot, not intimidating like soulcycle, etc…

Nice bikes. Love how they have 30 minute classes for when I want to get home earlier. The class doesn’t have a lot of variety but great music and the convenience of it all will keep me coming back. For the Monday 30-​min class which I’ve been to twice, I really couldn’t hear the instructor except in between songs.

I took the cycle/​yoga combo class on Tuesday at 6 and loved it! The 40-​minute cycle portion was an awesome workout and the music was so motivating. The 20-​minutes of yoga that followed provided the perfect opportunity to stretch out so that you’re not sore the next day.
Helpful tip: they have free lockers so you can store your stuff without worrying about it!

I’m new to the area and have been trying every studio under the sun — this one is a «middle of the road» spin/​fusion class.
Pros:
— Relaxed, not pretentious at all (refreshing!)
— Shoe rental, awesome
— Spin instructor seemed knowledgeable and prepared
Cons:
— The yoga session for the last half hour of class was a total joke
— Yoga Instructor kept saying «like,» as if she was an uncomfortable or novice teacher
— It was NOT YOGA, it was deep stretching after spin
**Verdict — the studio is comfortable and decent, but with so much stiff fitness fusion studio competition, Studio 360 needs to step their game up.

I have to say I am so disappointed in studio360. They said they would host a fundraiser (so nice) and then started ignoring my emails. I would totally understand if they couldn’t do it, but being ignored is just frustrating and immature. I have since found another studio to do it. I was looking forward to coming back regularly now that I am post injury, but right now I am just disappointed.

I have been coming here since the studio opened. Its great! Their teachers are awesome, the people at the front desk are super friendly and the owner is a really nice guy. Both yoga and spin classes are incredible.

Came here tonight to take my first spin class. I was so nervous, but, everyone was super super nice.
Super cute facility with exposed brick and I just sort of fell in love with the vibe of the place and the people.
Julie is so sweet, encouraging and plays fun music! I’ll definitely be back for spinning!

I stumbled across Studio 360 while searching for spin studios on ClassPass, and it has since found a regular spot in my rotation. Compared to other NYC studios, 360 has a casual, laid-​back vibe and no competition built into the classes, which makes it a nice break from TorqBoards and Swerve Scores.
Facilities: Not as shiny and luxe as some other studios, but clean and comfortable. You emerge at the top of the stairs into a check-​in area with lockers and restrooms to one side and the yoga & spin studios to the other. The locker area seems roomy but quickly fills up and creates a bottleneck of people before and after class. On the plus side, the old-​school lockers are charming and offer quick in & out with keys instead of combinations.
Spin Room: Bikes are well-​spaced and arranged stadium-​style, but you are fairly close to your neighbor. The room is not well ventilated and can get HOT and muggy when the class is full. This is my biggest gripe about this place. The effect created by a combination of steamed up mirrors, humid haze in the air, and the glare of black lights from the ceiling has made me seriously question if I was dying in middle of class… is my vision blurring? Is this the end?
Bikes: Hands down, favorite bikes in the city. Super smooth ride (on par with Peloton bikes) but with a lever-​operated gear system. The monitors are simple but sync to my personal heart rate monitor, so I don’t have to constantly check my watch to confirm I’m not dying (see above). Also the BEST part is that when you sign up in advance (even via CP), the bike is set up for you when you arrive. So you can be running late, walk in when class is starting, and still join the warm-​up.
Instruction: After spinning for years, this is one of the first places where I felt the instructors really explained what you were supposed to do and feel with different core exercises on the bike. Touchbacks, for instance, can be back-​wrenching bum-​bounces if you do them at rapid dance speed on the bike. Same with push-​ups (hint: they’re not just for your arms). With the right resistance and proper form, these choreographed «extras» in a spin class really CAN work out your whole body.
Bonus: The Signature series class has the added bonus of a short yoga session after spinning, bringing the total workout time to 60 minutes. For those uninterested in and/​or terrified of yoga, this portion is basically just extra stretching, and is a great way to wind down after class.
I really wish 360 was in my neighborhood – I would drop ClassPass and just get a membership here. It’s a nice, inviting studio with great people and a lot of practical bonuses (i.e. in the grand scheme, I’d rather have someone set up my bike for me than have luxury products in the locker room).
Spin studio’s I’ve visited: Flywheel, Peloton, SoulCycle, Cyc, Revolve, Swerve, Crank, 360, FlowCycle, PNT, BFX.

