Sushi Gohan is the healthier spin on Japanese food. It is located within the Lucky Cat restaurant. You could order rolls made with multi-grain rice, and a rice bowl made with the rice of your choice. I usually order the Pirates bowl with 15-grain rice. It has an assortment of sashimi over a bed of rice of your choice with pickled veggies and chopped eggs(in small cubes). It’s delicious and doesn’t feel too heavy. However, my favorite part of their menu is the taiyaki dessert(pastry shaped like a fish, stuffed with red bean paste) with green tea ice-cream. It’s so good that sometimes I order just the dessert for pick up. I tried their sweet potato roll once. Personally, the sweet potato purée is too sweet for my tasting, I think the version with fried sweet potato is better, then of course, Sushi Gohan is promoting healthier food :). In general, I would recommend people to try out Sushi Gohan.

it’s a cute spot w/lots of potential. they offer appetizers, rice and noodle dishes along w/sushi too. they pay great homage to the lucky cat so you’ll be entertained by that super huge cat in the back. tried the ramen which was a little too spicy and lots of flavors competing but noodles were good. also tried their grilled squid which we liked. and their curry dish which was soso. it’s a great concept that folks can enjoy. flavors have to be tweeked a bit further.

It’s a great concept for a POP-Up sushi restaurant with the edge of eating healthy sushi. This Sushi Gohan is in Lucky Cat Ramen resturant. The best part is the selections of the rice: Forbidden Rice and 15 Grain Japanese Rice. Never this good with sushi. I tried Magic Mushroom Sushi cup. It came in a small which is just enough not too much and have some room for a Sweet Potatoes Slacker rolls. Really good! and the chef was at the bar. Not regular sushi bar but he is there to talk and shows his magic.
