SO!!! This is a great new subway up by my apartment. Just opened a year ago… and it rocks. Never crowded, fresh rolls, really fresh toppings, always accommodating to my need of every topping on display… watch out when i come in, ill wipe you clear! Free chips and sometimes a cookie, if late at night, they take care of ya. Reasons its not 5 stars? NOTENOUGHTOPPINGS. I get both banana and sweet peppers, and there are never enough of them. Nor olives, nor lettuce, nor onions, or pickles, or cucumbers(I told you I love toppings guys…) SUGGESTIONS: Chickken Parm(without parm)…breaded chicken with provolone toasted on wheat roll… lettuce, tomato, onions, hot peps, sweet peps, olives, pickles, cucumbers, if im feeling EXTRA hot, I add jalapenos. Top if off with full mayo. So go try this subway and enjoy… and eat fresh!

It’s clean, small, a typical Subway restaurant experience. I happen to love eating Subway and usually go at least once a week, but this establishment doesn’t do anything particularly special for me that I would give it 5 stars. Unlike other areas in NYC it’s the only one I know of for at least a good 3 –4 blocks in any direction so it’s the one I visit most often when I’m at work. Give me some free cookies every once in a while and I will consider bumping up the rating to that blissful 5 star heaven.

This Subway is right down the street from my pad, so I’ve gone here several times. As far as Subways go, it’s one of the cleanest I’ve ever been to. Employees are friendly and deliver a consistent product. Open till 11 too, which is handy in a pinch. As you would expect, not a lot going on here for atmosphere, but there is ample room to sit and eat, and large glass windows that look out on a small park where skater groms like to trick out.

You know that smell. The scent that wafts out 20 yards and assaults your nose insisting, «ssaaaaaannnnnndwhiiiiiiich.» This Subway Sandwich shop is actually as yummy as that smell so forcefully implies. Great: 1. They carry this rare Subway condiment that is a red pepper flaked hot sauce much like a non-pureed siracha, and that stuff is the maker of my day. I have stopped having Subway for lunch at work and instead sometimes have it for dinner, because I can only get this sauce at this place, and I’m only near there when I’m home. Passing another location on my way, I will walk three blocks out of my way to get that sauce on my sandwich. 2. Clean. Bright. Stocked. Fresh bread and cookies. Right next to the subway at 110th Street. 3. They will deliver if you are close and buying a few sandwiches, which has proven quite clutch at some handy moments. Not as great: 1. Some of the workers are stingy with the toppings. I recently heard some nameless chef(restaurateur?) on the food network(cooking channel?) talk about how great and successful chefs generally are generous people at heart. Thinking about the few Subway-folk who make sandwiches with minimal lettuce and two and a half strips of green pepper, well that makes me think that I wish they’d heard the inspiration of that generous chef talking and not me. But I can’t even take a Subway Star away from this location for this minor infraction, as when I ask for more I get it without drama, which though not quite generous, is still certainly very good!