I love the classes taught by Becky and Nikki. Definitely my favorite classes on ClassPass. The classes are high energy and focus a lot on technique with amazing music. The locker area can get a bit cramped, especially during the week. It’s lovely to have a bike waiting for me (especially if I’m running behind) that’s already set to my measurements and my shoes waiting for me. The front desk staff has always been welcoming.
The yoga classes with Signature Series are varied, but most of the time I find myself preferring to stretch on the bike at the end rather than go to the yoga. I haven’t taken any of the dedicated yoga classes, so I can’t speak to that.
The place only gets 4 stars because the studio can trend towards beyond hot, especially with the recent heat wave, and a few of the newer instructors I’m not as impressed with, but any class with Nikki or Becky is fabulous!

This place was great! I’ve taken spin at FlowCycle, Peloton, Flywheel, and SWERVE. I’d rank this #3 after SWERVE and Peloton but would definitely include it if I’m in the mood for something more self-​centered and less about competing with other riders.
The studio is very Murray Hill in its vibe and the crowd. It’s basic, but it has everything you need — lockers with locks, towels, free shoes, and a place to refill water. All the staff there were extremely helpful in getting me set up on the bike. They also took my yoga mat and towel and set it up in the room for me in a great spot, so I could just go straight from spin to yoga! They provide a mat if you don’t have one, I just prefer to bring my own :).
The LifeFitness bikes were surprisingly good — they didn’t have the grind I’ve experienced in other bikes like at Flywheel. I generally associate the LifeFitness brand with sad hotel gyms, but these bikes did the job! The displays aren’t backlit, but each bike has a mini-​light on it so you can see the stats. My only major complaint about the cycling room is that it was HOT AF. I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt on that since it was insanely hot outside today, but at times I definitely felt heat exhaustion from the exertion in combination with the conditions… borderline unsafe :/​.
I took the Signature Series with Sarah Combs and George for the yoga portion. Sarah came over and introduced herself to me and talked to me for a few minutes, which I liked. Overall I enjoyed the ride and felt motivated to perform. This class doesn’t have an arms portion but does those weird (I’m assuming) Soul Cycle-​esque pushups on the bikes. Not really my thing since I do real pushups and strength training on a regular basis, but it may be other people’s cup of tea.
I will say that sometimes I struggled with the instruction style in that I couldn’t track visually on the bike how long a sprint or a climb was (the screen isn’t the easiest to see and I don’t think it has the time). I wish there had been a few more numbers called out since at times I lost where I thought the resistance should be. Additionally, sometimes the RPM request didn’t really match to the beat at all, which is critical for me. I really listen to the beat and try to follow it when I’m spinning except for sprints. I think maybe after a few more classes there I’ll be able to understand what’s going on. Sarah did do a good job of giving us a sense of what was coming up, so toward the end that helped me pace myself.
I actually also really enjoyed the yoga portion. I don’t do yoga too often, so I appreciated that it was just more about breathing and stretching and movement. Sometimes at yoga studios I feel dumb because I can’t do or hold certain poses, but here was a very judgment free zone of yoga. George was great — I feel like he had this bro-​esque but calming voice that made me feel right at place.
After class I felt super relaxed and endorphin-​filled :). I definitely liked this place and would certainly return — I just wish they offered the signature series more often!

It’s hot and they have one fan. I am not a spin person so I may be the wrong person to ask. The instructors are pretty good. I am pretty sore from the bikes, but I am a newbie so that may be why.
The shoes are a nice touch and «cross my fingers’ none of them have been crazy sweaty. They have been well maintained.

I really like this place. I come here to spin with class pass and it’s probably my favorite spin class I’ve taken anywhere. They provide you with the spin shoes, which makes your ride so much better. The instructors here all really get into it and are encouraging, also making your ride more fun. Everyone had an awesome playlist. The bikes are great bc they show you what level you are on, rpms, and how many calories you are burning.
Definitely recommend this place and I will definitely continue to come.

