The sushi was delicious so that’s why I’m giving 4 stars. Rude staff every time (been 3 times). Need an attitude adjustment. The only reason I kept coming back is because the food is very good — just expect that you are not going to get good service.

I had the chefs choice of 8 sushi, and salmon a salmon roll delivered by caviar and it was amazing. The fish was fresh and the rice was perfect. I can’t wait to try the restaurant on 1st ave.

Sushi was incredibly fresh — tasted buttery, smooth and rich. Really fulfilling. $ 18 for three medium sized rolls may feel like a lot, but it’s not given how fresh the fish is. You can even see them take a huge whole fish and deconstruct it for the day’s service.
Soup Nazi-​like service. Good news is that it’s basically take out so you can grab a seat at the communal tables and forget about it…

Two stars for the fish alone. The quality is incredibly fresh and delicious, which should be expected from what is basically a layman’s sample of the restaurant that has been voted best sushi in the city.
However, the chef is the only one who is behind the counter and he has zero concept of customer service. One day he told me that I could not order because he had not opened yet – this was after 12:00 – while someone, who I presume was a friend of his, ate at the counter. The second day I approached, he wouldn’t stop a second to sell someone diet cokes (which is just as well as they had cut in front of me).
I ate here for the experience of trying the best sushi in the city, but because of him I won’t feel a need to return.

Unfriendly. Refused to supply tap water. Expensive. Slow to serve despite the very few seats. They have trouble understanding your order

The sushi was good but the service was not so good. The waiter had attitude and would not give us tap water on a hot day. If you are sitting down to eat you should be able to get tap water.