I may have come on an of day, but I did NOT love this place.
Via Classpass I read about Signature Series, which includes cycling with a yoga portion at the end. What could be better, right?
Well, the music wasn’t exactly inspiring me to climb mountains, and the instructor seemed a bit apathetic as far as keeping us motivated. I get it, you’re not there to baby me along for the ride, but in my experience most good spin instructors are engaging, motivating and energetic– which in turn brings the energy level of the whole class up.
I will not be returning, because it’s a far way for me to travel for a mediocre spin experience.
*NOTE that I did really enjoy the yoga portion.

I second all the reviews below about the changing rooms /​locker area — it is small and crowded, but if all you are doing is storing your bag and shoes (and not changing or showering), it was okay. The staff was friendly and helpful — set up yoga mats, and the lockers have keys so you con’t have to bring a lock.
I came to do the Vinyasa Yoga class thru ClassPass. The class was a great Kundalini class — completely not Vinyasa, and the instructor admitted as much. Totally fine, but advertise Kundalini then, because that’s not my favorite and I wouldn’t have wasted my time heading all the way to the east side.
The studio is very small compared to others I have tried, but was clean. The problem is that the cycling classes are very loud and right next to you AND the people heading to and from class are clomping right outside the room in cycling shoes, so basically there is no way to gain any calm or zen feeling during yoga. I might come back for cycling, but not for yoga.

I bought a voucher for unlimited yoga here. Conveniently located on 37^th and 3^rd.
The studio itself is small but so far all the different yoga classes I’ve taken have been great. The instructors all seem to really enjoy teaching their class and they’re so nice! Their customer service is fast when emailing them.
Needs improvement:
Locker area– needs shoe racks or places to put everyone’s shoes since they are strewn all about and the floor gets gross from the snow/​water/​etc.
Need more coat hooks– self explanatory
Website– Not sure if it is because I bought a LS/​Groupon but when I try to register for classes it brings me to a page to buy a membership. So I have to email the studio every time this happens and they have to manually sign me up for class.
Room– Can get a little crowded during certain times and you can hear the spin class loud and clear next door (maybe lower the max amt of ppl so that you have space to stretch out.
I’ve only been to a handful of classes but I really enjoy the studio so far. At the end of my trial I’ll decide whether it’s worth buying the full price membership.

Disappointing. First, it is incredibly confusing to figure out where you’re supposed to go — the waiting area is way too small and not as clean as people stated. This could be because we’re in a freaking tundra of ice, salt, and horribleness that is the East Coast but still. Clean it up, Studio 360. Second, the water is NOT free. I know this isn’t atypical of most studios, but EVERY SINGLE review raves about the free water. Not free, people.
The yoga room itself is quite small, but it is very clean and nicely set up. The blocks though are very cheap. They feel like styrofoam (might actually BE styrofoam?).
The class itself was… ok. I took Slow Flow and the room was so packed (I counted 20 mats) that I hit myself on the wall everytime I tried to swan dive. Probably 15 (or less) mats would fit comfortably. Did not add to the zen. You can also hear the instructor yelling and the music going in the cycling room… less and less zen. They also let someone come in late during the first yin pose which was distracting to say the least. The instructor kept trying to get through, «Open your ches…» (*whisper whisper to chick who came in late, trying to explain the pose*) «Now think about your heart and you-​» (*whisper whisper to chick who is late banging around blocks on the floor*). You get the idea.
The instructor was so jammed into the corner you couldn’t see her demonstrate anything (not her fault, but still not helpful). I was next to someone who was brand new to yoga who was instructed to, «just follow along with others.» Ummm… okay? The room was also way, way too hot. Like, give you a headache hot. This is partially my fault that I didn’t speak up at the start of class, but I was FREEZING walking out of the space.
Will not be back.

The bad :
Cramped space! Seriously, it’s a mess in between classes. Not enough lockers or space to store your stuff period. It’s actually stressful.
And while the signature series is great you have to get the really early to get a spot on the yoga prion.
So yea, if I were paying full price I would definitely not choose this place.
